The Left today is not just pro-Palestinian. It is pro-Hamas.
“Labour councillor subjected to vicious local backlash after sharing anti-Hamas article,” by Lee Harpin, Jewish News, November 23, 2023 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A Labour councillor has been subjected to a vicious local backlash after posting an article online that argued,“Hamas is no good for Palestinians and no good for Jews.”
Waltham Forest councillor Kira Lewis has resigned from their [sic] role as a Labour whip after a petition, which has received hundreds of signatures, demanded suspension from the party while an investigation into “inflammatory, ignorant and inhumane comments” took place.
In a statement to the local Waltham Forest Echo newspaper council leader Grace Williams appeared to back the call for action to be taken against Lewis saying she recognised “the distress caused by the X/Twitter post”.
Williams confirmed that the post and the complaints about it have been referred to the Council’s Monitoring Officer.
Jewish News understands that the local Waltham Forest Council of Mosques has also been accused of inflaming tensions locally after publishing a list of every councillor in the borough online also with a question on whether they have called for a ceasefire in Gaza….

It’s becoming more and more obvious that the world is going the way of evil.
Wellington says
I agree, somehistory.
Now, I think this agreement by me with you is due first and foremost to massive ignorance by others far more than a dearth of sound religious directives, but I take your point and support it. In fact, though an agnostic, as you know I am, I am four out of five times ready to admit that sound religious directives (N.B., Islam does not qualify here) and proper knowledge go hand-in-hand.
You see, and even assuming an enlightened religion like Christianity is not ultimately aligned with cosmic reality (though it could be and I admit this), it is still important to assume it is. As Voltaire, himself a skeptic like yours truly, observed, if God doesn’t exist, we’ll have to invent Him. Besides, I could be wrong and you right and God really does exist. It would then be somehistory 1, Wellington 0.
Ah, life is an eternal mystery and puzzlement, no? Take care and hope you are feeling better by the day.

Wellington, if we agree on the definition of “evil,” and I believe we do, then even not knowing each other’s belief system, or not, we can agree that the world is going in that direction.
I do, in fact, base a lot of what I believe is evil on the morality I was taught as a child. My parents didn’t go about quoting the Bible; I never even saw them reading it. The closest either one ever came, was my father telling us that when an older person came into the house, if we were sitting down, all of us kids had to stand up and offer our seats. “In front of an older man, rise up.”
And my mom telling us that if the devil ever came to our house, we kids would tear him to pieces
In the youngest of my days, we did attend church, but never discussed what we were hearing in Sunday school, etc. Later on, the only time we attended was Vacation Bible School.
If I am right about God, and you know I believe that I am without any doubt, then I think we both win. You are a friend of Christianity and God looks with favor on that..
And yes, Life is a mystery.
Thank you for the well-wishes. I am improving.

Thank you for this off-topic discussion.
It really made my day.

I am sure that Voltaire a clever man was speaking tongue in cheek when he said that. We certainly would not need to invent ‘god’. Gods were invented in the time of mankind’s ignorance. There were multiple gods. Mohammad invented his ‘god’ although he claimed it was the same as the Judaic god, in order to get credibility, hoping the Jews would accept him as a real prophet, which of course they did not, They recognised him as an egotistic charlatan and the followers of Moh. have hated Jews ever since. As Apostate Prophet has pointed out, if Moham had only a few thouand followers today we would describe him as cult leader
Billy Onyemesili says
Certainly yes, the world is going the way of evil.
Robert Callow says
Yes, and Islam looks certain to play a major role in the final conflict that will come after the revealing of the final antichrist. Such will herald the start of “The Great Tribulation”, the climax of evil, a violence unparalleled in all of history.

She’s a weakling for resigning
James Lincoln says
What Waltham Forest councillor Kira Lewis is objectively true.
To be pressured to resign due to her posting tells me that the UK is squarely under the heel of islam.
Leonard Gearhardt says
Exactly.
James Lincoln says
Thank you for your reply, Leonard.
But I would rather have been wrong…

The Labour Party is now under constant pressure from it’s in-party muslims & the wider islamic voting block in general.
They even had the fearful feeble leader Starmer grovelling at a mosque & then attacked him for not grovelling enough. Because he dared to support Isreal against jihadist murderers. How telling.
Islam has infested & now controls the Labour party more than ever before & are thus extremely dangerous; especially now that their strange but effective love affair with left wing radicals has gained real traction.
If the Labour party get into power at the next elections, then blasphemy laws are a real distinct possibility.
We would witness the islamo-marxist destruction of the UK as we know it & untold misery for it’s citizens, such as only islamic aligned politics can bring.
Meanwhile Hamas loving Corbyn with his loyal acolytes & terrorist friends sit waiting to pounce.
They are the true power base in the UK laft wing today it seems.
Billy Onyemesili says
You are certainly correct, the UK and indeed the entire Europe is gradually drowning under the spell of radical islam.
Sean says
At this point, one could make some fairly benign negative comment regarding Hamas, and expect to suffer a similar hair-trigger overreaction.
“Hamas leaves dirty dishes in the sink untouched.”
KILL THE INFIDEL RACIST XENOPHOBE!!!!!!
MD Anthony says
Councilor Lewis caused stress to Muslims by what she said ??
The only stress a Muslim feels is in choosing which weapon will be used to kill non-Muslims
Lisel Sipes says
Anyone who could put a baby in an oven does not feel stress or any other human emotion. Every single one of these slime balls needs to be baked at 375 degrees. Until then, we are nothing but a bunch of cowards.
Eugene Leady says
You are right in saying those who could kill without any compassion don’t feel stress.
They may feel anger and are incited to kill by the evil people who have taught them from youth that God is pleased with the killing of innocent non Muslims.
What merciless and hateful societies and culture has been produced by Islam!
Billy Onyemesili says
You can shout that from the rooftops.
Norman Gardner Gardner says
Right on.
Madeleine says
She wrote that Hamas is evil, not Israel, although Israel’s actions are “bad’. Shame on her!
Billy Corr says
This woman’s glaring error was to have republished a short text from an immediately-suspect source, not merely a Jewish source [British, Canadian or American] but an Israeli source, no matter how thoughtful and well-written the text actually was..
It ought to be added that “Jerusalem Post* and *Times of Israeli* and – of course *Haaretz* are what most readers of this site would consider Left-of-Center and broadly sympathetic to Palestinian issues, but to an angry Muslim such a consideration is immaterial; to such a person, anything Israeli is anathema.
Thirty minutes of minimal effort on this councilor’s part would have made the text her own work, rather than a resend.
Most readers here probably don’t know that Muslims now outnumber Jews in Britain by a factor of fourteen to one, the consequence of a steady inflow of immigrants plus a far higher birthrate than the British average.
On the other hand, there are fewer British Jews every year.
In 1945, there were an estimated 400,000 British Jews; now there are fewer than 300,000 [one realistic guesstimate is 270,000). This quite drastic drop in numbers is not the result of persecution or mass emigration but simply because British Jews – like Japanese-Americans – are keen on partnering and marrying outside the tribe (practicing exogamy) and even most of those who partner and marry inside the tribe (practicing endogamy) are failing to reproduce at an adequate replacement rate.
The only British Jews with a more-than-replacement birthrate are the sullen and clannish Orthodox Jews (the ones with the beards and the funny hats,) As in Israel, they make no worthwhile contribution to the host society but – unlike their equivalents in Israel – they do not live on the public dole.
