Former ESPN fantasy analyst Matthew Berry has revealed that his venture Fantasy Life, a media company with a focus on Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) and sports betting, has raised $2 million in seed round funding.

In a statement released yesterday, Fantasy Life named its investors. The list includes John Legend, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler, and LRMR Ventures — the family office of Lebron James and entrepreneur Maverick Carter.

Fantasy Life began as a daily newsletter and grew to become a fully fledged media company publishing daily content through its website and offering fantasy manager tools. According to Sports-Statistics.com, since launching the company has agreed sponsorship deals with Cisco, Buffalo Wild Wings, BetMGM and Underdog Fantasy while also signing media deals with both SiriusXM and Meta.

Fantasy Life CEO Eliot Crist said in a statement:

“We are providing the world’s biggest brands access to some of the most loyal and highly engaged audiences. With sponsorships, brand integrations, and custom tools, Fantasy Life is focused on developing strategic, long-term partnerships through its content for all users. We are proud of the work we have accomplished and look forward to other A-List brands joining the Fantasy Life family.”

Speaking of the latest round of investment, Berry added:

“I have loved every second of the last year with the Fantasy Life team, bootstrapping our way to profitability and can’t wait to continue to build on that success.”
