“Thank you for registering and signing up to be one of our many volunteers who give their time to support our collective vision for a sustainable future in Wiltshire for people and wildlife.

There are now over 2,200 volunteers registered on our database and although I am aware that it has proved a challenge for some of you signing onto opportunities, it has many positives. Not only does it allow us to monitor how many volunteers we have, what opportunities they are involved in but it also ensures that you are insured, it is an easy way to promote events either to all volunteers or on individual opportunities with the chat/message system and it helps us to manage your information securely and in line with our privacy policies.

I find it so inspiring to reflect on all the different levels and kinds of contribution that our volunteers make. For some of you it’s about sharing your skills and expertise, whether in the office helping us with databases and accounts, or out on our reserves doing the conservation hard graft in all weathers. For others it can be emotional courage to transcend your own troubles and volunteer on our Wellbeing programmes to help others make a meaningful contribution.

For all of you, it’s the most precious gift of all that you’re giving: your time.

You give me hope that, with your support, the Trust can achieve our vision. We certainly can’t do it without you.
