I have a feeling Disney requires their licensed games to be announced asap. Star Wars Eclipse, Wolverine, KOTOR Remake, Indiana Jones, and Blade. All Disney properties that were announced years before they were actually releasing.
Gotta build hype for a dying brand.
Hmm maybe. It seems to be a norm in the movie industry that a movie is announced as soon as it advances from random daydreaming to rough idea.
they should have announced this game 2 years ago, not sure why they waited so long, lol
announcements that happen years ahead of time pisses me off
Announced way too earlier. Wolverine too for that matter.
Trailer is probably the only work they've done towards the game. lol
Maybe 2026 but man if we have to wait that long everyone be dead haha
Knowing that they're doing a Dishonored 3 first yeah I'd believe if they only barely started production
Odd, wasn't it leaked that Xbox was closing down in 2027..
The whole thing has a "We can do super heroes too!" vibe to it.
You could make this same dumb argument for Spiderman as well. Sony saw the success of Arkham and wanted a piece of the pie. In fact, that likely why Sony made those games. Nothing wrong with it either. Now that Xbox wants some of the action, we get this kind of take
It was a dumb take, I agree.
Sure, LurkerJ's comment may have been a bad take, but you can't say the same about Sony with Spider-Man. Marvel approached Microsoft first and they turned it down.
I never said they did or they didn't.
You said Sony wanted a piece of the pie and it's likely why they made those games. However, it's important to note Marvel approached them, taking that notion off the table.
I said, they wanted a piece of the pie because they saw the success of Arkham series. Marvel approaching them with the proposal doesn't change this.
Yes, MS wants some of the action or at least is okay with Bethesda wanting some of the action since it's only Bethesda studios making these games.
Meet me halfway here. You responded to someone who accused Microsoft of "me tooing" with a response that Sony did the same with Spider-Man and I'm saying it did not go down like that. Maybe Sony wanted a piece of a pie (though I doubt it as it wasn't like superhero games were all the rage at that point in the PS4's life, despite the Arkham games. Could have very well been Marvel who wanted a piece of that pie, which may now be extending to Blade.
Regardless, we can be sure they wanted a publisher to have a crack at Spider-Man, was initially turned down by Microsoft, and approached Sony who accepted.
Hopefully, that makes sense.
Arkane has never EVER made good action in any of their games. So that means I’m not excited for this till prove they can make good action in their games.
Also their AI is really bad, which you can’t get away with in action games like you can for stealth. games.
Dishonored combat was fantastic on a bad ending playthrough.
I personally didn't like it at all. So I hope they do something completely different. The stealth I thought was great though.
