Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) lectures Israel: “Schumer: Netanyahu a major obstacle for peace, Israel must hold elections,” by Hannah Sarisohn, Jerusalem Post, March 14, 2024:
“For example, too many Israelis who say they want a two-state solution don’t acknowledge how the amount and extent of expanding settlements render that a virtual impossibility. And too many Palestinians who say they want a two-state solution don’t acknowledge how their insistence on an unequivocal right of return is a fatal impediment,” Schumer said.
Hamas can not have any role in the future of Gaza if peace is to be achieved, Schumer said. Any proposal that leaves Hamas with meaningful power is unacceptable, he said. Schumer also said the Palestinian people must reject Hamas and their extremism.
But the “Palestinian” people are not about to reject Hamas. Not even, Senator Schumer, if you tell them to. In fact, Hamas has become more popular not despite, but because of what its operatives did on October 7. 85% of Palestinians In Gaza and the West Bank now support Hamas.
“Once a monster is deprived of power, the Palestinians will be much freer to choose a government they want and deserve. With the prospect of a real two-state solution on the table and for the first time genuine statehood for the Palestinian people, I believe they will be far more likely to support more mainstream leaders committed to peace,” Schumer said.
Why does Schumer think the Palestinians will, if given a state, support “more mainstream leaders committed to peace”? Surely he doesn’t think the so-called “moderates” of the Palestinian Authority are “committed to peace.” Can he name any Palestinian leader, of any faction, who is “committed to peace” with the Jewish state? From Hamas to the PA, they all support that state’s ultimate disappearance, and its replacement by a twenty-third Arab state.
“I think the same is true for the Israeli people. Call me an optimist, but I believe that if the Israeli public is presented with a path to a two-state solution that offers a chance at lasting peace and coexistence, then most mainstream Israelis will moderate their views and support it.”…
Schumer appears not to realize that the Israelis have steadily lost faith in that will-o’-the-wisp, a “two-state solution.” In 2017, 44% of Israelis supported such an outcome; by September 2023, that number was 38%, and by October 2023, after the Hamas attack, that figure had dropped to 26%, and it continues to fall. In other words, by now almost three-quarters of Jewish Israelis oppose the creation of a “Palestinian state,” and there is every reason to think that those numbers will continue to drop. Yet Schumer seems to think the Israelis will abandon their hard-won realism about the Palestinians and suddenly embrace the “two-state solution” that so captivates Chuck Schumer.
“All sides must reject thinking ‘from river to the sea thinking,’ and I believe they will if the prospects for peace and a two-state solution are real,” Schumer said no true progress will be made to end settler violence in the West Bank as long as Smotrich and Ben-Gvir are in power.
The Israelis do not need, contrary to Schumer’s belief, any lessons on “settler violence.” That violence has been greatly overblown in the media. It includes many acts of self-defense by settlers, and such nonviolent acts as graffiti. A few hundred settlers, at most, are believed involved. And every single incident where it is claimed that “settlers” have attacked the persons or property — cutting down olive trees, or appropriating sheep — of Palestinians, is investigated by the Israeli government, which does not hesitate to punish those settlers found guilty. Smotrich and Ben-Gvir can spout off all they want, but they are not the government; Netanyahu has long ignored their most outrageous demands.
Schumer also called on mainstream Arab states Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Jordan to use their power and influence with the Palestinians to deploy their clout, money, and diplomacy to support a new demilitarized Palestinian state that rejects terror and violence. He called on these nations to continue pursuing normalization with Israel.
A Palestinian promise of “demilitarization” is simply not a “solution” that Israel can rely on. Just as Hamas in Gaza was overflowing with weapons, despite the attempts of both Israel and Egypt to prevent them from entering the Strip, it’s hard to imagine that the eastern branch of a Palestinian state would not be able to smuggle in arms from Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, or air-dropped by Iran.

Schumer is just a crock of shit trying to round up votes from minorities and believes he has the jews vote all sewn up because he is one.

He should demand the two states solution to Palestine (Hamas or/and PA), not Israel, because it is Palestine who doesn’t want the solution.
Is he so dumb that he doesn’t understand the meaning of “from the river to the sea”? Probably he is like most of the left.

Israelis have lost faith in a two state solution while a two nation solution is gaining traction in the USA. President Trump wanted to Make America Great Again and Schumer and his gang came after him with blood lust in their hearts. Instead of MAGA the gang installed the man from FAN.
Schumer let the cat out of the bag when he said in response to President elect Trump’s criticism of U.S. intelligence agencies, “Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,”
So, Americans are hostage to the black ops creeps. They screwed up Iraq, they screwed up Afghanistan, they screwed up Libya, so, onward to Israel!
Ever since that fateful day that planes slammed in to the twin towers America has devolved. When we look at the USA before and after it is clear that Bin Laden won in his bloody rejection of all things U.S. Can you spot the similarities between Bin Laden and our government? I can.

Why would any morally sane person want to create *another* Islamic state in this world? We should be trying to *reduce* the number of these barbaric hell-holes – apart from anything else, we should be trying to free the people who have been deceived into believing all that Satanic nonsense. Splitting the moon in two, flying about the sky on a horse, etc.

Would Palestinians be happier in the region of Jordan taken from Israel in 1948? Everyone, it seems keeps talking about returning to borders…..

Jordan does not want the Palestinians , no Moslem country in the Middle East want them .If the Palestinians try to enter Jordan they will be gun down at the border ,and the MSM in the west would have little or nothing to say about it .Moslems killing Moslems is not news .Only Jews defending themselves from being attacked in their homes by jihadist gets an American Senator upset about how Israel conduces it self from being wipe off the map and all its people killed.
