President Trump Releases Statement Regarding New York Judge

President Trump has released several statements regarding New York Judge Arthur Engoron.

Following an overturning of Engoron’s unconstitutional gag order and a temporary lifting of that order, the 45th President took to social media to lambast the clearly partisan judge.

Trump told his followers on Truth Social: “Judge Arthur Engoron has just been overturned (stayed!) by the New York State Appellate Division (Appeals Court), for the 4th TIME (on the same case!).

His Ridiculous and Unconstitutional Gag Order, not allowing me to defend myself against him and his politically biased and out-of-control, Trump-Hating Clerk, who is sinking him and his Court to new levels of LOW, is a disgrace.

They are defending the Worst and Least Respected Attorney General in the United States, Letitia James, who is a Worldwide disgrace, as is her illegal Witch Hunt against me.

The Radical and Unprecedented actions of Judge Engoron will keep BUSINESSES and JOBS forever out of New York State.

I have done NOTHING WRONG, my numbers were low, not high, I have a COMPLETE DISCLAIMER CLAUSE, their Star Witness admitted he lied and made up this Fake case against me, and the Attorney General used a “Get Trump” platform in order to run for A.G. & Governor (she failed!). This wicked attack on Democracy must be ended, NOW!”

The Associated Press reports:

Judge David Friedman of the state’s intermediate appeals court issued what’s known as a stay — suspending the gag order and allowing the former president to speak freely about court staff while a longer appeals process plays out

White House Correspondent Simon Ateba explained the decision in more detail:

“In case you missed this earlier today, appellate judge David Friedman temporarily lifted a gag order prohibiting Donald Trump from discussing court personnel during his civil fraud trial in New York, citing free speech concerns.

NOTE: The trial judge, Arthur Engoron, imposed the gag order on October 3 after Trump commented about the judge’s law clerk on social media, resulting in fines and restrictions on Trump’s lawyers.

NOTE: By lifting the gag order, Trump can freely comment while the appeals process unfolds in New York.

MY TAKE: I believe that I am among the few who can talk about the importance of the First Amendment, not just for Trump or pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli protesters, but for every American.

In the past month, many people have failed to understand that it’s not about one group or person; it’s about what makes the United States the greatest country in the world. It’s Trump today. It might be you tomorrow.”

According to CNBC:

Engoron had barred Trump from making public statements about his court staff on the second day of the trial, after Trump repeatedly targeted the judge’s principal law clerk.

A month later, on Nov. 3, Engoron extended that gag order to Trump’s attorneys, accusing them of making “repeated, inappropriate remarks” about the same law clerk.

The judge noted that his chambers have been “inundated” with threats and harassment since the trial began.
