A beautiful sentiment. And I do wish as well that both Harvard and Yale were what they were of old. But alas, this is no longer the case and indicative of how wickedness and lies can corrupt anything that is not constantly vigilant against such corruption.
Harvard, founded in 1636, and Yale, founded in 1701, have let down their guard against a plethora of falsehoods. And it shows. Oh yeah, it most definitely shows.
The descent of the West continues. And for what? For Islam, for Leftism, for sucking up to a totalitarian regime like China? What a total waste. No greater waste in mankind’s sorry history I posit.

Believe it or not colleges founded in the 1600’s and 1700’s were started by churches. One of the requirements of attending was the student had to attend Sunday services of the church that sponsored that college.
Know these institutions are all secular. Something has gotten lost.

Most do not know that fact….many would flat-out deny it, as they have denied much about this nation’s beginnings and the connections to God, Jesus and the Bible.
The denials helped to get the country in the diabolical mess it’s in today.

Again, somehistory, from the agnostic that I am, I find myself in complete agreement with you once more.
America without Christianity will be an America no more. Of this I am certain.

As I have written many times, Wellington, you are better at defending Christianity and Christ than many who profess to believe.
As the Bible makes clear, it’s what is in the heart that matters.

Absolutely, Barbara. Separate America from its origins in the Judeo-Christian tradition and one engages in a great falsehood.
Harvard and Yale and their founding are intricately tied up with their roots in the Judeo-Christian tradition and the fact that an agnostic like me has to bring this up is demonstrative of just how far America has fallen. I should not be in the forefront of defending Judeo-Christian values, which I admire very much, but the fact that I am is evidence of just how much trouble America is now in—like at Harvard and Yale.

I know some atheists who do not believe in a ‘higher being’. But they do believe the ten commandments are necessary for an orderly life. This sets a standard by which society can safely and predictable live.

Hey, there are probably enough of the idiots that more than 100 could be offered in exchange, esp of the student bodies and staff of other schools were included.

This plan should actually work. Hamas doesn’t care what anyone’s ideology is: all that matters to them is that they have American hostages. So they’ll see this as a stupid deal where they get even more hostages than what they have now, & do the exchange. We can turn in those hundreds of student & faculty members to al Shifa hospital, & get all those surviving hostages, including the infants, released
We can then tell Hamas that we don’t negotiate w/ terrorists, after having negotiated, pissing them off and letting them turn their wrath on their new, more erudite hostages. It’ll be an education for both Hamas and these Ivy League brats on a different plane altogether

Call me a radical but we shouldn’t allow Islam to attend our universities and SHOULD STOP allowing the universities to take foreign money. In addition, stop all Islamic emigration to the U.S. and expel the radicals already here! We only have a couple of choices.
One more thing. This is what happened to me. It was either just before 911 or just after. I used to work at a cemetery and funeral home. All the cemeteries, at the behest of Muslims, created their own Muslim areas. As a cemetery planner, my job was to do the paperwork for the burial and coordinate it. Part of the planning included was to be present at the gravesite at the time of the burial.
One day I had seven or eight men crowded into my small office. They picked up my business card and looked at my last name, and started questioning my origins and then started to belligerently attack me verbally. I was sure they might physically attack me too. Luckily they didn’t. The mosque associated with this Muslim cemetery land purchase- in our cemetery, is a known as a dangerous and radical one. The mosque would buy ample plots and burial “packages” at hugely discounted prices in the same area that others had to pay much more. Then they would sell them at increased rates to their deceased mosque members or other Muslims. We had to stop them from doing this, and require the deceased family to make the purchase because the purchaser has the rights and control of the grave (which might also be important in the future too). In addition, I believe that Mohammed Atta was present that day, but I can’t prove it. Also, does anyone know that in Islam, no woman is allowed at the gravesite, even when it’s a woman being buried? Imagine the deceased daughter or mother’s grief. Also, no woman that represents the cemetery is permitted there either. It was the cemetery’s rules that required the planner to be out there during the burial – but Muslims don’t allow it. They also made additional demands, like having the cemetery plant bushes and hedges to block off their graves- to separate them from the other deceased. Even in death, they did not want to be near an infidel. That was twenty plus years ago. I can’t imagine what other demands they make today.
