For many growing up on social media, texting and Snapchat SNAP 2.03%increase; green up pointing triangle are synonymous.

Like most Americans her age, 22-year-old college senior Zoe Carlow owns an iPhone. But she said she only uses Apple’s AAPL -0.10%decrease; red down pointing triangle Messages app for urgent situations. If she’s planning hangouts or vacations, sharing photos and just catching up, she’s on Snapchat.
