Antisemitism is a diversity problem.
Another poll that buries the lede.
Most Americans believe there has been an increase in hate crimes in the U.S., and many think that antisemitism is a serious problem. Few American adults agree with extreme statements such as “the Holocaust is a myth,” but those who do are most likely to be under the age of 30.
It takes a while until the YouGov/Economist poll actually asks respondents if they agree with certain ideas such as, “The Holocaust is a myth”. (The poll lists this as a question about Israel for some reason.)
The vast majority of people don’t agree with it, but those who do are more likely to be liberals than conservatives (3% vs 2%), much more likely to be urban than suburban (5% vs 1%)and more likely to voted Biden (2%) than Trump (%1).
These are fairly small numbers overall, but they do rise significantly among the 18-29 set where they hit 20%.
We’ve seen similar results with support for the Hamas attacks of Oct 7.
So what’s going on here? This is not just a “what happened to the youth” thing.
Let’s drill down a bit. What do Biden voters and younger people have in common?
Among white people, only 5% agree with the idea, but 13% of black people and 12% of Hispanic people do.
Let’s look at the inverse.
82% of white people strongly disagree, but only 55% of black people disagree.
The numbers spike among the 18-29 set because it’s also the most diverse generation. The interesting part would potentially come from drilling down to break down the 18-29 numbers by race and gender. What I think we’ll find is that much of it is coming from the more “diverse” young men.
When asked whether Jews have too much power in America, the numbers jump from 13% among white people to 27% among black people. 57% of white people disagree, but only 27% of black people disagree.
We can’t talk about what’s really going on here and so we don’t.

The ‘professors’ in many colleges/universities today, insist on the students agreeing with whatever the prof says. This can be a problem in the schools from k-12
If the professors are like those whom we have read/heard in recent weeks, then the students are going to hear lies and be required to agree with them.
And group think can be a huge problem for getting to the Truth.

Because they’re uneducated and ignorant and resistant to facts.

Even among anti-Semites on the Right, they don’t deny the holocaust. They just take an ambivalent attitudes towards Jews/Israel for any combination of the following stated reasons:
➤ Israel is not America, so American Jews have no business being more interested in the well-being of Israel than of America
➤ American Jews – a majority of them at least – were happy to support the Left in their White-hatred during the BLM riots of 2020, & had no issues w/ colleges when when Whites were singled out for targeting. However, they suddenly discovered religion once the same mobs started screaming “River to the Sea”, & are now willing to cease underwriting these colleges
➤ Many, if not most, of the villains in our body politic today – be it Adam Schiff, Dan Goldman, Weingarten, ADL members & a whole host of other societal villains – are Jews. The Paleo-Conservatives then extrapolate that to cover the entire Jewish community, since that community is just 3% of the population
I disagree w/ them, but I do see why they are unsympathetic to Jews. When a majority of Jews (& so far, this applies to Hindus as well) lean left, there are those on the Right who are unsympathetic to them

Infidel, your idea that most political villains in the US today are Jewish is much mistaken. Joe Biden is not Jewish, Kamala Harris is not Jewish. I can cite a long list of high-profile gentile Leftists

I didn’t say that: I said that the stated reason by people on the Right unsympathetic to Israel are the 3 reasons above. But a much higher percentage of Jews are Leftist compared to the general population

“I said that the stated reason by people on the Right unsympathetic to Israel are the 3 reasons above.”
Stated by people on the right? Maybe so.

No surprise there–despite Trump being falsely tarred as antisemitic when it is convenient.
