4 “I won’t let anyone hurt you. Not even bend a hair on your head.” stars

“I’ve waited for you for twenty-five years. [..] You’ll love me, and you’ll be faithful and loyal. A good little omega. […] I’ll soak you in my cum, bring on your heat, and then I’ll breed you.”

Omegaverse isn’t my favourite genre or a genre that I read very often, but Roe Horvat could re-write the phone book and I would read every word, just waiting for what going to happen next, so thats how we got here. It’a not surprise that I loved this book. I don’t think that Roe Horvat has ever written something that I didn’t love, he just has a way of understanding everything I want to read about and then write it in a book. But this book specifically felt like it was made for me, this book just had all of my favourite things when it comes to books, and did everything exactly like I wanted it to be.

Brief Summary
Leo goes to a party at a club and he meets a super hot older man (Donovan) and they get together. Things happen and then the man tells Leo that he is a dragon and that they are mates. Leo is super shocked as he didn’t even know that dragons existed, but they fall in love in the process.

I don’t even know how to explain how much I enjoyed the content of this book. Reading this book felt like a super warm hug that just kept on getting better and better as time went on. Everything about the content of this book just really connected with it and I was such a fun of it. This book had my two favourite things to read about, really hot sex scenes and really cute hurt/comfort, so I was super into everything this book had to offer me.

Lets talk about the hurt/comfort in this book first because I just loved it so much. Leo has been hurt in the past because he was in a really awful relationship and a lot of it is still hunting him to this day. He’s super down on himself, doesn’t believe in himself and doesn’t trust anyone or love. But Donovan is determined to show Leo that he is perfect and that he is everything that Donovan has ever wanted. And I just adored reading about that so much. Donovan was always there for Leo and he was always comforting him and telling him how great it is. All of those scenes just melted my heart so much, they were just so adorable and I had the best of time reading them.

I also adored the relationship in this book. Leo and Donavan start off on shaky grounds and it takes a bit until they trust each other to be everything that they could ever need, but they don’t give up on each other, they keep fighting for it and trying to upon up to each other. I just found it so lovely how they kept fighting to be together. I loved how they kept working on their relationship and how they kept trying to find ways for their relationship to be perfect for the both of them. I loved how they were always ready to compromise and to listen to each other when something was wrong, to see how they could improve themselves, I just found this part of the lovely. Donovan had been waiting to find his mate for over 20 years and he had been so lonely his entire life, so all he wanted was to love his Leo and be with him, and I just adored that so much because Donovan cherished Leo in every ways that he could. I loved how Donovan always gave his undivided love ane attention to Leo. Donovan’s first goal in life was to be perfect for Leo and make sure that Leo was happy every seconds of every day, and I loved that so much. Their relationship just made my heart melt so much, they were just the best together.

Their romance just ended up being so mushy and sweet and reading all of their interactions put the biggest grin on my face. I just adored reading about their romance and their love of each other.

Side note, their romance was super obsessive and possessive, which is always a very good thing in my book. And I adored how it was done in this book.

Also, Donovan is super awkward and doesn’t know how to interact with people much, which is something that I can very much relate to. I found it so relatable how he didn’t know how to be in a relationship and how to take care of Leo at first. Everything about interacting with people was just a little awkward and harder for him to understand and I never related to a character so much in my life.

This is a book written by Roe Horvat, so it was always going to be hot. Roe Horvat always writes some of the best sex scenes I have ever read and he really achieved gold in this book because all of the sex scenes in this book were just so damn hot and absolutely perfect. This book was for sure one of the hottest book I have read in a while and I appreciated it very much. Also, the dirty talk was just so out of this world. It was made out of humiliation mixed in with praise, and it was just the perfect mix of both. I loved how Leo loved to be humiliated but told how perfect he is at the same time, it was just the perfect mix of everything and it was very hot to read too.

I had the best of time reading this book. This book just the perfect mix of scenes that put the biggest smile on my face and then scenes that made me droll due to how hot they were, which is always a lovely reading experience in my book.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion

"Love. The idea lifted years of pain and bitterness from my shoulders. This breathtaking man was going to love me."

My review is going to be long I'm sorry but it's Roe Horvat and Levity was one of my most anticipated reads of 2023.

We first met Leo in Unexpected and he was such an unlikable character. He had issues a mile long alongside just being an all round unpleasant person. So I can't even tell you how surprised I was when I learned he would be the omega that would finally capture the cold, jaded, bitter heart of Davidson and melt it. And you know what? Roe knew what he was doing because he was the perfect mate for a man like Davidson.

Leo is on the run from a narcissistic psycho alpha who abused, drugged and tormented him. He flees, leaving behind everything in Dalton to Ardaine in order to escape him. He knows that he'll never be free once that man captures him. However, after months of isolation, hiding and just not feeling like himself anymore, he decides to go to a high-class sex party where he encounters Davidson.

Davidson has been a bachelor for far too long and at 46, he is way passed the age for a dragon to have not met their mate. He is bitter, lonely, bad-tempered and losing hope. Davidson does not like skinny, bratty, mouthy omegas, especially ones who know how beautiful they are, yet he's drawn to Leo and realizes he's finally met his mate.

I loved loved Levity. I felt like Levity pushed new boundaries that I have yet to see in Roe’s past work. And goodness, did I enjoy it so so much. There’s so much hurt/comfort in this story as Leo has to unlearn self hate and issues he carries. He has desires and needs that other men have taken advantage of but with Davidson, he files.

"He was indeed perfect for me, wasn’t he? A snarky brat, vying to be punished—and I’d lure that side out to play soon enough—but he was also softhearted and timid on the inside, eager to please. I’d held back for the past two days, but Leo needed this. The bond was growing stronger, and I knew how to make my mate soar."

"Warmth spread in my chest, crackling and sparkling like fireworks, and I pulled in deep breaths, gorging myself on Leo’s scent, his sweat and juices, the perfume of his pleasure. My mate, aroused and pliant, full of me. Was I happy? The devil down underneath, I’d forgotten how it felt. Yes, I was. I was happy."

My heart broke for Leo over and over again as I learned more about his past, state of mind, and how he viewed himself. Leo is like a marshmallow, but life has caused him to have thorns and barbed wires to protect himself. As a defensive mechanism, he has learned to become reckless, self destructive and pushes away everyone. However, Davidson works to love, build, and protect his mate’s fragile heart. Davidson is honestly one of my favourite Alphas in all of the omegaverse stories I have read.

“In order to make you happy, I’ll do what I know you need. I’ll love you even more. I’ll prove to you that you are just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. I’ll get you pregnant, take care of you, hold you when you give birth, and we’ll raise him together.”

Erotic romance at its finest.

There is a lot of sex in this book. Roe can honestly write some of the best ever and I can read each and every scene and never get tired. There is no such thing as too much (for me). It never felt repetitive or unnecessary. I also felt each scene had a purpose, especially the BDSM and kink scenes between Leo and Davidson. Leo needs to submit and to please, and Davidson provides him with the space to fully give his body and mind over. When Leo starts to trust Davidson, he submits so beautifully, knowing his body, heart and mind are safe and treasured by his mate, his master. I loved the slave/master role play and the D/s dynamic between these two. The BDSM scenes and role-playing were written so well, and it was so them.

"He’d punish me and keep me in line, fuck me and hurt me"

"For Davidson, I could be good for real. I’d hoped he’d change me, and it was already happening. I was a better person because of him."

"This is who I am. I am a dragon’s mate. This is my purpose and the key to my happiness."

However, Davidson does not take the trust given to him lightly. Just as Leo worships, kneels, and gives himself to his master, Davidson gives himself wholly back to his omega. I've said it already, but I loved their dynamic and relationship so much! The power exchange, possessiveness, degradation kink, the humiliation, the dirty talk, the role-playing…I enjoyed it all.

“I love you,” I managed. “Yes, you do. You’ll love me forever.”

One thing I missed from the last book was the pregnancy. We get it in this book!! Honestly, Levity provided me with everything I have come to love about omegaverse. The lactation kink, the lover's milk….goodness and pregnancy and birth!!! Thank you so so much Roe. 100/10

I also enjoyed seeing Ernest, Lawrence, Manny and the whole Bracknell clan again!

This is a long book. I think it's the longest of Roe’s books I have read and I enjoyed each and every page, paragraph, sentence and word. I love long books and personally, I would have read another 200 pages. It did not feel tedious rather the pages flowed. I felt sad that the story would have to end. I usually reads books in one sitting, but sometimes when I love a so much book and do not want it to end I try to pace myself. I’ve become greedy and so spoiled by how long Levity was that I'm hoping Roe's future books will be as long.

Finally, this book gave me everything I wanted and more. This story may not be for everyone, especially if you are not into lots (and lengthy) sex scenes, BDSM or mpreg in your stories, but it was perfect for me and I'll be eagerly awaiting the next book in this series!

~3.5~

It took me far too long to realize that Leo is Richard's ex, Leonard, from Unexpected. Leo kept telling Davidson that he (Leo) wasn't a good human, but it wasn't until I remembered how terribly Leo had treated Carter that I started to believe him.

But Leo isn't a bad person, not really. He just needs to be kept, punished, and owned. He wants to be a fuckhole and belong to his master.

Leo was always meant to be a dragon's mate, and who better to discipline the spoiled omega than the cranky, aloof, powerful Davidson?

I liked this book significantly more than the first book in the series. While imo, the story is longer than it needs to be, the suspense plot held my interest.

Degradation and shame are not my kinks, and there's nothing sexy about childbirth, but I appreciate the way the author strips down his MCs to their barest instincts.

I'm curious about future dragon MCs: maybe Devon or Leo's hot, young alpha bodyguard?

"Yes."

shoutout to all my erotica-loving girlies because.... i might leave our gang. i feel like i'm the weakest link. maybe? maybe not? idk. i enjoyed this somehow but i was so fucking exhausted too. 450 pages of erotica from start to finish is very much an overkill in my opinion. look at me complaining about erotica.... for being erotica lmao. def skimmed the last chapters. i might not be one of those girls anymore who liked it.

Hmmmm I don’t know. It’s funny because I hated how mean and bratty Leo was in the book “Unexpected”, but I loved it in this book. I love a good brat, but then Leo got all obedient and submissive and I was like what? I don’t mind that dynamic in the bedroom, but I didn’t like how obedient Leo was outside of the bedroom. That’s also a me thing though, because the thought of anyone telling me what to do makes me want to riot. So basically, this was my least favorite book from this author. I DID love the childbirth scene. I’ve been wanting to read one for a while, and I’m glad Roe wrote one in this book. Even though he named the kid Rufus 😵‍💫

This is definitely the most sexual of the two books in this series but it also has an underlying message about self-worth and how to achieve it.

I will say from the start there were aspects of the kink in this narrative which aren't my favourite, however, as ever Roe handles them with skill and creates a hugely emotional and powerfully connected couple who use said kinks to cement their bond.

Leo is a lost soul, he's been badly treated in the past and believed he deserved it, he loves humiliation kink and servitude but it's all tied in to his belief he's a horrible person and worthless.

Once he meets Davidson and discovers he's a Dragon Mate, you can see the slow dawning of trust between them growing, even while Leo struggles to come to terms with the fact that dragons are real and the dreams he's had his whole life have been of his fated mate.

Davidson, in turn, finds it difficult to balance his need to make Leo happy with the knowledge that he has to make sure his younger mate knows he can say no and be free to make his own decisions both in and out of the bedroom.

The sex is as you'd expect from Roe, it's insanely hot, powerfully erotic and hugely emotive, it all serves a purpose and it isn't just thrown in for the sake of it.

I found the secondary plot in this one to be a little bit weaker than in book one, there's still the same kind of sense of a danger lurking in the background, in this case it's Leo's abusive ex, who he has fled from at the beginning of the book.

For me, though, I was just lacking a bit more of a build up to the reveal which I had guessed was going to be the case a bit earlier on. Still, those moments of tension are carried out with a lot of skill and the pacing is excellent once the threat becomes known.

We get lovely guest appearances from Lawrence and Ernest, as well as the wider Bracknell clan, and there's a beautiful Epilogue which had me smiling a lot.

This is another fab addition to Roe's wider shifter/omegaverse and I am very much enjoying the world he's created.

#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review

Levity is the second novel in Roe Horvat’s dragon shifter series Dragons of Ardaine. Both stories are standalones, but if you haven’t read Skydive I highly recommend it. Lawrie is adorable, and he’s got several marvelous scenes in Levity!

Roe Horvat writes such unique and interesting characters, and that’s one of the reasons his romances work so beautifully. I find the relationships which bloom between folks who so desperately need what the other offers are so incredibly satisfying. And, damn, Roe Horvat crafts them perfectly.

I love the straightforward expectations of the alphas and the omegas in these dragon omegaverse romances. The omegas are there to be dominated, and the alphas bend over backwards to see to their pleasure. The power of the mating bond is incredibly compelling, and Horvat emphases both the physical attraction as well as the emotional connection between the characters.

The intensity of the relief each man feels as the relationship progresses, the gradual changes which come over their personalities, strengthen their bond as well as strengthening each of them individually. The result is two secure and happy guys, who can now come together, and be their best.

Mixed in with all the sensual romancing, Roe Horvat includes some exciting action with an evil ex boyfriend. We get loads of very cool dragon stuff, as well as the unique and clever omegaverse from the Dalton City stories. Winner!

an arc of Levity was generously supplied by the author for the purpose of my honest review, all opinions are my own

It was way too long and I got bored A LOT, also the kink in the book is not my favorite so there's that.

I loved that Leo is the same character from Unexpected and that he gets redeemed and a happy ever after.

I didn't really like the pacing of the book and because of that the plot was wobbly and the twist happened at 70% of the book, leaving the last 100 pages for happy ever after story I guess. I don't know; I just didn't vibe with it. I really like Roe's stories but this was a miss for me.

While Skydive still kept an undercurrent of emotions among the smut, I felt Levity didn’t quite manage to do the same.
I know it’s primarily meant to be seen as omegaverse erotica, but the connection between Leo and Davidson felt only sexual.

Other reason I didn’t enjoy this installment as much as the first was the kinks, the main one being humiliation/degradation. Nothing wrong with it, it just doesn’t do anything for me.
The dirty talk just made me feel actually dirty and a little too over the top. I’m sorry, but ‘gaping fuckholes’ just makes me cringe.

“Fuck, omega, your ass looks like a hungry mouth.”

I’m not sure how I feel about that, but it certainly isn’t aroused.

Plot-wise, the twist was predictable, the villain too OTT, but what I really disliked was Leo’s complete personality change once he meets Davidson. He felt like a complete different person, and I kind of wished he kept more of his bratty & snarky side.

Overall, this was still a pretty entertaining read, just not entirely for me.

Tropes and NSFW info (spoilers):
- Dragon shifter x human (alpha x omega)
- Fated mates
- Mpreg
- Size difference
- MC with panic attacks
- MC with dick piercing

Roe is one of my few auto-read authors. It’s not very often I get excited to read anymore but I always look forward to that ARC email.

TW’s and CW’s: mpreg, on page birth, degradation and humiliation kink, Dom/sub themes, on page description of past sexual assault

If you read the first dragon book, do not expect the same vibe in this one. That’s not a bad thing. In fact, I appreciated the push and pull between two very imperfect characters. One is a snarky omega who had a tough life and just escaped an abusive relationship and the other an old and cantankerous dragon who gave up on finding his mate.

This is a Dom/sub relationship but not in the traditional contemporary sense. There is consent and safewords but beyond that, he doesn’t deep dive into the technicalities of the dynamic which was actually a relief lol. There is a lot of degradation and humiliation kink so avoid if this is not your thing. Roe leaves extensive content and trigger warnings at the beginning so be sure to read those.

And as always, we get the massively high steam in this. Just when I don’t think Roe can top himself when it comes to sex, he does. 😅 It’ll light your pants on fire over and over. But he also brings the sweetness and the utter devotion that comes with A/o bonding and I ate it up. I will say though that the story did feel a bit buried by the copious amounts of sex in this case. I love me some filthy sex but after a while I found myself skimming them to get to story progression.

I still look forward to everything Roe releases and can’t wait for more. Loved reading Leo and Davidson’s story.

I don't have anything to say about this book. Trying to discuss the plot of a Roe Horvat book is like those videos where some hot person with great assets is doing something mundane, and the caption will be like "what colour were their shoes?". That is to say that the plot is hardly the point. It was unfathomable shifter omegaverse smut with some pretty ick pregnancy stuff thrown in. If you're planning to read/have read this book, then you already know the vibe. If you've never read a Roe Horvat book before, please, this is not the place to start.

Levity - (Dragons of Ardaine Book 2)

Levity brings us together with some characters from Book 1 of Roe Horvat’s series ‘Dragons of Ardaine’. Davidson Sullivan is the billionaire owner of an Aerospace company that develops flight transportation methods for the future. Added to that he is himself a Shifter that can fly, a Dragon Shifter. A lonely Dragon Shifter who has not yet found his ‘one’, his lifelong mate. He is 46 years old and feels time is running out for him.

Leonard Chase is a 26 year old male model who has just arrived in Ardaine after fleeing from a vile partner. He has cut all his business involvement and his apartment in Dalton City and now calls himself Leo.
Leo is an attention seeker, out in all his fabulousness, clothes, makeup and sexual needs, dirty talk, need to be humiliated and submissive.

Fed up of hiding in his new home in Ardaine he goes to a social gathering that offers to meet all his needs. A masquerade party. He is totally into it and dresses outrageously. Immediately he draws attention and interest from a man with his snarky banter and looks. However within minutes he runs away from him, fleeing the scene. Outside and running he gets cornered by two men who proceed to beat him and get him into a car.

He feels like he’s lost his mind when he is swept up off the ground, wrapped in wings and placed on a rooftop.

That’s when Leo meets Davidson Sullivan for the second time, a time he will remember forever.

Leo is such a complicated character with so many wants and needs that aren’t very good for him. Davidson wants to give him everything, but Leo doesn’t know what’s good for him, Yet.

Grab this story by Roe Horvat, it lives up to all expectations and more from this writer. Meet several characters from ‘Skydive’ Book 1 in this series, Lawrence and Ernest story. If you haven’t already, read book 1 first. You certainly won’t regret reading this series.

Loved it.

A stunning read that was equally parts heartbreaking and heartwarming. Yes, there's a whole lotta steam (LIKE A LOT AND I'M NOT MAD ABOUT IT) but this book is really about two people learning how to let down their walls and be in a healthy, communicative relationship. I don't want to give too much away because Levity is a book that you have to experience for yourself. That fact that this it was more than 400 pages and just flew by, says a lot!

Levity was also unexpectedly HILARIOUS. My favorite scene had to be when Davidson is flying in his dragon form and talking on a cell phone. I actually laughed out loud.

Pick up this book if you're into: BDSM, age-gap (20+), size difference, shifter romances (dragon shifter)

*I'm not exaggerating about the amount of sex, y'all. I'm pretty sure there's at least one sex scene in each chapter*

But imagine giving birth to a dragon shifter baby and naming him RUFUS 😩😭

CW: domestic violence, kidnapping, childbirth

I'm so glad that this book was about Davidson finding his mate. We caught glimpses of him in the last book as a side character and knew that he was a bachelor for far longer than dragon shifters usually were. So it was so nice that we got his happy ever after.

There was slightly more angst in this one, with Leo being a little afraid of him and Leo's ex being a little crazy. I also loved the character development we get to see in Leo.

Still all the crazy smut you expect with Roe Horvat, but again, like I said in my review of the first book, I wish there was a little more kinky shifter stuff happening. Like the possibility is there and my dirty brain just wants that sometimes.
“But I’ll love you like nobody has ever loved you before. You’ll be a dragon’s treasure.”

It was an easy read and I did enjoy myself though!

Quite enjoyable.

I liked the length of the book.

The MC's deep issues and self loathing were not really explained. I also wasn't terribly impressed by by how that MC felt about things towards the end. It felt like 1950s propaganda.

All in all though, I enjoyed the story, the elements of world building and look forward to the next one.

Amazing

That is what I would say if I enjoyed all of everything but i didn't🥲 this was my most anticipated book this year I was really looking forward to this, I loved the last book so much and I thought Davidson was a great character so when this came out I thought I would love it😃

"The most beautiful man in the world was my mate."

Soooo Davidson is kinky which hey love that for him but I had no clue, I'm not a fan of the whole BDSM degrading subservient stuff and that's all in here, Roe Hovart really went ham with that.

I mean I still read the whole book I liked the overarching plot and the pregnancy, the characters are written well enough and this is definitely an erotica I did not enjoy the bdsm I probably should have looked at other reviews because I honestly did not know but it's still a Roe hovart book so I'd say 8/10.

Escaping an alpha who wanted to keep him prisoned was one thing, running into the next alpha who said they can’t be apart anymore because he’s a dragon and they are fated mates, was something else.

Leo is convinced he is a bad person, he needs to be put in place and deserves punishment. He has to try to be as obedient as possible, now he belongs to Davidson. Davidson did make it clear, he can’t leave ever.

The story is about bonding, growing, and self-acceptance, there are a whole lot of sexy scenes and a whole lot of emotional moments.

In the beginning, I had trouble with Leo, every time he did something I didn’t have a clue if he was honest or not. It was a bit exhausting. Was he real, did he fake? It did make sense when I got further into the story.

“Hold on. We’re going home.”

There’s sex of course, in all the possible ways, with all the matching possible feelings, loving, filthy, reassuring, demanding, never once repetitive. I love watching both Leo and Davidson grow together, subtly changing into the creatures they truly are.
It’s a pretty extended read, maybe a bit too, but never boring, the author always writes super enthralling!
I loved this story so much, maybe even more because there’s so much unconditional love to find, so much love, pure love, my heart was so happy.

Low on plot and so low attention span for me. It got repetitive so it was also a bit too long as well without more plot to balance out. I definitely prefer the Winter Suns series.

Levity by Roe Hovart

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When I read book no 1 in Roe Horvat “Skydive” I didn’t knew I need dragon-shifters in my life!
But I did, and when I got the chance to Arc read Levity I was so happy

In book no 2 we met Leo, a sweet man that was treated badly. He is a big fan of humiliating kink, but sometimes this makes him believe he’s worthless

Leo meets Davidson, dragon with a big D. But he have lost faith in ever finding a mate.

Davisson saves Leo from a former lover, makes Leo believe in himself and believe in the love between them

If you have read other of Roe’s books you know that Roe have a special way of writing sex scenes, and in this book you are in for some steam. And at the same time you get sweet, and intimate feelings

If you like dragons, humiliating kink, steam and love this book is for you

Levity is out on March 21 -2023

I have received this book as a ARC

Roe Horvat proving once again, he is the king of OV *filth* in a way that is just absolute over level of top dirty talk that can’t even be defined. There was a heavy dose of hurt/comfort in the relationship dynamic between Davidson & Leo that was sooo tender (but also, they’re kinky… so… no TOO tender)

plus….. DRAGONS!!
And Lawrence was even better as the supporting character personal assistant that Davidson was low key scared of… how the tables have turned!!!

Recommend. Obviously.

DNF @ 22% - unfortunately this book has the opposite of everything I loved about the first book plus non-con that I’m sure some would argue is dub-con. I also got really confused by how neither of the MCs really has a set personality and they were all over the place. I don’t know, this book felt a bit thrown together and underdeveloped and it has some stuff that I personally don’t want to read about.

I loooved Skydive but this one wasn't for me. Leo was such a bitch in Unexpected but I still felt sorry for him. He was so dismayed by Richard's rejection when he was just trying to do what they had always done in their relationship, and I was so looking forward to reading his story.

However, no shade to others who are but I am not really into fetishized pregnancy, delivery, or nursing so I couldn't really get into this one. I carried twins and nursed them both until they were over a year, and although I absolutely loved the emotional connection from being pregnant and nursing, nothing about any of that was physically enjoyable. So I guess it's difficult for me to imagine having an orgasm while in labor. Also, nursing itself is often physically uncomfortable if not outright painful, and I get that the "lover's milk" thing is supposed to be erotic and not like the production of milk for the babies but I just can't.

I don't think I care for the Master/slave dynamic either, which I'm surprised by because I love a Daddy/boy relationship or regular D/s. Master/slave just seems so passive, like the slave is allowed to state their own preferences or whatever but it's legit only because they're allowed. If they weren't allowed to do so they wouldn't. Idk, I can be quite literal when it comes to language so I'm probably just literally applying these words and misinterpreting.

Anyway, this one wasn't it for me but I will continue to read Roe Horvat's books because the characters are always well-developed and loveable, and the stories are always imaginative and well-written. I can skip over any parts that I'm not into (which is what I ended up doing a lot in this book).
