The RBSLM symposium showcased new EFLM approaches to urinalysis and urine bacterial culture, led by Timo Kouri and Etienne Cavalier. The event highlighted advancements in preanalytical processes and verification procedures for urine test strips and particle counting, as outlined in the EFLM Urinalysis Guidelines 2023. Discussions also delved into the automation of urine bacteriology and whether the current technical advances meet clinical needs.
