FRIENDSHIP ON FIRE
Sneak Peek: SEA OF LOVE

LOVERS AT HEART, REIMAGINED
Treat Braden wasn't looking for love when Max Armstrong walked into his Nassau resort, but he saw right through the efficient and capable facade she wore like a shield to the sweet, sensual woman beneath. One magnificent evening together sparked an intense connection, and for the first time in his life Treat wanted more than a casual affair. But something caused Max to turn away, and now, after weeks of unanswered phone calls and longing for the one woman he cannot have, Treat is going back to his family's ranch to try to finally move on.
A chance encounter brings Treat and Max together again, and it turns into a night of intense passion and honesty. When Max reveals her secret, painful past, Treat vows to do everything within his power to win Max's heart forever--including helping her finally face her demons head-on.
DESTINED FOR LOVE
BRONZE MEDAL WINNER, Readers' Favorite Awards, Romance Sizzle
Love hot cowboys?
Rex Braden is wealthy, hard working, and fiercely loyal. Sweat at his brow, he works the family ranch by day, then kicks back at night with part time lovers who require nothing more than his physical presence a few times each week. But that was before. Before Jade Johnson, the daughter of the man his father has been feuding with for over forty years, moves back into town.
After ditching a horrific relationship--and her veterinary practice in the process--Jade Johnson returns to the safety of her small hometown and finally finds her footing. That is...until her horse is injured and Rex Braden comes to her rescue. The last thing she needs is a bull-headed, too-handsome-for-his-own-good Braden complicating her life.
Despite the angry family history, sparks fly between Rex and Jade, and attitudes follow. Fifteen years of stifled, forbidden love stirs a surge of passion too strong for either to deny--and the rebel in each of them rears its powerful head. Loyalties are tested, and relationships are strained. Rex and Jade are about to find out if true love really can conquer all.
FRIENDSHIP ON FIRE
SILVER MEDAL WINNER, Readers' Favorite Awards, Romance Sizzle
Small-town overachiever Riley Banks has finally scored her big break--working in Manhattan as a fashion design assistant for her childhood crush, Josh Braden. She enters her new job hoping to make a name for herself and--just maybe--explore the romance that slipped through her fingers way back when.
Josh Braden has models at his beck and call, a staff that never says never, and an elegant clothing line for the holiday season. When he hires Riley Banks, he expects her to learn the business from the ground up. But the girl next door turns out to be much more than he remembered.
Josh and Riley's friendship heats up. Every steamy kiss and every passionate caress stirs a love they cannot deny. But when Riley designs a wedding gown that would cause even the most jaded fashion editors to swoon, Riley's mentor accuses her of stealing the designs.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2019I really like collections/boxed sets from authors and this is a great set of the first three books from Melissa Foster, The Bradens at Weston. Each of these books is great on their own but I like where you can easily read from one book onto the next. These are three of my favorites.
Lovers at Heart Reimagined - I fell in love with the original ‘Lovers at Heart’ where we met the ever so charming, good looking and debonair, Treat Braden and fell in love with both he and Max Armstrong. I really enjoyed reading this updated and reimagined version by Melissa Foster. I enjoyed the backstory on their time in Nassau and I really liked how they talked about their problems and what was going on and worked through everything. I also liked meeting some new friends along the way and we also heard from some of our friends from other books. I especially loved the line “I know all those things you said about Treat. This is what I call Treat’s Justin-by-the-elevator moment.”
Destined for Love - Jade Johnson and Rex Braden have liked each other but they couldn’t do anything much less talk to each other because of a 40 year old family feud. I really felt for both Jade and Rex, they really wanted to be together but couldn’t be seen in public where they lived for fear of the news getting back to their families, especially their fathers. It was interesting to watch these two decide to take a chance to be together, even though it had to be in another town and then when they ran across The Dance of Two Lovers necklace that had belonged to Rex’s deceased mother, Adriana. . . fate? The Dance of Two Lovers necklace, “everything in their lives was meant to keep them apart, and against all odds, they found their way to each other.” I’m glad Rex and Jade took the chance to finally be together and with the help of Rex’s siblings, were able to finally put the 40 year old family feud to rest. I thought the way Rex and Treat handled the land at the end with Jade’s father was exactly as it should have been.
Friendship on Fire - I really enjoyed this story and having New York City as the back drop, even better. Watching Josh and Riley realize their true feelings toward each other but having to walk that fine line of going public or keeping their relationship private, was very interesting. I loved meeting Mia and all the other personalities at JBD and yes I’m glad that Claudia finally got what she deserved. As always, I loved the Braden family being there for each other and the ending was perfect for these two fashion designers.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2024I would recommend this book / author to family, friends, and anyone reading reviews looking for a good series of books to read. I think you are going to like these characters and want to continue reading to find out what happens next. :)
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2020All three romances were what I think of as "plug and play": impossibly beautiful heroine with weird, often masculine first name (Max, Jade, Riley), meets impossibly handsome, successful hero, often a billionaire. They fall in love and have passionate sex. Sometimes there's a minor impediment to the HEA that everyone knows is coming, but there's always a proposal and often an epilogue showing readers their future children.
"Friendship on Fire," the third novel in the set, was annoying. (SPOILERS AHEAD!) The two most brilliant fashion designers in the world have secretly loved each other for 20 years, but while he is rich and famous in NYC, she is working behind the counter at Macy's. All that changes after Josh sees Riley's portfolio and offers her a job.
At JBD, we meet the villain, known to all except herself as Cruella. Cruella is a talentless hack whom Josh hired and continues to employ as a favor to her uncle Peter, a powerful business associate -- even though she sexually harasses him virtually every time she sees him.
Peter falls for Riley at first sight, although this manifests primarily as nagging Riley for her portfolio, which she willingly parts with -- and apparently never wants back, because we don't hear about it again until the denouement. (I would *never* give anyone my portfolio, only photocopies!)
Immediately after Riley sends uncle Peter her portfolio, niece Cruella's design skills appear to improve dramatically, and during the course of the novel more than one character says as much -- although none of the characters adds two plus two. Neither of the two greatest fashion designers in the world notices that Cruella's "new" designs look almost exactly like the designs in Riley's portfolio. Neither great designer says, "Hey, Cruella's 'new' design with the cutout sleeves looks exactly like the dress Riley (or, I) designed and wore on our first date." No, the whole impediment in this novel lies in the fact that the two greatest fashion designers in the world can't tell when a talentless hack is plagiarizing one protagonist's designs.
I'm not a fashion designer, but I'm a writer. And I can tell when I'm being plagiarized, even when the plagiarist changes "enough" words and phrases to claim the resemblance is coincidental. I can't believe that the greatest fashion designer in the world has been looking at Cruella's designs for **five years** and still can't tell when she's plagiarizing. (And, worse, he spends several chapters worrying that Cruella's absurd claim that Riley was plagiarizing *her* might be true.)
Another minor annoyance: after I spent most of the novel assuming that uncle Peter had obtained Riley's portfolio on his niece's behalf, Peter turned out to be innocent. I don't know why, unless the author wanted Peter to be the hero of a future novel.
The annoyance caused by the protagonists' incompetence and willingness to believe ill of each other made it difficult for me to finish reading this book. Luckily, it was easy to skim, because the minute one of the frequent sex scenes started I could skip to the next chapter. And I could skim most of the "what if the manipulative sexual harasser wins?" angst.
But I would advise you, the reader of this review, to save yourself the annoyance: read the first few chapters of "Friendship on Fire" and then skip to the HEA.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2022The Braden’s of Weston, CO. (Books 1-3) by Melissa Foster is three times the romance in one very fine reading package. Each Braden Hero is unique but with similar qualities. These guys fall fast and get hit hard with love. Once realization hits, it game on and game over, there’s no need to look further and pursuit can have only one outcome and that’s forever.
The heroines are just as unique and have strengths in their own right to be the right one for each Braden. Their hearts just need a little coaxing. And much like their perfect Braden match, realization is electrifying and in some aspect terrifying!
Overall, there’s no need to worry. Each Braden pulls out all the stops for their forever loves and pave the path to their perfect and promising HEA.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2024I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
It is set in the fashion industry.
It is a love story that started as teenagers and ended in marriage as adults!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2022Sickly sweet. Everything is over the top. Nothing is normal or average. Too much introspection. Too much meaningless monkey sex. The men in these books are actually women in men's bodies. They're too good to be real. My blood sugar shot up & I was gagging at the sickly sweetness.

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable, but a bit too unrealistic and too emotional
The first three stories about the Braden family in one, covering brothers Treat, Rex, and Josh.
On the whole, the stories are not bad at all, and I enjoyed reading them for the most part. For my taste, however - and I know this is a very personal opinion - they were a bit too unrealistic: All three brothers are sort of rich, at least not lacking in money, and very successful in their chosen professions, all are "swoon-worthy" (coughs), and so thoughtful, considerate and just basically true gentlemen and nice. Oh and they are not afraid to show their feelings. And sorry, but if one man is described as having his arms bowed at his side because of his muscles, then my first thought is "gorilla", and not good-looking. Too much testosterone for me, perhaps, which sometimes made me raise my brows when they treated their ladies like little helpless damsels in distress and thought it was normal behaviour towards a female person.
The stories were occasionally tooth-achingly sweet, although I did like the plots as such. And the characters were all sweet as well, but quite likeable.
As I said before, all in all, I did enjoy reading them, and I specifically liked that the female protagonists did not have to be model-like in their appearance. But equal rights for all?
But yes, I will quite happily try and get the next volumes in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars These books are filled with passionate characters and believable stories.
The Bradens at Weston (Books 1-3 Boxed Set): Love in Bloom: The Bradens.
If you are a fan of contemporary romance then this box set is a great way to start your introduction to The Bradens. If you are already a fan of Melissa’s ‘writing family’, then you are likely to be familiar with some of these characters.
I have previously read two of the books in this set, but the first one is a re-imagined version, so it wasn’t a hardship to re-read, not that I find any of these stories hard to re-read. They suit by need for up-lifting and inspiring romance.
Story one is about Treat and Max. Treat is the eldest son of Hal Braden, he helped raise his younger siblings after their mother died. He’s now a top businessman, but he has guilty feelings about leaving his family behind and focussing on making his own life a success. Max has trust issues after an old boyfriend betrayed her, but Treat offers her the love and commitment that she has always wanted. Can they both let go of their past to make a future together?
The second story is about Rex and Jade. Rex stayed to run the family ranch with his father while his siblings all left home. Jade Johnson is now a vet; she has returned to Weston but coming home has its own problems. An old family feud between the Bradens and the Johnsons means that any romance between herself and Rex is forbidden, but it is hard to stay apart and they feel resentful about the feud. Can they find a happy solution?
The third story is mainly set in New York and is about Josh Braden and Riley Banks. Josh is a top fashion designer who gives Riley a job after seeing her portfolio. He whisks her away from Weston to New York where industry competition is high and Riley makes an enemy of one of Josh’s key team. While the friendship between Josh and Riley blossoms someone is working to undermine Riley in the worst possible way. Will she be able to remain working for Josh without people saying that she slept her way to the top?
These books are filled with passionate characters and believable stories. They are always my go to place when I need some comfort and warm cosy reading. I delight in recommending them to friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great box set!
I am loving the Love In Bloom Series and being able to binge read 3 of them was very satisfying! The Bradens are a beautiful, loving family and I have loved each (standalone) story so far. There is a great balance of romance, steam and heartwarming family feels in each one and I look forward to the next one
