KATHMANDU, JANUARY 17

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has directed the authorities to take immediate measures to address the inconveniences faced by Nepalis going abroad on visit visas and work permits at the airport.

He mentioned that complaints regarding these issues have been received.

The PM issued these instructions during discussions today with Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sarat Singh Bhandari, Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, and the secretaries of the related ministries.

Acknowledging the complaints about individuals with visit visas and labor permits facing difficulties at the airport, the PM instructed for the immediate creation of a conducive environment, as per the statement from the PM's Private Secretariat.

"I have heard complaints that individuals traveling abroad on visit visas are being turned back from the airport, citing a lack of proper documents. However, they are allowed to travel after some days through a 'setting' (meaning in collusion). Please ensure compliance with the Immigration Work Procedures for those going abroad on visit visas. Stop causing distress to the people," he emphasized.

The Prime Minister also directed the relevant authorities to conduct awareness programs on foreign employment and visit visas at the local levels, working in favor of the nation and its people.
