Smotrich is right in this. PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein said this in 1977:
The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.
For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.
The “Palestinian” nation was invented as a tool of the jihad against Israel. Instead of tiny Israel surrounded by huge and hostile Arab states, the picture suddenly changed to the powerful Israeli war machine victimizing an even tinier people. Find out more about this in The Palestinian Delusion.
“Israeli minister says there’s ‘no such thing as a Palestinian people,’ inviting US rebuke,” by Hadas Gold, Amir Tal and Abeer Salman, CNN, March 21, 2023:
Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich denied the existence of a Palestinian people or nationhood over the weekend, prompting a rebuke from the United States just weeks after calling for a Palestinian town to be “erased.”
Smotrich, a Jewish nationalist, argued that the idea of Palestinian nationhood was invented in the past century in response to the Zionist movement to found modern-day Israel.
“Who was the first Palestinian king? What language do the Palestinians have? Was there ever a Palestinian currency? Is there a Palestinian history or culture? Nothing. There is no such thing as a Palestinian people,” Smotrich said at a speech in Paris.
US National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby on Monday objected to the comments, saying they would not help to calm tensions in the region.
“We utterly object to that kind of language. And It’s extremely unhelpful to – again – trying to de-escalate the tensions and trying to find a viable two-state solution going forward,” Kirby said, speaking to Israeli Channel 13. “We don’t want to see any rhetoric, any action or rhetoric – quite frankly – that can stand in the way or become an obstacle to a viable two-state solution, and language like that does.”
The Palestinian Authority presidency slammed Smotrich’s remarks as “racist,” calling them “an attempt to falsify history.”
In a statement, the PA asserted that the Palestinian people “have existed on this land forever.”
Hamas, the militant Palestinian Islamist movement that runs Gaza and calls for Israel’s destruction, also called Smotrich’s comments racist, saying they “clearly reflect the fascist policies of colonial settlement expansion and forced eviction of the Palestinian people, on which the occupation state was founded,” in reference to Israel….

Any one in a foreign government speaking the Truth, should be ready for the u.s. government to *rebuke* and call foul. The *executive branch*…including the state department, is made up of liars and those who assist evils…such as biden and his assistance to china and the plo.
there is evidently no terror state that biden and crew dislike.
As those enlightened are aware, mozlums tell what they intend, and admit to lying, but then if someone quotes those mozlums, that one is called out for racism, discrimination, lying, etc. by both infidels and mozlums….who wish to further the advance of islam.

Actually, the ancient Philistines recorded in the Bible and history came from the Greek Islands and some parts of the mainland Greece. They have no connection, at all, the to the Arab /Muslim of modern times who called themselves the “Palestinians.”
From those ancient people, the Philistines, the word “Palestine” .came into being.
There is no genuine ethic group or race who are the “Palestinians.”
Early in the last century a anyone living in that land, Arab or Jew, who lived in that land was called a ”Palestinian.”
Only after 1967 did the Arab/Muslims start to refer to themselves , exclusively , by the word “Palestinian.”
The reason for that is that they felt that by giving themselves that title they would appear to have some kind of valid claim on that land.
Furthermore, the truth is the God had given all this land that now composes the State of Israel, including all of the West Bank, to the Jewish people. This may be found in the Bible, as seen in, for example, Genesis 28:13-15. 35:10-12. Deuteronomy 32:48,49. Psalm 105:7-11. 135:4.
In other words the Jews have tall this land by Divine Right. Furthermore, the Jewish people should have this land by historic rights as shown in First Kings 4:20,21, 24,25. 8:55, 56.

Thats a lot of history without a Palestinian state or people. So why are so many people over the past 80 yrs. (a short period in human history) so hell bent on declaring this false history?
Walter Sieruk says
Those malice-filled “Palestinians” are so terrible that they even praised a jihadist who murdered to little Jewish boys. What a murderous coward that vicious jihadist had proven himself to be.
By praising that jihadist they are exposing their lawless Islamic hearts, Lawless they indeed are . For the Ten Commandants of God, One of those ten instructs “You must not murder” Exodus 20 :13. [N.K.J.V.]
Related to this the Bible reads “Those who forsake the law praise the wicked , but such as keep the law contend with them.” Proverbs 28: 4.
Surely the Israeli police and military to “contend’ with those violent and murderous jihadists.

Anyone notice how Kirby said it was “unhelpful” but never said it was false.
Nobody is telling Arab muslims that they have to leave the territory of Palestine.
How is the “Palestine” of Jordan any different from the “Palestine” of Israel?
When did losing a war you started end with you dictating the terms of a dishonest ceasefire?
How many more wars must Israel win before they can have some semblance of peace within their own borders?
How many more treaties or fake “land for peace” (always without the actual peace) deals must we witness before the world realizes that they are dealing with a bad faith actor who will never negotiate an honest compromise?
The “Palestinians” have NEVER wanted a so-called two-state solution, they want nothing less than the complete annihilation of Israel.
We used to understand that you should not and cannot negotiate with terrorists. It doesn’t work because the other side is never negotiating but rather simply buying time until the next intifada.
Rob (Robin) Blair Harris says
From Barry Shaw’s book ‘1817’
‘There were two migrations into Palestine. The Jews and Arabs entered the area in numbers at more or less the same time. The Jews arrived for ideological reasons. The Arbs came to find work. A huge part of the work was provided by Jews.’
…
‘In the late 19th Century, Arabs migrated into Turkish-held Palestine attracted by the energetic development of settlements into towns like rosh Pina, Petach Tivka, Rishon le Zion and Tel Aviv’
…
Many Palestinian Arabs have names that actually identify them as coming from Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Yemen, Afghanistan, syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq.
…
‘Would these masses have moved to Palestine if not for the Zionist enterprise taking shape?’
…
Worth noting that Jordan like Israel was formed out of the British Mandate. The Hashemites (Jordanians) were ‘first cab off the rank’ when the Mandate was apportioned. That was around 1925. Israel was 1948 a tragic delay.
Raja says
Robin,
Very informative piece for me. Sounds reasonable. But I like your last words tragic delay. I have been told by some Americans that the Western leaders around the first half of last century made a mistake of “creating” Israel in 1948 as the Jews are no longer God’s people according to New testament. A lot of people seem to struggle to have a holistic view of Israel.
libertyORdeath says
I support the creation of the Israeli state because I believe they have a right to exist in peace, regardless of other political motives.
The jews were forced out of muslim countries by the millions, then forced out of Europe as well.
As Rob stated, they could’ve made a life in Ottoman Palestine for centuries, but only decided they were “Palestinians” when the Jews showed up and made the place livable.
Just as Americans and Europeans SHOULD have sovereignty over their countries (even though they no longer do), so should the Jews have sovereignty over Israel and be afforded the peace and security that every nation deserves.

I have missed your comments; glad you could return. Sometimes, I feel it necessary to be absent at times.
the bill to ban Christians from preaching the good news would have been a very bad idea had it passed. Mr. Netanjahu realized just what the cost could be, evidently.

Theres no denying that Israel is set up to be a religious ethno-state, but why the hostility towards Christians in particular when they are surrounded by muslim enemies who wish for nothing less than their total destruction?
White Christian antisemites definitely exist, but they are a tiny minority compared to the majority of over 1.5 BILLION muslims who view jews as monkeys and pigs ripe for slaughter.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
I think I can answer this, despite not being a Jew. Israel was set up as a state not just for ethnic Jews, but also for people who practice the Jewish faith. It’s the one spot in the world where Jews can freely practice their faith in full scope – as in Jewish festivals being holidays, the Jewish Sabbath being the day the country is on holiday and so on. Essentially, it’s the one spot in the world that is Jewish, and shouldn’t be threatened not just w/ terrorist, but also w/ religious or cultural extinction. Incidentally, same argument exists in India w/ Hindus: while a lot of countries have freedom of religion, that is the only country where Hindu festivals can be celebrated all year long w/o raising eyebrows the way they would in other places
I get that Christians are enjoined to spread the ‘good news’, but they need to recognize their limits and stop trying to convert everybody in the world. In that sense, they are the religious equivalent of the Davos/WEF globalists: just like the latter want a single world order, the result of all that preaching, taken to its logical end, would be a single world religion, even if Christians don’t explicitly wanna do it the same way muslims so brazenly and aggressively wanna do it
All Christian preachers should focus in Western countries in preaching the gospel to the millions of evil people who wanna advocate ‘gender-affirming care’, provide abortion services for up to a month after birth, and hordes of other people who wouuld benefit by having Christianity subsitute hedonism in their lives, instead of going to third world countries and try convincing them that they are the rubes of the world

There is no limit to US hypocracy and no limit to the shamelessness with which US officials are willing to submerge themselves. I was glad to learn that the “Palestinians” are a people. Who are their best-known musical composers? Who are their best-known musicians ? Where is their national art repository ?
There will come a time when the civilised world no longer has to endure US duplicity, US stupidity, and US treachery.
Sadly these things will only happen when the PRC is running the USA; but then we shall get similar rubbish from them, no doubt.

Bezalel Smotrich is right! It would be one thing if the ‘Palestinians’ were descendants of the Philistines. They’re not: they’re descendants of Arabs who invaded from Syria and then went on to overrun Egypt, Tripolitania, Mahgreb, Iberia and so on. As is well known, before 1967, they were simply known as ‘Arab’!
The US, of all governments, should be the last to tell any other country whether they are true about themselves. We Americans have one of the world’s worst geography awareness and have little idea about other people – just do a Jay Leno type man-on-the-street interview and ask them about other random countries in the world (and I’m not even getting into what they know about other states). So the State Department, regardless of who’s in power, should stop telling other countries whether or not they’re right about their own demographic analysis
