Justin Bieber was all over the NHL All-Star Game in Toronto this weekend. In addition to his fashion brand Drew House designing the league's stylish pop-art All-Star jerseys, he also served as the official celebrity captain of Team Matthews—captained by his Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews, a longtime Bieber pal—who scored a decisive 7-4 victory over the competing Team McDavid at Scotiabank Arena.

“I’ve been dreaming of this moment since I was a little boy growing up in Stratford,” the Ontario legend told Sportsnet after the game. The enthusiasm was palpable. Bieber hit the ice decked out in head-to-toe Team Matthews regalia, skated around for photo ops with every former and current NHL player imaginable, and to top it all off, sat perched on the bench cheering on his team in one of the best fits we’ve ever seen in a pro hockey arena.

The cozy gray sweater, loose-fitting jeans, and Balenciaga cap are all pretty much par for the course as far as the Biebs is concerned: We’ve seen him combine haute couture with casual comfort staples many, many times before, and he’s mastered this breezy, unconventional aesthetic better than just about anyone.

The real statement piece, however, was his outstanding oversized Marni jacket, a red-and-pink polka-dot stunner that doubled as an effortless masterclass in proportions. Taking the big coat trend to another level, it guaranteed that he could be seen on the sidelines even from the nosebleeds, and who knows, maybe introduced a generation of flannel-wearing Canadian hockey dads from the sticks to a whole new way of dressing.

Even Boston Bruins coach Jim Montgomery was converted. “I love the coat,” he said afterward. “I wanted to wear it. I have no look, so I might as well be loud with my clothing.”
