Sweden's 250-year-old Freedom of the Press Act gets UNESCO status
Sweden's 1766 Freedom of the Press Act has been awarded UNESCO Memory of the World status.
Janis Kreslins, a senior academic librarian at Sweden's National Library, says the more than 250-year-old document represents a key part of Swedish national identity.
Sweden performed worse this year in the press freedom index published by Reporters Without Borders. Erik Larsson is president of the organisation's Swedish branch, and says journalists here are facing a number of challenges.
