The Canadian government has now hired debt collectors to recoup $122,661 of taxpayer dollars in connection with a racist who was hired as a consultant by its Heritage Department. The Globe and Mail reports:
Last year, the Community Media Advocacy Centre was awarded $133,000 by the Department of Canadian Heritage’s anti-racism action program to build an anti-racism strategy for Canadian broadcasting in which Mr. Marouf played a leading role, including running a seminar in Vancouver.
The Globe and Mail article states that anti-racism consultant Laith Marouf made “derogatory” statements about “Jewish White Supremacists, francophones and Black and Indigenous public figures,” but Marouf was far more than “derogatory,” specifically toward Jews.
He was inflammatory and inciting, crossing the lines of Canada’s hate laws as he talked about “a bullet to the head” for “Jewish White Supremacists” and called Jews “loudmouthed bags of human feces.”
The news broke last October that Canada’s Diversity Minister Ahmed Hussen knew about Marouf’s hateful statements a full month before he spoke out and before the public scandal broke. This cast further questions on the operations of Canada’s Heritage Department — the same department from which anti-Islamophobia Motion M-103 emerged, as well as the “Stalinesque” Bill C-11. It is also the same Department that fired me from the Board of Directors of Canadian Race Relations Foundation, where Canada’s newly appointed “Islamophobia” czar, Amira Elghawaby, now sits on its board, as well as the “spin doctor” for the Danforth shooter, Mohammed Hashim. According to the Toronto Sun, Mohammed Hashim is:
The man who has presented himself as the point of contact for the family of Faisal Hussain is a professional activist who has reportedly committed himself to “framing a new narrative of Muslims in Canada” and creating a “national political movement.”
In observing a pattern of the Heritage Department, the Canadian Center For Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) tweeted:
CIJA has repeatedly raised the issue of lack of oversight by @CdnHeritage in its $ to groups that promote hate & discrimination.
The latest example of gov't anti-racism funding to CMAC and its "senior consultant" Laith Marouf, who has spread #Antisemitism, is appalling. #cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/t2O51nOS4X

The Heritage Department’s hiring of debt collectors is an effort to win back lost confidence. But how serious is the Heritage Department in correcting its wrongs? Or is the department playing every group for Liberal votes? Marouf’s reputation was no secret. In addition to his tweets, Marouf’s website expresses open antagonism against “the Zionist lobby” and calls for opposition to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of hate:
#NoIHRA CAMPAIGN IN BRIEF
The Zionist lobby succeeded in forcing Heritage Canada to implement the weaponized IHRA definition of anti-Jewish hate; one that includes criticism of Israel. Heritage Canada will now require organizations it funds, including Indigenous organizations, as well as media, culture and arts initiatives, to subscribe to a supremacist political ideology and swear allegiance to a foreign Apartheid Colony, before they can receive any funding. These loyalty oaths were previously implemented in the USA; and have lost at every court challenge. The Zionists know these Loyalty Oaths are a lost cause legally, but they will not be deterred without us fighting back.

There’s more about Laith Marouf, as MEMRI reported:
On November 22, 2022, Mayadeen TV (Lebanon) aired an interview with Canadian political activist Laith Marouf, who has recently been banned from several social media platforms and who has had his contracts with the Canadian government as an “anti-racism” trainer canceled due to antisemitic statements he has made. Marouf said that the Zionists have “forced” social media companies like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok to “circumvent” laws, and that the Zionists have created a situation in which they – instead of the courts – get to define racism and antisemitism, since Zionism is otherwise indefensible. He criticized the Canadian government and legal system for being unjust, and he said that Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims must confront the Zionists “on all battlefields” since there is an “open war” with them. He also claimed that deplatforming him has cost the Zionists millions of dollars. In addition, Marouf said that the Zionists are part of the ruling system throughout the West, and that politicians can only win elections by gaining the favor of Zionists. According to online reports, Marouf has collected over $600,000 in Canadian federal government contracts since 2015. In a tweet from September 2021, he said that he doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the feelings of Jews, in another tweet he referred to “the Jewish White Supremacists” as “loud mouthed bags of human feces.”
Add this to the messaging coming from the National Council of Canadian Muslims (formerly CAIR-CAN) Canada’s new “Islamophobia czar,” Amira Elghawaby, was its communications director from 2012-2017. The NCCM has campaigned for Canadian support to bash Israel’s alleged “expulsion of Palestinians from their homes and the attack on Palestinians worshipping in Al-Aqsa.” The organization also sent out an inflammatory plea for Canadians to “send a letter to all federal leaders on how insufficient Canadas [sic] response has been on the crisis in Palestine.” It accuses Israel of:
Attacks on journalists; the bombing of humanitarian facilities, the killing of physicians, including those leading the fight against COVID in Palestine, the blockage again of humanitarian aid into Palestine; and the refusal to accept a ceasefire.
Hiring debt collectors to go after Marouf is only scratching the surface about what’s wrong in the Canadian government. Let’s face it, $122,661 is a pittance compared to the kind of money the Heritage Department is spending on questionable people to manage Canada’s alleged “racism” problem. In 2021, Canada announced $20.4 million in funding for anti-racism projects. This amount was in addition to the $23 million followup funding to the Heritage Department’s anti-Islamophobia Motion M-103: “Taking Action Against Systemic Racism And Religious Discrimination Which Includes Islamophobia.” Out of the $23 million, the NCCM received funding, as well as IRFAN (which was designated a “terrorist entity” by the former Conservative government).
All Ottawa demonstrates by going after Laith Marouf after the fact is its attempt to defuse the public backlash. It is not addressing its much bigger problem.

You have no idea how big a problem we have in Canada

Yes… when the left takes over a government, it never relinquishes control unless the populace arises in utter frustration and throws them out. And Canada has been cowed into submission by it’s Leftists and it’s Muslim Jihadists.

Good luck getting that $$$ back
Hoi Polloi says
I’m certain you’re right that it’s merely an effort to improve their public image and that such a pursued pittance will impress no one.
What kind of bill includes “Religious Discrimination Which Includes Islamophobia” in its title, anyway? Negative thoughts now become criminal behavior in so many of these leftists’ actions against all but their own.
Double plus ungood.
