An entire campus knows my name. Women throw themselves at me, hoping I’ll take them home that night. Whispers from the NHL say I’m the one to watch. And the weight of each game is on my shoulders because if our opposing team scores … that’s on me. All the things that keep me up at night are probably someone else’s dreams.
From the moment I saw Ryann Denver in my Business 101 class, I was intrigued and determined to get to know her. But unlike most girls at Brooks, she hates athletes. And when I introduce myself to her, she makes it perfectly clear that she's not interested. So, I walk away forever with my tail tucked firmly between my legs.
But as fate would have it, we’re paired up together in a charity dance event. And now, whether she likes it or not, she has to spend time with me. A lot of time. I guess I’m in luck because it turns out she can use me in her corner right now. And when she finds herself in trouble and I’m the only one she can run to, she figures out maybe I’m not that bad after all.
Ryann is going to see I’m not like the players she’s dated in the past.
Hannah Gray spends her days in vacationland, living in a small, quaint town on the coast of Maine. She is an avid reader of contemporary romance and is always in competition with herself to read more books every year.
During the day, she loves on her three perfect-to-her daughters and tries to be the best mom she can be. But once she tucks them in at night--okay, scratch that. Once they fall asleep next to her in her bed--because their bedrooms apparently have monsters in them--she dives into her own fantasy world, staying awake well into the late-night hours, typing away stories about her characters. As much as she loves being a wife and mom--and she certainly does love it--reading and writing are her outlet, giving her a place to travel far away while still physically being with her family.
She married her better half in 2013, and he's been putting up with her craziness every day since. As her anchor, he's her one constant in this insane, forever-changing world.
Ryann Denver came to the United States to pursue her dreams and create a better life for herself and her sister. When her future is threatened, it’s the perfect opportunity for Watson Gentry to get what he wants: Ryann.
I enjoyed these two immensely. Watson is, as the title suggests: perfect. He’s obsessed, dogged in his pursuit, kind, and romantic where Ryann is stubborn and jaded.
Their story is a spin on the fake relationship trope that I haven’t read a lot of and, after reading so many cookie cutter stories, it was nice to read something a bit different. Furthermore, this was my first book by the author and I’m looking forward to reading many more from her!

🛑 Be Advised: My Goodreads shelves are … explicit in both senses. As such, they could be considered spoiler-y.
I truly don’t know how Hannah does it, but she never EVER misses. I won’t even lie when I say I wasn’t all that excited for Watson’s story just based off of the other books… maybe because we didn’t know too much about him? However, Hannah sucked me in from the very beginning with his story. Dare I say it’s one of my favorites from this entire series?! What really shocked me? The absolute filthy mouth on Watson… He’s one of those that is a complete gentleman & will respect you outside of the bedroom but disrespect the F*CK out of you inside of it 🤭
Perfect Boy follows Watson Gentry & Ryann Denver. Watson is the star goalie for the Brooks University hockey team & Ryann is on the Brooks U dance team. These two get off on the wrong foot when Watson tries to introduce himself in one of their mutual classes & Ryann blows him off, thinking he’s just a typical hockey player playboy just trying to hit on her. To make matters worse, they get paired up to dance together for a charity event & are forced to spend time together. Ryann is a little prickly towards Watson until she finally realizes that he really isn’t like all the other athletes who only seem to want one thing. They end up creating a strong friendship within a matter of weeks. It isn’t until Ryann lands herself in some trouble that Watson truly becomes her knight in shining armor.
Tropes: - Sports Romance - Hockey Player x Ballerina - Marriage of Convenience - Forced Proximity - Cinnamon Roll MMC - Sassy FMC - He Falls First
Watson Gentry truly lives up to the title of Perfect Boy. The man is a walking green flag yet dives headfirst into a sea of red. In the process, he won Ryann’s heart and mine, too.
When Watson meets Ryann, he’s immediately attracted to the feisty dancer who wants nothing to do with him. But when the two are paired together for a charity dance, he sees his opportunity to show her that he’s not like every other jock. When Ryann is about to be deported, Watson offers to marry her, allowing her to remain at Brooks to finish her degree and then work toward her Broadway dreams. Little does she realize, he has no intention of ever letting her go.
Ryann’s past has led her to be distrustful of men and guarded with her heart. Watson breaks her walls down piece by piece just by being the man he is and by being relentless in his mission to show Ryann that she is lovable and that he’s the one who can love her best. Oh and also - he’s the definition of gentleman in the streets, freak in the sheets 👀
As always, Hannah’s last chapter was AMAZING, and it wasn’t until that point that I got a little teary. These couples and their stories are seriously engrained in my soul, and Watson and Ryann were an amazing addition to the series.
There’s something about Ryann; it makes me stop and take a second, third, or tenth look. And I found out today … she’s spicy. I’ve always liked things packed with a little heat.
Ryann Denver. The poor girl from Canada. In the US with a forged visa. She has sworn off men and relationships. She gets caught in an audit to her workplace. Will she be able to stay in the US and in Brooks?
Watson Gentry is a man straight from the sweetest rom-com. One that makes you feel all warm and gooey inside, like a freshly baked cookie that you can’t help but devour. And then, like a light switch, he’s a filthy-talking, orgasm-delivering hotshot.
Watson Gentry. The hockey prodigy. The goalie, who already has an NHL contract. He sets his sights on Ryann. How far is he willing to go to get her?
I roll my eyes, but the truth is, when he had his legs downward on that ice, rocking his hips to stretch himself out.. Well, I had thoughts running through my head. Dirty. Stupid. Sexy. Thoughts. Of me, underneath him.. Naked.
Let’s just say, Perfect Boy was a book of contradictions for me. There were parts that I loved and parts that made me cringe. Still, it all balanced out well enough in the end.
I was fine swearing off sex. That was, until Watson Gentry banged me into oblivion in a supply closet.
On one hand, I loved Ryann's attitude but, on the other hand, it seemed a bit excessive at times. Like their first meeting when Watson approached her? Girl good for you for holding your own but there's no need to be a bitch. Watson really was almost the perfect boy, though, so this book is definitely aptly named.
I don't know how other people felt but, personally, I cringed every time Watson called Ryann Tiny Dancer or Ry baby. I strongly disliked both nicknames and felt like they did not fit Watson or Ryann at all.
I’ve wanted her since I saw her in class for the first time. But she’s finally catching up to me. And it’s about fucking time.
From the beginning of Perfect Boy, it was clear Watson has the hots for Ryann. Having read part of the previous books in the series, I don't remember finding anything substantial about Watson and Ryann from before they became dance partners in the other books. I also would have preferred more insight into how Watson even noticed her, how his attraction grew and what led to him approaching her. Now, it was all missing.
I come off as rude on purpose. Because it’s imperative for me to keep guys like Watson Gentry away. To keep myself safe. Flirtatious Ryann cannot come out to play right now. Must. Stay. Strong.
Ryann pretty much thought he was hot from the beginning but had sworn of athletes and men in general. Yes, she definitely appreciated his good looks but still wanted nothing to do with him. I still feel like the change in her feelings from wanting nothing to do with him but finding him hot to lusting after him pretty much 24/7 should have been explored further.
Being called a slut in everyday life? Not fun. Being called a slut just before Watson Gentry rails the shit out of me against the supply closet wall? Hot.
Watson in all the spicy scenes? There's only one word that describes it: hot af. The way it seemed like he flipped a switch and became a different person. Not to mention his dirty talk! Watson is really the male equivalent for the saying "Lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets" and I’d never ever turn him down.
I found it interesting when Watson seemed to pick up on some clues of what's going on with Cade but never acted on them since he was always distracted with something else (Ryann). I think Watson was onto Cade long before Haley or anyone else.
This man is too good for me. He’s too good for a fake marriage and a half-assed wife. But maybe this marriage..isn’t so fake after all. It sure doesn’t feel fake. And my feelings, they are real.
Throughout the book, hints were dropped about Ryann's past but none of the bad stuff was ever properly detailed. Especially when she had the panic attack due to the fight between Watson and her ex, I would have wanted to know more about her background and why the fighting was so triggering for her.
My whole life, I’ve been trained to look for the worst in people. But I’m not sure there’s anything bad inside of that man. And here I am, using him to stay. Watson Gentry offered to marry me. Maybe I’ve lost my mind..because I said yes.
The main part of the book, the marriage of convenience between Watson and Ryann, was a bit of a predictable plot twist. I mean, Watson being super into Ryann but being constantly turned down? There is no one who would not have guessed that he would propose a marriage of convenience once he found out about her pinch with her visa. His behavior, while predictable, was super cute though. I loved the edge the marriage brought between Watson and Ryann and how it helped him to wear her down little by little.
However, I am not a fan of third-act break-ups in general and I am definitely not a fan of them when they are caused by stupid people for stupid reasons. That's how I felt about Ryann's actions. She definitely should have confided in Watson and talked with him.
She’s so set on not having sex with me, but little does she know, I’m looking for more than just a quick hookup when it comes to her. And someday, I’ll make that clear.
Overall, despite me having quite a bit of critique about Perfect Boy, I really liked it. Overall, the story was there, the MMC was chef's kiss and the FMC was not one to cower but, instead, someone who stood up for herself.
Despite all the little things, the thing that bothered me most about Perfect Boy was the constant change of POV. When a book and the characters are skillfully written, they can bring forth the other character's thoughts and feelings in their own POV. Now, I feel like Hannah Gray did not even try that but instead kept changing POV's every couple of pages and several times within one chapter which definitely rubbed me wrong.
I received an ARC of Perfect Boy in exchange for an honest review

Hannah Gray. GIRL. YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN. The way I am obsessed with this series is an understatement. I LOVE THIS WHOLE SERIES. Will forever have a special place in my heart and the fact that its not over after this one like we thought. as me SOO GIDDY. I can’t wait for Poppy’s story.
Perfect Boy is the 6th book in the Puck Boys of Brooks University series following Watson Gentry & Ryann Denver. Watson is the Wolves starting goalie & Ryann is a student and dancer at Brooks U. Ryann and Watson have a class togethers, and from the moment he laid eyes on her was the moment he found his dream girl. However, Ryann is not interested in the athletes of Brooks U, which she makes perfectly clear when he introduces himself.
Ryann finds herself in a little trouble being in the United States illegally with a fake visa. She is from Canada and came to the US for college and hopefully to start a better life for herself and her sister. Who is there to save the day? Watson sweeps in to play hero for this dream girl. He offers to marry her so that she is a citizen and doesn’t have to be deported. Little does Ryann know; Watson didn’t just marry her to help her. He married her so he can prove her wrong and show how amazing they can be together.
I WAS SWOONING OVER WATSON! That man is everything. They way he cares for the people he cares about especially Ryann. MELTED MY HEART. The spicy was everything. I loved it so much. I am so happy this series isn’t over just yet. Thank you, Hannah, for this ARC! Loved it so much.
I am constantly blown away by Hannah, she has now delivered 6 of some of the best books I’ve read. Every time I think she can’t top her last, she comes out proving just how amazing she is with her writing. She is my go to author who will never let me down & Perfect Boy is the exact reason why.
Ryann & Watson get paired up for a charity dance and she is not excited at all. She thinks all jocks are the same and wants nothing to do with him… Watson works his charm and has her dropping her walls and realizing that he’s not like the other jocks. In the middle of her putting her walls down and accepting him as a friend something happens… which leads her married to the boy she said she’d never fall for.
I went into this so excited for Watson and his sweet cinnamon roll side BUT my god Hannah brought the damn spice. I was shocked at the things coming out of his mouth… I loved it 😮💨
I’ll be honest I was not a fan of Ryann at the beginning but after reading her story and why she had her walls up it made me love her & by the end I was ride or die for Ryann.
If you haven't started Puck Boys of Brooks University take this as your sign and start it now!

WATTY BOY IS THE NEW #1 PUCK BOY ON MY ROSTER. (I know 😱, I’m shocked too!!)
I just want to slow clap my girl, Hannah, for this one. It’s a whole masterpiece. Full disclosure, I cried a few times. Sooo buckle up!
This is book 6 in the Puck Boys series! 6!!!! 🥹 how did we get here? It follows goalie Watson Gentry and dancer Ryann Denver.
Long story short, she’s sworn off athletes after her ex ruined that idea for her. Being paired up with Watson for a charity dance event means she’s forced to see they’re not all bad 😏. She works at the ✨club✨ with Sutton girl. Her visa from Canada isn’t legal, and it becomes a PROBLEM. The solution? Marry Watson for one year.
Problem? She can’t stand him. And her heart is locked up tighter than Fort Knox (you’ll find out the reasons and boy are they valid.)
So what happens when the lines start to blur, and the physical attraction becomes too much? Sparks quite literally FLY. The spice in this book is top tier, y’all. Top. Tier. 🔥
Tropes: enemies to lovers • fake marriage • forced proximity • cinnamon roll MMC • broken MFC • afraid to love • hockey goalie x dancer • melt your kindle HOT 🥵
Hannah girl, I love you. Thank you for another incredible puck boy to love! Love you so much!! 💜
Let’s say I’m in love with Watson. Does that surprise me? No, Hannah only writes HANDSOME men and POWERFUL women.
[here I am writing this without giving away spoilers about something that’s a BIG part of the plot and why these two get married]
Ryann and Watson earned a special place in my heart. They were beautiful together. We already knew these two characters from Hunter's (Chosen Boy) book, where they got "together" for a charity project. I had been dying to read their story ever since the bombshell dropped in Cade's (Lost Boy) book, and believe me, it didn't disappoint.
Ryann is one of those main characters you love from the start, but when you learn her backstory, you love her even more, and you just want to protect her. She goes through a lot, yet always maintains a smile and is there for others. My heart broke for her in many ways, but I also greatly admired her personality and strength. Watson, on the other hand, is nothing short of perfect (just like the book’s title suggests). He understands Ryann very well, supports her in every way he can, defends her, and what I liked most was his personality. Our goalie is a golden boy, but with a bedroom attitude that left me trembling.
This story touched me deeply. It's a story where Hannah's care and love for writing shines through. I loved the characters, and there's definitely a little surprise that Hannah gave us.
📌 I received an e-arc, and this is my honest opinion/review of it.
---
I swear with every book that Hannah rights I always think there’s not way she’ll top her last book, but every time I’m proven wrong. Every book in this series has been perfection, and Perfect Boy is no different.
When I tell you I ate this book up?? I couldn’t put it down. Watson and Ryann are literal angels and no one can tell otherwise. I loved everything about their not so fake, fake marriage and the way that they truly became each other’s person.
Watson is a top five book boyfriend for me and has now tied with Hunter for first place in the Brooks U Universe. Everything about him was absolute perfection and I will die on that hill. Also the amount of times he dropped the “my wife” line…deceased…his dirty mouth totally did me in and the way he was a total and complete SIMP for Ryann from the first moment sealed the deal.
Ryann is a new favorite FMC for me. The way she selflessly did things to protect her sister but also wanted better for the two of them was so heartwarming. I loved how she dropped her walls little by little and let Watson in…and the way she loved him and let herself be loved by him was beautiful.
I am so sad to see this series end…I really wish we had more but Hannah did the last book perfectly. Thank you to wordsmith publicity and Hannah for the ARC!
I don’t know how Hannah names her men, but they fully embody their titles! Watson Gentry truly was the perfect boy!
What to expect:
- Hockey romance - marriage of convenience - cinnamon roll hero x sassy ballerina heroine - He falls first (and so hard)
4.75 ⭐️ / 3 🌶️
As with the previous few books in this series, the hockey boys are teamed up with the dance team for a charity fundraiser. Watson has had his eye on Ryann, and luckily they are teamed up. She’s not about him though, not trusting anyone. The tension between them is so thick! It is discovered that Ryann is in the US illegally and Watson offers to marry her for a green card. He’s got his dream girl, can he keep her?
ALRIGHT WATSON! I see you 👀 👀 Hannah really being sneaky and teasing us with glimpses of Watson throughout this series and then slamming us ALL with the true definition of “a gentleman in the streets, a freak in the sheets”. PASS ME A FAN COS I AM HOT 🪭🪭🪭
Watson literally was perfect; a team player, a good son, brother and friend. He was swoony as heck, the forehead kisses killed me. He was beautifully possessive of Ryann and I am here for the “my wife” moments.
I loved Ryann as an FMC; after a traumatic childhood, I really don’t blame her for wanting to better her life and that of her sister. She’s been THROUGH it. She’s a fighter and a survivor. I loved how she was so strong within herself but let herself be open to Watson as he slowly chipped away at her walls and opened her heart to him. Ugh they were so hot together. I can’t deal. Watson was the best at allowing Ryann to give up that control she found it hard to relinquish, and reassuring her that he would always be there.
The last chapter of this book made me shed a wee tear; it was so special to see all the characters of this whole series back together.
Thank you for the arc Hannah, it’s a pleasure to be on your team and read your work!
Well, hot DAMN 🥵🔥🫠. If someone told me that Watson Gentry would be the k!nkiest of the Puck Boys, I would have laughed in their faces 🤣🤭. But here we are, the SWEETEST, most genuine guy, this giant of a goalie, who loves his mama and all her scented candles was my undoing with his filthy mouth and dominance 👀. But enough salivating over Watson! Watson sees Ryann in one of their shared college classes and is immediately a goner, so he approaches her… only for Ryann to almost bite his head off and reject him on the spot! And it’s not because she isn’t attracted to him, no! It’s because Ryann is jaded by her past, her childhood and her controlling and emotionally abusive ex boyfriend. So she has sworn off guys and relationships. But their paths cross again after they’ve been paired up to dance together at Brody’s fundraiser 👀. This book was the perfect example of HE FALLS FIRST! Watson could see right through Ryann’s bullsh!t and was not giving up and after a while, when Ryann is in danger of being deported back to Canada for having a forged visa, he offers to marry her 🤭. Ryann was like a black cat, easily angered and a total b!tch, but this was her coping mechanism, to protect herself, but Watson broke down all her walls, made her feel valued and worthy and LOVED omg 🥹. He literally was the Perfect Boy and the right person for Ryann! Also… the nicknames had me FERAL 😍. Tiny Dancer, Ry baby, dreamgirl, good girl… good.fcking.girl 👀. And of course the ultimate name, “my wife”! Arghhh I loved it to pieces! Watson was the perfect balance between a gentleman and a filthy guy, and Ryann was a FIGHTER, a survivor through and through!
Dare I say... that Watson Gentry just took #1 Puck Boy spot for me? OMG I am obsessed.
Ryann Denver is on the dance team at Brooks University and is as spunky as ever. She is not interested in any men, she is there to pursue to her career in choreography and that is it... until her place of work finds out that she has forged her Visa into the United States and being deported is now a threat to her... Watson Gentry is obsessed with Ryann.. even after she publicly rejected him in their class together... but he is determined to make her his no matter what the cost is.. and maybe it's becoming her husband? Even though he is not her favorite person in the world and she is totally closed off to relationships.. He is determined to keep her in the US.
These two are EVERYTHING. I loved the bond that they formed before they even got married and their banter was everything and let me just tell you... Hannah did not come to play with the spice in this book, Watson is FILTH and I loved every bit of it.

HANNAH YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!
watsons story was 🥰🥰 i have loved all the moments we get with him in everyone else’s book and his own book did not disappoint! The man knew what he wanted, fell hard & had such a filthy mouth! What is better than a cinnamon roll MMC with a dirty mouth? NOTHING!
Our girl Ryann, she was having no part in Watson games after ending a relationship with the football player! However a little forced proximity made her realize Watson is the sweetest guy. I really enjoyed ryanns character, she was so blunt! She worked so hard to provide for her sister and I love the way Watson swooped in and showed her how a lady should be treated as well!
Thank you so much Hannah & Wordsmith Publicity for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Not a win for me. Fast paced and farfetched. Which, don't get me wrong, are not always the worst but in this case weren't a hit for me. Watson and Ryann weren't terrible and Watson was a good man and Ryann began trusting him, but this book lacked a bit in plot. It lacked some detail and story building. The conflict was resolved quickly though and I do always love that.
Have you ever read a book where you feel like the author just peaked inside your brain and pulled out all the little things that make you feral? Well that’s this book for me!!! It’s absolute and utter perfection especially for someone who is a literal unhinged gremlin over the Fake Marriage trope. I melt the minute “my wife” gets thrown around!
WATSON GENTRY is top tier with his “my wife” vibes and his possessiveness. I LOVE HIM! He is perfect just like the book suggests.❤️

Watson and Ryann were so fun to watch. Watson is the good guy in the streets but an absolute spicy dominant in the bedroom and I am here for it. I’m also here for the fact that he looked and Ryann, decided she was his and set out to proving it to her over and over. I also loved Ryann because she was flawed but so relatable. She had no good relationship examples and she made herself hard to love on purpose. Too bad she didn’t stand a chance against her persistent husband.
Hannah always writes excellent spice, but she just sat down and took it up a level. It was winter and I was full on sweating the spice was just that good!
This book is absolutely fantastic and I’m officially claiming Watson as my favorite Puck Boy and I will fight everyone for hiim!!
Every time that I read a book in this series, I declare that I have a new favorite puck boy. Well, this time, I really mean it. I have a new favorite puck boy, and his name is Watson Gentry.
Everyone at Brooks U knows Watson's name. He has his spot waiting for him in the NHL and he has women throwing themselves at his feet. So, when he introduces himself to Ryann Denver and she totally disses him, he's definitely thrown off his game. As luck would have it though, Watson and Ryann get teamed up for a charity dance fundraiser. She'll have to get to know him since they'll be spending a lot of time together, and soon she'll realize that maybe he's a good guy. Ryann needs a good guy to save her and Watson is more than willing even if it means becoming her husband.
Watson is perfect book boyfriend material. He loves his mom, gets nervous around the girl that he likes, and he's totally respectful until he has his woman alone...then, this boy has a dirty mouth and likes to take control. Ryann has built up so many walls and she's not one to trust, but Watson slowly breaks down those walls. I couldn't get enough of these two together and I loved watching their relationship develop. There is a touch of drama and angst which had me doing some nail biting and brought me to tears a time or two, and there is enough steam to heat up my Kindle. I'm typically not a huge fan of the "fake marriage" trope, but in this book? It was perfection.
If you're in your hockey era like I am, then this is one book (and one series) that you should definitely have added to your TBR.

I have read this whole series and after each book I think it’s my favorite and again that’s gonna happen with Perfect Boy, Hannah did not disappoint. This is the story of Watson and Ryann.
The Fmc, Ryann, has basically sworn off relationships and men , instead has chose to focus on school and bettering her life and making her dreams come true. She is sassy and fiercely independent as she’s had a hard life growing up in Canada.
The MMC, Watson is on track to be an NHL Goalie . HE FINALLY works up the courage to talk to Ryann, and ask her out and she shoots him down. They are forced to partner of for a charity dance and start spending more time together.
When Watson and Ryann finally come together there story inflicts all the emotions, the sass, the spice and the sweetness. Watson was just so incredibly sweet and Swoonworthy. He is fiercely loyal and protective.
This story does come with its own dilemma just like all of these books there’s always some conflict, each one different. But both Watson and Ryann were trying to protect each other. I love how Watson showed Ryann so much love and that she was worthy of love and how her dreams mattered .
I have loved this whole series and can’t wait for the next book. Thank you to Wordsmith Publicly for allowing me to read in advance.
Perfect Boy by Hannah Gray swept me off my feet from the first page! Oh my gosh.
I'll admit, this was my first time diving into Gray's work, and I'm kicking myself for not abandoning other books and reading her's sooner. The chemistry between Ryann and Watson is absolutely electric, and their initial meeting had me both cracking up and swooning simultaneously. Watson is the epitome of Mr. Perfect, but what I loved most was uncovering the layers and depth to his character. He seamlessly transitions between being the perfect gentleman and embracing his more - ahem... adventurous side, and it was captivating. Even I as a reader felt safe with Watson, he is the epitome of everything I want in an MMC.
As for Ryann, I felt an instant connection with her. Her independence, loyalty to her friends, and the burden she carries resonated with me deeply. Like her, I understand the need for control, and watching her slowly let Watson in and release some of that burden was both heartwarming and relatable.
The supporting characters added another layer of enjoyment to the story, and realizing the timeline connections made the experience even more delightful.
Overall, Perfect Boy is a fantastic read that left me eager to explore more of Gray's work. I can't wait to dive into the rest of the Puck Boys series and see where this talented author takes us next! If you're looking for a steamy romance with depth and heart, look no further than Perfect Boy!
I honestly dont have the number of stars I would like to give this book. more than the stars in the sky thats for sure. 3.5 spice (Watson is the perfect amount of dirty)
I usually start these reviews with each character in the book, and basically a synopsis of who they are.. yada yada yada... I dont want to review this book like that. It feels to formal for this book.. like its a book a read all the time and is like all the others, but, I will tell you right now- ITS NOT. SO- I'll start.
Perfect Boy is the 6th book in the Puck Boys series... it's about two college kids (Watson & Ryann). Watson is the goalie for the Wolves hockey team and Ryann is a ballet dancer... if feel like who they are as individuals isn't as important in this book as who they are when they become one person. its a love at first sight kind of moment for Watty when he see's her enter one of his classes but, instead of falling at his feet, she pushes him away with her crap attitude because she has sworn off men, especially jocks.
If you're a true HG fan, you know Watson is paired up with her in the dance fundraiser for O'Briens charity, and the forced proximity is SO WELL PLAYED, they end up FAKE MARRIED & its his mission to make the girl who can't stand him fall in love with him.
The true star of this book, well while I love Watson so much, truly, is Ryann.. the emotional childhood trauma that this story tells is SO real for so many people... she is literally trying to survive, doing everything she can just to make it. Hannah shows the struggles and the HARDNESS that comes from having to do what you HAVE TO DO to make it. She makes no apologies for WHO SHE IS... & im FREAKING OBSESSED WITH THAT.
We all know Hannah only write HEA's but, I loved how the FMC didn't just cave to Watson super quickly.. she is who she is to a fault.. and even though Watson Gentry is VERY SWOONY and the ultimate book husband in my eyes- trust is earned, and she makes him fight for it.
With that being said- Watson is the real freaking deal ya'll.. he puts her first- every single damn time. He feels what she feels, he doesn't put her in situations that cause more hurt that good. HE JUST SHOWS UP FOR HER!! OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
I love them. I love them both, I love that this book will seep deep inside people and it will find the childhood trauma that so many of us live with and wrap its words around us by giving us the most gracious hug. Hannah just does that. She gets me.. in my soul. its almost scary...

HANNAH DOES NOT MISS. This entire series is a million stars for me - and the fact that it’s not over after this one… I’m feral.
Book 6 of the Puck Boy series follow Watson Gentry, the Wolves starting goalie, and Ryan Denver, a student and dancer at Brooks U. Watson and Ryann have a class together, and from the moment he laid eyes on her, he was enthralled with her. Ryann however, is not interested in the athletes of Brooks U, which she makes perfectly clear when he introduces himself. However, when Ryann finds herself in trouble, Watson sweeps in to play white knight to show her he’s not so bad after all.
Y’all - I was NOT prepared for Watson Gentry to steal my GD heart. The mouth on this man had my jaw on the floor… it’s always the quiet ones lol. I also loved how determined her was to show Ryann just how perfect he could be for her. He really lived up to his title of “perfect boy”.
Ryann was one of my favorite FMCs from this series - she was such a force. The way she took care of herself and her sister. The sas she gives Watson constantly. I couldn’t help but adore her character. She was a bada**.
The “my wife” in this book is top tier. Hannah absolutely did not disappoint and I will continue to recommend this series to ANYONE who will listen.
I dont know how she does it, But Hannah has.. again. I was completely blown away by Watson & Ryann! I didnt expect to love Watson, but boy do I! Dare I even say, hes my favourite so far out of this series (Do I say that every time? This series just gets better and better!)
This guy was gone for Ryann from the get go, but is shot down immediately. When he finds a way to save the girl he doesnt even give it a second thought. His love was selfless and pure and real and.. be still my heart. He would have given her the world and thanked her for letting him along for the ride. I will forever protect & love this guy 💜 and he is the true definition of good boy but a very very bad boy between the sheets. Boy had me sweating with that mouth. Move over Ryann. I volunteer as tribute if you doubt him again.
Ryann, our broken tiny dancer, who literally puts everything on the line for others. With a troubled childhood she didnt want the same for her sister so did everything in her power to not let that happen yet still kept a little of herself to better herself by chasing a dream. Again, selfless but couldn’t open her heart to love after her past and ex.
How he slowly, persistently, broken down the walls she had built was gorgeous. Fiercely protective of her and loved her regardless of her hesitation. This was everything. This title couldnt be more perfect, because he was!
Hannah , I absolutely loved this! I keep saying each one is better than the last, but truly it’s that I just love all of them. Although, I do believe that Watson is my favorite Puck Boy. He is the equivalent of a “gentleman in the streets, and a freak in the streets”, a southern, slow talking, quiet, friendly, loyal man. I really felt the chemistry between Watson & Ryann and have been anticipating his book for awhile, after reading the snippets of him throughout the series. I definitely cried some in that last 20% or so too. This was written perfectly and I thoroughly enjoyed it. An easy read, but also consuming, emotional, and as always, those spicy scenes were oh so good!
Ryann has had a tough life growing up and was forced to do things she’s not proud of just to hopefully create a better life for herself and her sister. She’s sworn off relationships, especially to jocks. Watson is the goalie of the hockey team biding his time, and getting his degree, before heading off to the NHL. They meet in a class and she is dream girl, even though she gives him a hard time and won’t give him the time of day. They find themselves in a marriage of convenience and the road they are on proves to be rough but worth it.
𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐁𝐨𝐲 is the sixth book in The Puck Boys of Brooks University Series by Hannah Gray, featuring a spicy and emotional marriage of convenience/ hockey romance for Watson and Ryann. Watson is intrigued by Ryann from the moment he spots her in class, but her past has left her jaded, especially where athletes are concerned. Maybe his luck has changed, when they get paired up for a charity dance program. They are forced to spend tons of time together, but then, Ryann finds herself in a legal bind, and Watson may be the only one who can save the day… by becoming her husband.
Every book in this series is amazing, and this one is another fabulous addition! I’ve been curious about these two since I read Chosen Boy. Ryann is a strong, sassy FMC with so many layers. Her backstory is guaranteed to touch your heart, as her selflessness, love, and loyalty shine. Watson really is her “Perfect Boy,” and he definitely is in it to win it!! I 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 that he is a gentleman in the streets and a freak in the sheets!!😍🥵 He can go from swoon-worthy sweetness to dirty-talk and spicy moments throwing “my wife” around in no time at all! He’s also extremely family oriented, which is something they connect on. You can’t beat the world building of the this series, and the complexity of all the characters. Their interactions feel authentic and bring banter and camaraderie. The final chapter was the perfect way cap off this amazing story!
I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶
“You are worthy of every single thing good, Ryann. It’s me who shouldn’t feel worthy of you. And I know I’m not. But as long as you’ll let me, I’m going to spend my life trying to be.”
Tropes: College Hockey Romance Fake Marriage of Convenience Frenemies to Lovers Hockey Player x Ballet Dancers Golden Retriever MMC Sassy FMC He Falls First
Vibes: This boy is perfect. Seriously Watson Genty is top tier book boyfriend material. Golden retriever with a dirty mouth. Ryann Denver is perfectly imperfect. She’s raw and real and has been dealt a tough hand. When circumstances forced her hand, she chose to fight for her dreams, until the cost became too steep. There is so much chemistry between these MCs. I love that Ryann finds a safe space in Watson. His darker side in the bedroom is soo spicy, but he is a totally momma’s boy with a heart of gold. “The things in life that are the hardest often come with the highest level of reward.”
Recommended to... All readers of spicy college hockey romances.
i am not usually a marriage of convenience girly, but pair it with characters that start bonding before the MOC, have insane chemistry/banter and an insanely sweet (but dirty-mouthed) MMC, and apparently i love it 🤣🤣🤣
watson & ryann initially meet during class and ryann won't even give watson the time of day. seriously, their first interaction had my jaw dropping & honestly feeling a little sad for our boy watty 🤣 soon after, they get paired up for a dance event to raise money for a good cause. they quickly start to bond, despite ryann's reluctance and i just absolutely loved every single scene with them. it was NEVER boring. it was always either extremely cute, extremely hot or tugging at the heart strings 🥹
the third act conflict was fairly predicatable and i do feel like it was avoidable, but no character was outwardly mean to the other and it didn't last *super* long so i didn't mind it too much lol
watson's nickname for ryann was "tiny dancer" and i thought that was so freaking cute 🤣🫶 hannah gray's writing has me in a chokehold & she added two more characters to my favorites list 🩵
• marriage of convenience • reverse grumpy x sunshine • forced proximity • he falls first • sassy FMC
Hannah Gray knows how to write good men & Watson Gentry is just another to add to the long growing list!
Watson is the goalie for Brooks hockey team & Ryann is a dancer. They end up getting married out of convenience but what happens when it no longer feels like a fake marriage…
The title of the book is definitely accurate because Watson really is the perfect boy. Ryann has a lot of damage and has trouble with letting people get close to her. I’ll admit she really irritated me in the beginning but then she started to grow on me.
Watson’s determination to get her to fall for him was so sweet and I loved seeing how he tried to get her to open up to him and never gave up on her. 🥺
💜Marriage of Convenience 🏒He falls first 💜Forced Proximity 🏒Sassy Heroine 💜Cinnamon Roll Hero 🏒Hockey Romance
Thanks Wordsmith Publicity & Hannah Gray for the ARC🫶🏼
Love me some Fake Marriage romance, the hockey is a plus!
Ryann is a talented dancer who forged her visa to have a better life and become a choreographer.
Watson is an amazing goalie, who has a spot in the NFL, who has a huge crush on his dance partner.
Ryann gets a heads up that they found out about her being in America is based on a lie. She slips up and tells Watson and he comes up with the idea of marriage.
I loved the grumpy/sunshine banter. Oh and how the quiet ones you have to look out for, Mr. Gentry is a dirty talker *swooning over here* I would marry him in a heartbeat!
I didn’t expect Watson to head straight to the top of my list and sit alongside Cade & Cam but there he is 🤣 This marriage of convenience is the most realistic I’ve ever read bc it’s actually based on Ryann needing a visa and not something dumb like a will and inheritance. This book ticked SO many boxes for this trope and I am here for IT. The way they both just fell for each other and then didn’t fight it? Incredible!!!!! Watson throwing out “wife” every chance he gets? Yes. The two of them both showing a lil bit of jealousy? Yuuup. Crawl? CRAWL?! Enough said xx The list honestly just goes on but I’m not gonna be one to spoil everything. I want to say this was a 4.5 because honestly there was only so much fundraiser storyline I could handle. I know their whole relationship started because of that but after 3 books I’m lowkey tired of hearing about the same fundraiser 😶😶😶
