The Canadian Human Rights Commission needn’t worry. The way Canada is going, fairly soon there will be no days off except for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and that will be much more diverse than the present arrangement.
“Christmas Holiday ‘Colonialist’ and ‘Discriminatory,’ Says Canadian Commission,” by Chris Tomlinson, European Conservative, December 3, 2023:
Having a day off work for Christmas and Easter is evidence of Canada’s ‘colonialist’ history, a publicly funded human rights body has claimed.
The Canadian Human Rights Commission, which is funded by the federal government, said that the public celebration of major Christian festivals is rooted in religious intolerance.
“Discrimination against religious minorities in Canada is grounded in Canada’s history of colonialism,” the group said. “An obvious example is statutory holidays in Canada.”
In a report entitled “Discussion Paper on Religious Intolerance,” the group said that Christmas and Easter are the only statutory holidays linked to religion. “As a result, non-Christians may need to request special accommodations to observe their holy days and other times of the year where their religion requires them to abstain from work.”
“Canada’s history with religious intolerance is deeply rooted in our identity as a settler colonial state,” the report adds.
Canada remains a predominantly Christian country according to the 2021 national census, which states that Christians make up over 50% of the country’s population. This may be down from 77% in 2001, but the second largest religion, Islam, still accounts for less than 5%.
According to the National Post newspaper, the Canadian Human Rights Commission, which was formed to enforce the Human Rights Act in 1977, receives $32 million a year in government funding from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Despite the apparent animosity toward Christmas by the Human Rights Commission, polling has shown that Canadians of all religions have no problem with Christmas being a statutory holiday, with a poll released last year showing just 6% wanted to scrap religious-based holidays.
Controversies surrounding Christmas are heavily linked to Canada’s programme of mass immigration. In 2011, a principal of a school in Embrun, Ontario, cancelled the school’s Christmas concert because there were nine students not participating….

Funny that Christianity itself is African and Middle Eastern culture that was imposed upon Europeans via colonialist imperialism.

Not to worry… because one can apparently identify as whomever or whatever they’d like -in spite of reality- switching ethnicities and/or identities to take advantage of a myriad of different off-days should present no issue of consequence, for either the unscrupulous OR the merely stupid.

Canadians do not have the same freedoms and human rights protections as Americans but that is a problem that can be fixed, and done so in a manner that 100% legal.
.
The idea is very simple. We would ELECT 2 people in each federal riding to act as guardians of our Rights and Freedoms. Human Right organizations created by the government are as useless as Tits on a Bull.
.Elected officials would have enormous power. They would not replace our members of parliament, but they would oversee their activities. Such an organization would be very effective if elected members spent on average 10 hours per week on its endeavours.
.
What I’ve described above would not contravene any existing Canadians laws.

Christians could do a few things. Purposely NOT celebrate the Christmas Season and remove all decorations, music, pageants, parades, shopping specials, holiday parties, make employees work on Christmas, and just go to Church on Christmas but at the same time encircle Parliament and the Human Rights Commission buildings with bad singers trying to wail the call to prayer on loudspeakers 24/7 starting on Dec 1 and growing chin-slinky beards sans mustaches; see how pissed off and board Canadians would get.

The USA needs to start building a Northern border wall also. What the hell is wrong with these people that want to do away with all tradition and history? I guess we will all just shuffle along to work EVERY day for the elite leaders who will celebrate daily their position in life with grander.

Why don’t these governments just make some other national holidays for some of these other religions and allow people to choose which ones they want to celebrate on. Christians have been sharing their holidays with everyone else for a couple centuries in America. I don’t see any atheists refusing to take the days off out of their contempt for religion.

When you destroy the roots and celebrations that mark your culture you destroy that culture. The judeo-Christian countries are the best, freest, most equitable etc but there are those that want it destroyed. Christian or not, everyone can enjoy and participate. The human rights commission ignores the human rights of Christians and simply want destruction but cloaks that by using abusive terms and pretending to abolish colonialism and discrimination! Shame!!!
