Resurgence: A Military Age Gap Romance (The Shadow Series Book 3) by Shelby Gunter. This book is not a standalone.
Resurgence is a continuation of the story from Relentless. Jackson and his team are tasked with protecting Thia when she is put up for sale on the black market. Jackson knows he shouldn’t get involved with Thia, but finding it difficult to stay away.
This book is a great fast paced action romance and thankfully answered the questions that came up from book 2. I really liked Jackson and Thia’s flirty banter. I wish there was more of a build up with Jackson and Thia’s relationship, but I understand it needed to be fast paced to keep up with the action of the story. The sexy scenes are hot. It also kept me on my toes of trying to figure out who is good who is bad. I enjoyed that this book went full circle from the first story and made a great conclusion of the series with questions answered with a HEA, and didn’t leave me hanging. I would like to see more of Declan in the future and hope he could get a book of his own.

I am so in love with these people!!! I love this author and her words!! I am so wrapped up and hoping for more of the guys that are on Jackson’s team! Everything I wanted for Thia and so much more!!
This story I knew would be crazy from the others but my goodness the drama and baggage that Thia carries is such a heavy load!! From one thing to the next she was tested and oh my goodness did I get giddy at the times she knocked it out of the park!! I couldn’t help but jump up out of my seat and fist bump the air I was so excited!!
Jackson didn’t do exactly what I had hoped but things settled for themselves. I am a little overwhelmed by the guys on his team and can’t help but to wish for their own stories!!
This was seriously everything I had hoped for and more with the shocking moments that shook me! I have never outwardly talked to a book with excitement or anger as much as I did this one. I couldn’t put it down from beginning to end loved it all!! Congrats!!

My, my, my. I love this author, this genre is new too me an she hit it out the park. It, was thrilling each page, such a page turner The storyline of Jackson Beaumont an Thia Ames is a military age love story with plenty of mystery. ‘ Jackson is size imposing and his presence is commanding. This mercenary unit is no joke with there assignments. Characters from the previous books answers cliffhangers an Jackson’s Mother needs her own storyline. Plot was filled with ups an downs, storyline was unexpected. Realistic an fast paced. This is a honest review for a ARC.

Jackson and Thia
This was one of the most intense books I’ve read in awhile. It was the perfect ending for this trilogy. All the questions were answered. Questions I didn’t know I had were answered. There were so many twists and possible villains it kept me guessing.
At first I really questioned how Thia and Jackson would make a believable couple because of their age difference, but it really worked. Thia was not the average 19 year old and was very aware of that. She’d been through more than most people ever would and came out fighting. She was such a brave character and worked to make herself better both mentally and physically. And Jackson was the perfect partner for her. He supported her and didn’t baby her. He held her up when she needed it but also acknowledged her individual strength. By the same token, Jackson needed someone who could accept his own inner demons and bring some light into his life and Thia did just that for him.
The suspense in this book was intense. I don’t think there was a moment to take a breath. Thia really couldn’t just catch a break, the number of times she was kidnapped was a little ridiculous, but she continued to fight her way back to Jackson. I loved the introduction of Jackson’s team and I’m hoping there will be a Nightfall series in the future because they were quite the characters.
As I said at the beginning, this was the perfect ending to this trilogy. I loved that all three couples got their happily ever afters. I loved that everything was so well wrapped up. The one thing I thought was missing was Thia returning to Italy for a visit, but I think that’s just a personal preference and not something that would have added or taken away from the plot.

Be Prepared to Read in One Sitting
This book was so much more than what I anticipated. Be prepared to NOT put this book down. So many twists and turns. The resiliency of Thia and the patience of Jackson was the perfect backdrop to their relationship. I will definitely read this again.

Jackson falls for a nineteen year old Thia, she's working to put a life together after being saved.
I would recommend this book and the others in the series for adults that enjoy reading stories that are suspenseful with a happily ever after.

What a great series, I've just read it for the second time and it's so well written, just about the right amount of everything to keep you turning the pages, I'm very much looking forward to Shelby's new series coming out soon ❤️

Mi humilde opinión:
La serie The Shadow culmina con la historia de Jackson y Thia.
Jackson no pudo evitar querer a Thia desde la primera vez que vio. Él es casi veinte años mayor y ella está totalmente fuera de los límites ... hasta que la ponen en venta en el mercado negro y tiene que protegerla con su equipo de seguridad y se le hace difícil mantener su corazón alejado de ella.
Me encanta la acción y suspenso de los libros de esta serie y este no defrauda en ese sentido. Es una lectura que me atrapó con la tensión, acción, drama y la dinámica de los personajes. Me mantuvo enganchada hasta el final.
El romance es instantáneo y con una brecha de edad. Jackson (37) es un ex SEAL y líder de una empresa de seguridad y Thia (19) es una muchacha que fue salvada de una red de trata de personas. Me gustó la química y sus interacciones eran lindas con muchos momentos de pasión. Él era tan dulce y comprensivo con ella y ella pasó por un infierno pero mantuvo su fuerza y no permitió que esto la venciera. Fue difícil leer sobre los traumas que le causó el jefe mafioso cuando la tenía en cautiverio, y me gustó que la autora no lo borrara de la noche a la mañana sino que lo pone como un trabajo en progreso que es lo más realista con las mujeres abusadas.
Si tengo que decir algo que me molestó fueron las veces en que Thia fue drogada para después secuestrarla. Me pareció demasiado repetitivo.
No me gustó su padre apareciendo de la nada y queriendo ser un héroe. Él abandonó a su hija y no entendía cómo nunca la buscó ... así que no me sorprendió que estuviera detrás de todo, el tráfico de personas y la lista negra. Para mí fue un giro predecible en la trama. Creí que el abuelo era el villano pero lo descarté enseguida, sin embargo me pregunté cómo tampoco dio con ella con el poder que tenía como Don.
Los personajes secundarios me gustaban mucho, me gustaría que los ex soldados del equipo de seguridad de Jackson tengan sus propios libros. El grupo original que comenzó a destapar la red de trata empezando por Hailey y Dax, Lizzy y Isaac aparecen también para terminar el trabajo y atrapar al llamado The Captain. Tengo que decir que adoré la relación padre e hija que tenian Dax y Thia.
Más allá de mis "peros" o detalles que me picaron, la historia me gustó y la disfruté. Estaba contenta con la conclusión porque ató todos los cabos y me respondió lo que quedó pendiente. El epílogo es el perfecto HEA para Thia, me alegré que tuviera ahora personas que la amaran.

What a perfect ending to an amazing trilogy! Thia had been kidnapped and sold as a sex slave, but despite all the torture she endured she has an inner strength that kept her from losing her mind. Jackson started a security firm right after his discharge from the Marines and although they take on mostly government contracts, he and his mercenaries joined in to find the monsters behind the worldwide trafficking ring.
This book is action-packed from page one and will keep you turning the pages as the mystery starts to unfold. Everything is connected...Hailey, Lizzy and most of all Thia. MAJOR PLOT TWIST! Everything finally makes sense and believe me when I say it is a shocker.
Each of the books in this series has their own HEA, but to fully understand the major storyline they need to be read in order. For those with triggers, this series deals with human sex trafficking but this author does an awesome job and especially in her betrayal of Thia.
Highly recommend! Looking forward to stories for the men of Nightfall Security...hint, hint.

The final book in The Shadow’s series was everything we needed it to be and more! Thia is in trouble…she is on the black list. Jackson is ready to protect her at all costs, especially now that he can’t get her out of his head. Thia has been though a lot so he wants to be careful with her and go at her pace…which is super sweet. As these two start to bond and get closer things around them keep happening. Jackson has a team of former military men that are working around the clock to help protect Thia. Of course Dax, Hailey and that amazing group are on board to give any support that is needed. Between the hackers, military experience and all around kick butt people Jackson and Thia have a lot of support. As they try and unravel who is behind this they are also still trying to find out who was behind the trafficking ring?!? Can it all be related? This was a great read and I couldn’t have loved Jackson and Thia anymore than I did. She was done being a victim and she wanted to fight back and be part of this amazing group. Jackson was supportive and loving with her and together they had a undeniable connection. This series has been so enjoyable and entertaining for me. It has been emotional but at times funny with the quick banter between friends. If you haven’t read this series do so now. They are quick paced reads with an amazing story to tell and I promise You won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next. Part of me is hoping that it has something to do with Jackson’s team!

The conclusion to the shadow series, and we finally have all the answers! And what a twist that was!
Poor Thia. She can’t catch a break. I mean, how many times can one person be kidnapped? Thankfully she has the help of Jackson and Nightfall, along with the previous couples, Dax, Hailey, Lizzy and Isaac.
This is a continuation of everything going on in the past two books, but focuses mainly on Thia and her being put on the black list to be sold, and Jackson. Their budding romance, even with the reservations from Jackson because of their large age gap. However, he will do anything to protect her.
Considering Thia’s past, she had received some training and self-defense moves that helped her in more ways than just one. Not to mention, because of everything she had been through, Jackson being so patient and understanding of what she needed and what he could do to help her through it all. Thia was a very strong character and unfortunately, had to grow up fast. But, she didn’t want to have to rely solely on someone else to always rescue her, so she took matters into her own hands and defended herself the best she could.
This was everything needed in a conclusion, and I’m glad we got all the answers we had been seeking from the beginning.

She is put through the wringer in this book and doesn't give up. She seems to get stronger instead of just waving a white flag. I think Jackson has a lot to do with this about with Dax and Hailey who were her rock in book one.
I really loved all the couples (Dax and Hailey, Lizzy and Isaac, and now Jackson and Thia). The story is a continuation of the main plot of human tracking but this time Thia is in the thick of it because she is on the blacklist site to be sold. Everyone is working hard to figure out who is behind this and put a stop to it. Jackson fights to do his job to protect Thia but it means much more to him because of his feelings for her. OMG!! I absolutely LOVED Resurgence!! This romance/thriller was action packed and so exciting to read. The mix of steamy romance and suspense has you hooked throughout the book and the steam between Jackson and Thia is HOT!
These characters are full of the most incredibly endearing character bonding. Shelby does an excellent job investing in the character development throughout the book. Thia and Jackson are the best!

Thia and Jackson's story was everything I could have hoped for and more. Thia is in trouble and jackson will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Along with his nightfall teammates and the two couples from the other two books, they work to unravel a mystery and save thia in the process. The characters become so real to the reader and you become part of the story. Thia and Jackson's connection is so strong. Jackson is super sweet and patient with thia. I loved thia's character. She is so strong and resilient. This series was full of great characters, mystery, twists and turns, and wonderful relationships that prove family is not always by blood. If you haven't read this series, get the series today. You won't be sorry. I hope we get books by this author for all of Jackson's team. As usual, shelby hit another home run with this book!

What a third book. They may be Soldiers of Fortune and tough but when it comes to falling in love they’re great. Protecting Thia seems to be an important factor. Romance, danger and secrets all the way to the end. Don’t miss out once it’s released.

I loved this entire series! While I was going crazy with questions from the previous books, I was so glad Jackson and Thia’s story answered everything (with a twist I NEVER saw coming!! ! And Jackson, he’s a fine piece of wine! ;)
