Filtering the unfilterable: North West UK-based Evove raises £5.7 million

While perhaps not the first topic that comes to mind when you think net zero, filtration technology plays a far bigger role than you might imagine.
Filtering the unfilterable: North West UK-based Evove raises £5.7 million

Hailing from North West England, filtration membranes specialist Evove has raised £5.7 million in a new funding round that will see the company expand its manufacturing capacity through the creation of new facilities.

The round was led by At One Ventures, with AM Ventures participating. According to the company, existing investors Maven North West and the company’s founding private investor also continued their support of the firm.

Operating in a field that might not be your everyday dinner table subject of conversation, Evove’s technology helps answer some fundamental questions when it comes to sustainability: What if industrial process water was 10, 45, or 100 percent easier to recycle? What if there was no more waste in wastewater? What if there was a method to harvest lithium locally at a fraction of today’s costs? What if cleaning up heavy industry wastewater lakes was simple?

With the credo of filtering the unfilterable, Evolve uses nanotechnology and additive manufacturing processes and is delivering advanced membrane technology to reduce the impact of water filtration.

The company is more specifically targeting the lithium, green hydrogen, desalination, food and beverage, and water and wastewater industries.

On the investment, San Francisco-based At One Ventures’ Partner Helen Lin explains, “To fully transition to a net zero economy, we need to increase lithium supply and enable green hydrogen production. We believe in Evove’s ability to transform these sectors due to the strength of not just its technology but the team. They have a strong track record in delivering growth and investor returns, as well as a passion for creating scalable
industrial solutions.”
