According to the Canadian Press:
A group of foreign ministers from the Palestinian Authority, Saudi Arabia and Turkey met Saturday in Ottawa with Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to discuss the Israel-Hamas war.
The quietly planned meeting focused on ways countries could help efforts to secure peace for Palestinians and Israelis, after Hamas militants launched a deadly rampage in Israel on Oct. 7.
The stated reason for their mission to Canada:
The group is not a joint peace project with Israel, and says its leaders aim to speak on behalf of Arab and Muslim people following Israel’s bombardment of Gaza in response to the Hamas attack.
The group is solidifying support for the Palestinian cause in a country that has already been rocked by a “terrifying” rise in antisemitism. Yet given the reputation of Canada under Trudeau, these Middle Eastern leaders came to the right place in their global search for Palestinian sympathizers.
Canada not only broke ranks with tradition to support Palestinian interests at the UN in 2019; it installed an “Islamophobia Czar” — Amira Elghawaby — who has served as communications director for an offshoot of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM). CAIR was designated an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, which involved funding of Hamas. Canada’s “Islamophobia Czar,” Elghawaby, is also serving as a director on the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, the same foundation from which I was fired by the Trudeau government after an investigation and a warning letter from then-Heritage Minister Melanie Joly, over allegations that I was “Islamophobic.“ “The National Council of Canadian Muslims also expressed concerns and sent a formal letter to the government in October. Executive director Ihsaan Gardee said Douglass-Williams’ removal is an ‘appropriate corrective measure taken by government to address (her) disturbing public record.’”
Given the Trudeau government’s careful selection of its NCCM-linked “Islamophobia Czar,” what the NCCM has been promoting about Israel is disturbing. The NCCM is a leading organization which disseminates and amplifies Muslim victimhood propaganda, and not only in Canada. It has aggressively taken up the Palestinian cause, presenting Palestinians as a group of entirely innocent people who are being abused by Israelis; it has campaigned for Canadian support to bash Israel’s alleged “expulsion of Palestinians from their homes and the attack on Palestinians worshipping in Al-Aqsa.” The organization has also sent out an inflammatory plea for Canadians to “send a letter to all federal leaders on how insufficient Canadas [sic] response has been on the crisis in Palestine.” In that plea, it accuses Israel of:
Attacks on journalists; the bombing of humanitarian facilities, the killing of physicians, including those leading the fight against COVID in Palestine, the blockage again of humanitarian aid into Palestine; and the refusal to accept a ceasefire.
Although the page can no longer be found for this “letter for Palestine,” its introduction can be seen in this screenshot:
The NCCM has also lobbied Canadians to support its Al Aqsa Fund; the organization states:
Israeli police forces launched an attack on Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa, one of the holiest sites for Muslims. Unfortunately, the reality is that this was not the first breach of human rights of the Palestinian people, and it will likely not be the last…
…unless we collectively do something about it as Canadians.
Omitted from such inflammatory statements is any truthful background information about the inalienable rights of Jews to visit the Temple Mount, and the violence that erupts when they do.
In its latest, the NCCM calls on Canada to condemn “horrifying statements from Israeli leaders” — accusing Israeli leaders of “calling for the most egregious forms of violence to be visited against the people of Gaza.”
During the Middle East leaders’ visit to Canada that was hosted by Melanie Joly and Justin Trudeau, did Joly and Trudeau not know about the Palestinian Authority and Turkey’s stand on the war on Gaza? Merely ten days after Hamas’ barbaric attack on Israeli citizens, which Hamas calls Operation Al Aqsa Flood, the Palestinian Authority announced that it would “give Hamas terrorists’ families close to $3m in ‘pay-for-slay.’” “In the current pay-for-slay system, called the “Martyrs’ Fund” by the PA, terrorists receive monetary payments as a reward for acts of terror.” As for Turkey (a foremost global peddler of the “Islamophobia” subterfuge), its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the “butcher of Gaza,” and demanded that he be tried as a “war criminal.” Erdogan also declared that Israel is a “terrorist state” and Hamas is a “political party.” Speaking at a pro-Hamas “Great Palestine Rally,” Erdogan threatened Israel: “We can come at any night unexpectedly”; the massive crowd chanted “Turkish military to Gaza.” Erdogan has also called Hamas “a group of mujahideen fighting to protect their lands.” Well, Hamas did descend on Israeli citizens “unexpectedly,” and now Erdogan threatens Israel anew.
The National Post states this in an article entitled “Mélanie Joly embarrasses herself“:
Her constantly shifting positions on Israel’s war with Hamas terrorists in Gaza are either evidence of her going rogue, being completely unaware of what the government’s policy is or that she really does think that the “ceasefire-now, Hamas are freedom fighters” faction of the left is the Liberals’ most important constituency.
There is no moral equivalence in Israel’s just war on Hamas, and there is no genuine possibility for peaceful coexistence with the Palestinians. Many of the Palestinians overtly seek a one-state solution, that is, the total destruction of Israel. The Palestinian Authority has in fact for quite some time declared itself the “State of Palestine, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation recognizes it as such. It is beyond the pale that Trudeau and Joly welcomed these Middle East leaders after the worse attack on Israel since the Holocaust. The mission of the visit, “to speak on behalf of Arab and Muslim people,” is yet another stain on the Trudeau government, just when Canadians thought a standing ovation in parliament to a full blown Nazi from Ukraine was quite enough.

Christine Douglas-Williams being fired was Canada’s loss but a truly major win for Jihad Watch. I can remember when Americans thought of Canada, “Sergeant Preston of the Yukon” would come to mind. I know that when I was growing up in the 1950’s, Canada seemed like a wonderland but now those concepts have disappeared. I would not be surprised if people fleeing to Canada from the US as during the Vietnam war, Canadians will soon flee to the US to avoid the Islamic hordes that are hell bent on destroying everything good.
I also wonder how long the Calgary Stampede will continue. My first trip to Canada in the late Fifties was to watch the rodeo and it was just wonderful. What more could an eleven year old kid wish?

Yes, very likely so.
That is, of course, assuming that the United States turns its own downward spiral around in 2024.

Most Canadians won’\t fee to the States for a few reasons
1)Health care and other social support why many Americans might not like them most Canadian support them
2)Most Canadians don’t support the right to carry
3)Violent crime is very low in Canada compared to the states.
4)Alberta the most right leaning province only 10% support joining the states.

Good points, jaime.
Being an American, I don’t fully understand the Canadian mindset.
Thanks for the reply.

Hmmmm where in Canada do you live?
Healthcare are you kidding me — Check the numbers of Canadians who have died waiting for operations. Go and visit a critical care department, lineups are out the door. Some hospitals have 18 hour waits — emergency room closed for lack of Doctors and nurses. Recently I had an old woman say she waited in the hospital emergency for 18 hours, finally she took her husband home and he died. There is no shortage of either doctors or nurses in Canada, BUT the Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons throughout Canada have taken away doctor’s licenses for speaking out about vaccines, fired doctors and nurses and not allowed some doctors hospital privileges for not getting jabbed.
Most Canadians don’t support the right to carry ??? Where do you get your information??? CBC, CTV, Global News, the Globe and Mail, the Trannna Red Star?
Really Violent Crime is low compared to the States. You mean compared to what? 30 some odd million Canadians compared to 330 some odd Americans.
My son moved his family to the US approximately 18 years ago — he saw the writing on the wall.
Geeez Jaime have you looked at the numbers of Canadians moving to Alberta?
