One of the best black metal albums I know. The unique mixture, in which other elements are also absorbed, evokes an emotional state between despair, sadness, but also aggression and wrath.

Easily one of the best albums of the year, Ranā skillfully combine the extremest elements of black metal with the meditative ones of post-rock and shoegaze. The resulting potion is a transcendental record that explores arcane and unknown territories while never failing to stay warmly familiar.

The first album is already a very good one, but the second is even better! It contains again nature black metal, quite melodic, but also wild, with some folkloristic elements, full of atmosphere and performed with passion. For me, BLACKBRAID fits well into the same category as other epic one man bands like Saor, Ruadh or Pure Wrath. Besides the catchy and quite straight opener "The Spirit returns", I mention the mightiest track "Moss covered Bones on the Altar of the Moon" as my favourite song!

Saw Dödsrit play live on tour with Blackbraids and Lamp of Murmuur, but to be honest I went only for Dödsrit :)) Amazing melodic black metal with crust punk influences. Very highly recommended to check out their entire discography. Quality not quantity.
