Nelson, New Zealand - Make/Shift Spaces, in collaboration with Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZ Institute of Architects and the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce, proudly presents the release of the comprehensive report titled ‘What if Whakatū Nelson...? Report on public findings - A community-led engagement for city centre revitalisation’.

This landmark report encapsulates the collective vision and aspirations of the community towards the revitalisation of Whakatū Nelson's city centre and beyond.

Our Make/Shift Space at 263 Hardy Street has closed but we are still accepting your ideas.

We are now having a well earned rest & will be back with more ‘What if Whakatū Nelson…?’ in 2024


The Make/Shift Space “What if Whakatū Nelson…?” was open at 263 Hardy Street between 13 November and 17 December.

It was a space where the public could engage with ideas for how to create a vibrant, liveable city.

As the weeks progressed the space evolved with posters, displays, ideas and interactive exhibits.

It hosted 62 presenters, 29 talks and generated almost 300 ideas to help revitalise the central city and beyond.
