Minnesota Golf Course Timely Challenged $2.6 Million Tax Bill

The former operators of a golf course may proceed with their challenge to more than $2.6 million in deferred taxes assessed after they sold the property to developers, the Minnesota Tax Court ruled.

Hollydale Land LLC’s challenge was timely because Hennepin County’s reclassification of the property after the sale prompted a different deadline for suing than applies to typical property tax assessment appeals, Judge Jane N. Bowman ruled Friday, denying the county’s motion to dismiss the suit.
