Interactive Housing Data Dashboard is now live

One of the key deliverables of the Regional Housing Action Plan Project, is an interactive dashboard for regional housing data.

The new dashboard will allow housing stakeholders in the region, whether they are Councils, CHPs, funders, or developers to easily locate and understand key data and information relevant to housing. As the dashboard develops, it is intended that insight will be offered through periodic bulletins and that, together, these will be contribute to making evidence-informed decisions which lead to good housing outcomes.

The dashboard is the first of its kind for the region, with pan-regional housing data easily accessible in one place, previously sourcing this data was a far more arduous and time-consuming task. The dashboard offers visual insights and allows users to download raw data, and has been developed in collaboration with various council data teams, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and the Wellington Regional Leadership Committee.

Special thanks to the Greater Wellington Regional Council ICT team who have developed this tool inhouse.

The platform delivery will be iterative. The dashboard has started with a small set of data, and it will be added to it as it’s use is monitored, and as user suggestions and requests for other data is received. User input is encouraged to enhance the platform, although data availability and technical limitations may constrain improvements.

The dashboard covers the WRLC Region, the geographical area that includes Carterton District Council, Greater Wellington Regional Council, Horowhenua District Council, Hutt City Council, Kāpiti Coast District Council, Masterton District Council, Porirua City Council, South Wairarapa District Council, Upper Hutt City Council, Wellington City Council.
