Former Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi, who was Canada’s first Muslim mayor — and, in fact, the first Muslim mayor of any major North American city — is throwing kerosene on the fire over the backlash against the government’s newly appointed “Islamophobia” czar, Amira Elghawaby. Nenshi is accusing Quebec and Canadian politicians of “playing a role” in “spreading ‘Islamophobia.'” He also stated that “Parliament must combat ‘radicalization of white people,” dismissing the fact that there are visible minorities who are also opposed to an “Islamophobia” czar. It is wrongly taken for granted that visible minorities all support the Leftist agenda, which includes an alliance with Islamic supremacists. Recall Joe Biden’s infamous and appalling statement that if black Americans didn’t vote for him, they “ain’t black.”
According to the Montreal Gazette:
The former mayor of Calgary says politicians can calm anti-Islamic tensions, but some choose to score political points instead….
He said in recent years, both federal and provincial politicians have used anti-Islam sentiment to score political points, and that is something that has to stop.
Nenshi addressed the controversy around the appointment of Amira Elghawaby as Canada’s first special representative on combating Islamophobia.
It is Nenshi who has the agenda. Canadian politicians are not “anti-Islam”; nor is the population. Instead, many Canadians are now demonstrating that they are opposed to an Islamic agenda, which is very different from being “anti-Islam.”
A justified pushback against the insult to Canadians that is constituted by the appointment of an “Islamophobia” czar, as Canadians don’t need an “Islamophobia” czar to watch over them, is now being met with even greater pushback from Islamic special interest groups and individuals, many of which benefit from government funding. That means they are funded on the backs of taxpayers who have little say the matter. These individuals and groups peddle the lie that the current backlash is “proof” of “hatred” of Muslims. On the contrary, the backlash indicates Canada’s refusal to accept:
1. the narrative that Islam is above all other faiths and is therefore deserving of special privileges paid for by taxpayers;
2. that Canada’s population of 38.25 million is “racist” and “Islamophobic”;
3. that Canadians should be censored from scrutinizing and criticizing Islam.
The involvement of aggressive special interest groups stirs up division, which these groups created in the first place and then harness as proof of victimization.
Also disturbing is the fact that the media shields these special interest groups. For instance, the CBC reportedly omitted Nenshi’s “white people” comments from its story, despite the pertinence of this information. According to the Western Standard:
In a story on former Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi talking about Islamophobia, CBC News omitted his comments that Canada must fight the “radicalization of white people in this country.”
The story was on the former mayor urging politicians to stand up for Amira Elghawaby, Canada’s first special representative on combating Islamophobia, at the Senate Committee on Human Rights.
Naheed Nenshi has a disconcerting history. In 2020, he gave mosques permission to “break noise bylaws” during Ramadan, and in 2021, he slammed anti-maskers as “thinly veiled white national supremacists.” Recall that, as reported by Newsweek, “Anthony Fauci wrote in February 2020 that store-bought face masks would not be very effective at protecting against the COVID-19 pandemic and advised a traveler not to wear one.” More information has emerged since then about the lack of efficacy of masks. Naheed Nenshi is yet another special interest powerbroker, employing the “Islamophobia” subterfuge and exacerbating divisions in Canada as he tries to intimidate and beat down “white people” and politicians who are in disagreement with him.

Trudeau doubtless loves him as much as he loves China since they are one in their hatred of Canadians who won’t bow to them.
So will these two accompany actual Canadians on a mission to install Canadians in positions across the islamic world so they can namecall and decry all the -isms in islam?

The reality is, he is a mozlum terrorist. mozlums fight continually….verbally, physically, violently …and one of the main ways is to lie about everyone else.
mozlums point fingers…the one-finger salute to satan for which bin laden was infamous (my daughter saw a clip of biden doing that salute)…and the other fingers they point at the rest of us in an accusation, claiming we do what they are doing…hating. mozlums hate everyone not exactly like them, and at the same instant, claim that they are hated and discriminated against, and lied about.
mozlums have two fears: fear of the Truth and fear of those who refuse to bow down to their demands and lick their dirty feet. So, they lie and terrorize.

Does Calgary have so many muslims/Leftists that it got a muslim mayor, even earlier than cities like Toronto or Montreal? It’s horrifying that their open borders have ruined Western cities like Calgary and Edmonton!
I’d like to see the good people of MB, SK and AB raise a big enough stink and force Ottawa to send all those ‘migrants’ to eastern provinces, where the Libs are in the majority
PRCS says
No.
Remember, Keith Ellison did not become Minnesota’s Attorney General as a result of that state’s Muslim population alone.
It took the votes of that state’s many “filthy unbelievers” for him to win that election.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Yeah, I did note Leftists as well. Muslims alone couldn’t get anybody elected mayor of any city

Yes, you did.
I stand corrected.

Mr. Spencer,
I follow your writings and various media productions regularly now over the past year or two. I have learned a lot from you and David Wood. Your academic writings are revealing about the true nature of Islam, what it prescribes and proscribes. As a Christian holding to the tenets of historical biblical (small ‘o’) orthodox Christianity my heart grieves for my Christian brothers and sisters around the world (and others) who suffer and die because of Islamic textual inspired violence directed against them. I think you are doing a huge public service for Christians, the persecuted and democracy.
Although I am a right-of-centre conservative politically speaking, and I find your partisan political commentary useful for pointing out the hypocrisy of the left, the veering of the left towards authoritarianism wokism, the graft and underhanded tactics of the left, and its cozy association with the forces of Islamic proselytization in the West, some of your messaging suffers from partisan hyperbole at times. This undermines your otherwise excellent work, in my opinion.
I do think that some of the partisan political rhetoric in your comments section, most particularly, comes across as crass and, well, overly partisan and a bit unhinged at times. Kind of a hate-fest feeling in the comments section. I also think that the quality of the comments in this comments section undermines your otherwise effective writing and messaging because many comments are so virulently, rhetorically anti-Islam, but not in a refined, rationally targeted way. Some of the commentary comes across as unglued hatred and it undermines your otherwise pointed and effective messaging which connects the prescriptions and proscriptions of Islamic texts and theology to jihad violence and activism around the world. You would be better off removing this comments section.

Not unlike the Left which has far more, the Right also has it’s extreme, (some raving nutjobs in my opinion) which for lack of other forums, expresses itself here.
I do my best to moderate the comments, but without reading them all it’s hard to fish out all the most ranty and illiterate ones, I do my best.
We did try for a number of months to limit commenting to only logged in authenticated users, but a couple of good commenters were unable to navigate the process, and we did loose a large number of good comments from unauthenticated passersby like yourself.
But the comments are useful, there are a smaller hard core who keep focused on the subject at hand, personally reading these has helped me in discussions with either end of the political spectrum, Mr Spencer himself likes for his own reasons to see a vibrant community around the site, I expect although never discussed it with him, it makes him feel less like he’s talking to a void. Being shadow banned on all social media must take it’s toll, but again I am not speaking for him.
If you want to assist, you can link to any ugly comments and send them to me using the contact us form on the right side bar.
Robert Spencer says
Hello Tanto.
I generally have no patience for these people who claim the comments reflect on me. I usually don’t even read them, and as I myself don’t say those things to which you object, so I don’t see how I’m responsible for them.
Cordially
Robert Spencer
Hoi Polloi says
As a commenter you may feel should be banned, I have to say that I refuse to frequent sites that do not have commenters because I have learned so much from the addition. I may see a link or some information that I can research that is not included in the article for any number of reasons. I have in this way deepened my understanding and sometimes changed my mind.
I fail to see this hyper-partisan bent on the part of Mr. Spencer or his contributors, but I would say that making the case, as they do, that islam is hyper-partisan, violent, dangerous, and a growing force in western governments who’ve abdicated responsibility to citizens is not for those who won’t make their case in a forceful manner.
Finally, Mr. Spencer is an American and we do still have the First Amendment. As someone who was targeted he defends free speech.

He may believe that I should be banned; but I feel that anyone who is afraid to say how evil islam is,
and afraid to say how that evil makes them feel,
and afraid to say that if not for those mozlums like the one discussed above ,islam could cease to exist,
islam will likely overtake them.
Hoi Polloi says
Yes, I’m never quite certain how silence is the proper approach, or that any Christian would command such with respect to this supremacist ideology.
somehistory says
Christians are commanded to imitate, to follow Christ, to walk as He walked; and Jesus spoke the Truth from His childhood, when He questioned the priests.
He spoke kindly to the general population and instructed His disciples in how they were to go about preaching the “good news.” He spoke Truthfully to the Pharisees and Sadducees and didn’t hold back, calling them “serpents, whitewashed graves, dirty cups,” ‘gagging over a gnat and swallowing a camel.’
To imitate Him, Christians must not be silent in the face of evil and lies.
The only time He remained silent was when the High Priest was demanding that Jesus say whether He was the Son of God. He knew they were out to get Him, forcing Him into blasphemy.
Hoi Polloi says
Right on, SH. Mark 6:17 For Herod himself had given orders to have John arrested, and he had him bound and put in prison. He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, whom he had married. 18 For John had been saying to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.
Speaking out against evil got John beheaded. Conversely, Mohammad took his son’s wife and rewrote adoption standards to sanction it.
A legitimate issue with a comment could have been mentioned but wasn’t. Instead, we are asked to comply with sharia and stay silent while powerful people cover Islam’s sins.
somehistory says
HP, I agree with you. Jesus even warned it would be this way, preparing Christians for the persecution for telling the Truth.
Others have also come here and insisted that the Truth about islam be hidden in order not to hurt the feelings of those adhering to the lies from satan.
“Powerful people cover islam’s sins.” yes. And they want us “to stay silent.” yes.
That’s like when Peter and the other Apostles were called before the Sanhedrin and told to stop talking about Christ.
We must reply as they did, “We can’t stop talking about the things we have seen and heard,” because, “We must obey God as ruler, rather than men.”
Violet says
Absolutely right somehistory. Keeping our mouths shut is exactly why they made up the word isl umafob bla bla It’s.to shut us up…and now they’re insisting western countries have basically blasphemy laws to shut us up.
I’m with you ….we can NOT be silented on this.

I really wondered how Calgary managed to get a muslim Mayor that immigrated to Canada and then decided the people that welcomed him into their country were all racist because they didn’t want to hear the screaming of allo snackbar all over their lovely City.
Perhaps this guy could be at the front of the Cattle during the next Calgary Stampede.
