I only have room for two things in my life: football and my daughter. At least until my brother's ex-girlfriend shows up at my team's stadium needing a white knight.
When I find out she's also got a secret summer checklist that I'm uniquely qualified for? I've forgotten all the reasons she should be off limits, and I'm signing up to be more than just her part-time bodyguard.
But when the threats she's receiving escalate and the danger is at our doorstep, we have to decide if more than one summer is worth fighting for—whatever the cost.
Hello tone-change! Because this book, this book right here? It just hits different. And I am here for it! (Did you hear me clap out each one of those words? Because I did). And now, mind you, I feel I've got some authority to speak on the subject of what constitutes a fantastic Maggie Rawdon book considering I've read every-single-one of Maggie's books (every single one, and some multiple times - I love you Ben!), but there's something happening here - the tone, the approach, the content, the characters... if this is a new Maggie Rawdon, I'm here for her and all of her words! Ma'am, gimme more!
"Mine to Gain" is the second in this series but even though I loved Madison and Quentin pretty hard and fierce, Cooper and Bea (or Trix, whichever you prefer) just have it going on!
Now, Maggie is a master of many things, I fiercely love her "he falls first" and "enemies to lovers" and when the MFC is just oblivious, because let's be honest: Maggie is a master of all of these things. She also writes a dang amazing strong and sometimes even downright witchy MFC, and often her MMC are kinda... well, some of 'em are ... how to put it kindly ... jerks? Or can be jerky? Some of them at least, especially when trying to gain a certain someone's attention. He-hemm. And don't get me wrong, I have loved every single descriptive word. But I say all of this because Cooper and Bea are not these things.
Cooper is kind and smexy and lovey-dovey in his "he falls first" but he's also charming and endearing - and his possessive growly self is just different from how Maggie's leading men have been until now. And lemme tell you a little somethin' somethin' - Cooper is sooooo delicious! Like *rawr* delicious. Slather the man with some caramel sauce, top him off with some whipped cream and gimme a bite of him. Because - yum. Meanwhile, Bea is ... the woman is so darn sweet! She's so considerate of others and so kind - BUT!!! she is this way WITHOUT being a doormat, which I feel other authors often fall into when they write such a sweet and considerate character. Bea is NOT that, no sirrybob, Maggie did NOT make her that - and so, we love her so much more. Bea is strong and fierce, she is smart and capable, but she's all of that in such a kind and beautiful way. And these two main characters traits are a bit of tone change, IMHO, from Maggie's usual MO - but ladies and ladies, and maybe some gentlemen, I gotta tell you: I am so here for it. For all of it!
As if that all weren't intriguing enough, this book has what feels like three different things happening all at once. The first is the fact that Cooper is finally getting his shot at Bea, who, oh yeah, just so happens to be his BROTHER'S ex-girlfriend! *scoff* color me intrigued and sign me up for that family drama! I mean, aren't we just here for all of that drama sure to fill the next family gathering? I know I am! Additionally there's a potential stalker situation happening which gives us these "whodunnit" vibes. And all of this is happening at the same time. And THEN! Maggie's given us a first single parent trope with Cooper having a pre-teen daughter who plays a pivotal role in the book. And for me, I loved how this changed the tone of the book as well, because we don't have a baby playing into the plot, but a teenager who's got insight and thoughts as well as effects the transition of events taking place. And I gotta tell you, I love his daughter and the relationship between her and her dad as well as between her and Bea! I may or may not have DM'd Maggie and on the sly was like, "oh so heyyyyy, can she have her own book? *eyeballs*" I may or may not have done that....
To rein my rambling thoughts and myself in a bit - this book was so chockfull of so many moving parts that it kept us guessing, and I for one couldn't flip those pages fast enough - but you don't really realize all of the moving parts of the story until you're reaching the end of the book. But as you begin reading, it is when you realize that this book feels different. That there are other factors at play here. And I for one was all for it! I quickly found myself loving both main characters and for such curious reasons. I loved their HEA. I loved the single parent dynamic too. But this also had an element of suspense, which I really dug! Combine that with the she's the brother's ex-girlfriend and all the delicious confrontations... oh this is so juicy. And ma'am, Ramsay? Girl, you better be giving that man a book because I neeeeed to learn so much about this man who is all feisty and mysterious and dark... ohhh he's got demons, and I need to learn about each and every delicious one. So for those reading, you saw my two "next book wish list" requests: Cooper's daughter and Ramsay. Maggie, this is my formal request. But all in all, yet another 5 star Maggie Rawdon read for me. I love the changed dynamics and tone - and it just makes me want so many more words and stories.
I loved these characters so much. Cooper was a Stern Brunch Daddy Cinnamon Roll for Trix, he's younger brother's ex-girlfriend. He comes in like a White Knight, right from the beginning. Starting with something as simple as getting her past the gate guard and eventually becoming her refuge from a stalker. Then even fake dates her for protection as well.
It's not a real hardship for him because he has secretly pinned after her for a while. He was never gonna make a move when she was with his brother, but now that they are over and she's back in town. He's thinking it might be time to back away from the playboy lifestyle and try something more serious. He has always been careful because he is a Pro-footballer and a single dad. But Trix is just the woman to change all that.
Unfortunately, she's not looking for anything serious and even has a sexy checklist of naughty things to try out now that she's a free woman. But when Cooper accidentally hears her list, which happens to mention him... he steps in to help her.
We do have a stalker in the background, which is what urges them into the fake dating scenario. I liked the subtle level of suspense it added and having already read Bull Rush, I liked seeing what Ramsey's role in it all was.
Narrated by Lucy Rivers and Dane Anderson. They were just stunning. This was a very addictive audio book.
5 Stars 3.5 on the spice scale

*Thank you to Must Love Audio and the author for an ALC of this title.*
Holy shirtballs! I freaking loved EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. of this. Now I am already a Maggie fan, a Maggie STAN if you will… but this book right here just hits different.
Maggie took all the things she is absolutely a goddess at, and then added some new things that packed an absolute punch.
Cooper Rawlings is everything. EVERYTHING! it was like she took Colt and Tobias and melted them into this Filthy mouthed Cinnamon roll single dad and… YES. Just all the yes. Stern Brunch daddy Cooper reporting for duty!
And the tropes in this one hit different. There are so many going on that you wouldn’t think they seamlessly go together but they do. They so do.
TROPES ⬇️ ✨ Football Romance ✨ A little bit of Suspense ✨ Ex’s Brother ✨ Single Dad ✨ Cinnamon Roll Hero ✨ A Spicy Wishlist ✨ Friends to Lovers
Cooper and Beatrix (Trix) have a shared history as she is his brothers long time girlfriend turned ex. One Cooper has been pining for from afar. When she moves to Cincinnati to do Pr for his team, Cooper takes the chance to protect her when she attracts a stalker. And when he overhears the contents of her spicy summer checklist, he does a lot more than just protect her!
Now I love Maggie’s brand of enemies to lovers where the MCs come out sniping at each other, but I was so surprised when I absolutely loved that these two were friends first. There was trust there and this forbidden type of attraction that really worked so well for their story. And add in the fact that Cooper had a teenager daughter who loved Trix as well, it was such a fun dynamic to explore and really added depth to all the plot twists that unfolded.
And man was this thing spicy. 🥵 like look up the the lyrics to ludacris’s “fantasy” and it will give you some “inspiration.” 🔥🔥 Like jaw on the floor, holy goodness this is fantastic, spicy spice spice.
But underneath it all, this book had so much heart. Cooper and Bea have been under each others noses for a while and they are just absolutely a perfect match Bea is sweet but not a doormat and Cooper is a playboy but ready to commit for the right person. watching them get their (hard fought) HEA in the end was so absolutely satisfying. I didn’t think Colt St George could be beat but Cooper Rawlings just stole his crown 👑
*audio reread* Dane Anderson and Lucy Rivers do a fabulous job as Cooper and Trix. Also, I forgot how spicy this one was 🥵🥵 definitely great performances.
At this point, if Maggie writes it, I’m going to read it, and chances are high it’s gonna be 5 stars. But specific things I loved about Mine to Gain:
I need more ex’s brother books to be written right now because this was so dang good. I swear every time Cooper brought up being better than his brother is any way, I was grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
There’s a suspense aspect to this one that immediately had me in I NEED TO KNOW mode through a good chunk of the book. I absolutely didn’t want to put it down and had to finish it the same day.
Holy moly the spice. Lots of good spice. Outdoor camping scene = rent free. Also, I want cupcakes.
And finally, the lesson that Siri can simultaneously be your best friend and your worst enemy. The full belly laugh this provided me is much appreciated.
When it comes to sports romance Maggie Rawdon is the best! I was hooked from the first page. Mine To Gain had some of my favorite tropes ever, single dad, brother’s ex, friends with benefits, forced proximity and of course football. Cooper and Trix had such a great relationship and their chemistry was amazing right from the beginning. I also like getting to see characters from the other books pop in here and there.
This is the second book in Maggie’s Queen City series and it’s a sportsball book lol, Britt and Libby. I’m just kidding, it’s football, but there’s very little on page sports anything… which is actually probably good cuz I’m not a football girl. I’m a redneck Albertan, it’s hockey and rodeo for me lol. Anyway, turns out I don’t actually mind football romance when it’s written well and Maggie writes a damn good book!
I’m gunna try to keep this spoiler free… In a nutshell you’ve got a NFL player, playboy, single dad and ex’s brother meets PR goddess, rival players little sister and younger brothers ex girlfriend. I feel like that was a lot and kind of confusing so just take a minute to sort that one out in your heads lol. It started off kinda meh and then took a sharp right turn with some added plot that I really liked, and it kept it a lot more interesting than what I thought we were gunna get. I really like Cooper as a character, everything about him was really well done, especially his relationship with his daughter. I didn’t mind Bea - she wasn’t my favourite but she was alright… until the end when she made some really stupid choices. I don’t think there’s anything that drives me quite as crazy as a smart FMC who ends up making really idiotic decisions, it just feels like their personality is suddenly different and I dislike it. Overall though, she and Cooper were really sweet and cute together and were written really well as a couple. Plus I do really love an ex’s brother trope, I fucking love the drama of it and this definitely gave me that haha. The spice was decent, nothing crazy but it was written well and there weren’t any ick words BUUUUT…
I will say one thing lol… minor spoiler warning coming at ya, skip this next paragraph if you don’t want to know what my sexy time ick was… Can we please stop putting bodily fluids, specifically cum, on foods. It’s fucking gross lol. I do not need to read about a guy taking his own cum, that has previously been inside of said girls vag, and spreading it on top of a cupcake and then eating it. Cum is not icing, please do not ruin cupcakes or icing for us lol. K thanks. And yes, I recognize that I’m fucking weird lol. I can handle crazy period sex but this one is my limit… I know y’all, I know. I don’t make the rules in my brain lol.
Despite that little rant I really did enjoy this book lol. The banter was good, the relationships were good and the characters were mostly really good lol… but the real highlight of this book was Ramsey. Now maybe this is just me, because I read this book with the soul intention of meeting Ramsey and getting ready for Bull Rush. But it felt like the entire purpose of this book was introducing us to him. He literally stole the entire fucking show and I’m not upset about it. Right from his first interaction with Bea, I was like YUP, I love you. Then with the way it ended, I now need this man in a fuckin biblical way. I’m feral for him already. That was thee best lead up to another book that I have read in a long fucking time (that’s not fantasy.) Thank fuck Bull Rush comes out in two days because I need him immediately. I’m so glad that I don’t have to wait months and months lol.
So yes, I would recommend this for sure. Especially if you want to read Bull Rush! I think this is a must read beforehand if you want to get the full picture of what Ramsey will be. Thank you Britt for insisting that I read this first!!
This story follows Beatrix and Cooper. Beatrix is working alongside her ex-boyfriend’s older brother when, during a drunken night, she creates a list with her girlfriends of things she wants to explore in the bedroom. Faced with a potential threat, she accepts the offer to move in with Cooper, a handsome NFL player, for the summer. But what could go wrong?
This was such a good read, and the audiobook was fantastic! I loved the premise of the story and honestly couldn’t stop laughing when the “list” was read out loud. The chemistry between the two characters was brilliant, and the relationship between Beatrix and Cooper’s daughter, Lizzy, was so sweet. I didn’t see the twist coming regarding the person behind the threats, and I absolutely loved how their relationship was flaunted in front of her ex—plus, Cooper standing up for her was perfect. Overall, this was a great read!

First off, let me just say the spice in this was 😏🔥 and there was a lot of it. I like my books open door and enjoyed most of it, but at a certain point, I def started skimming a little lol.
I really liked the checklist and thought the execution with Siri was funny and cute. It took a bit to get there, but the plot actually became more intense than I expected, but I did think the culprit was pretty obvious.
Overall, just okay. I do think it's the first book I've read based in my city though so that's cool!

I may need to go buy some bleach for my eyes now, or travel in time to just let my brain forget about this. 2 stars for whatever this shit was.
I really enjoyed this read. It was everything that we know and love about a Maggie Rawdon book, with a much welcome added element of suspense!
What to expect: football romance / friends to lovers / ex boyfriend's brother / single Dad / stern brunch Daddy vibes / spicy wishlist
As Trixie is Cooper's brother's ex, I loved that they were friends first. I loved how close she was to his family, despite her messy break up with Cooper's brother. Yes, you did read that right! I also really loved how Trixie had an established relationship with Cooper's daughter; they really picked right up where they left off and their relationship was really special.
The fact that Cooper and Trix were friends prior made their developing relationship seem so genuine as the trust was already established. These two were such a great match, and Cooper had no issue in letting Trixie know that he was indeed the better brother. Trixie was such a sweetheart, and I loved that Cooper, through trying to figure out what he wanted with his life, found such a beautiful match in Trixie. I also really liked the suspense element of this story and I definitely felt that it added to the progression of Cooper and Trixie's relationship; his possessive and protetive side really came to play! Those last few % really had me on the edge of my seat, absolutely rooting for them to get their happy ending.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend! Thank you Maggie and Autumn for the arc; it is always a pleasure and I love being on your team!
I couldn't put it down. We're talking 2am, one more chapter, groggy fuzzy morning- couldn't put it down. Cooper and Bea were pure perfection, the push and pull of their relationship had me hooked from the first chapter.
Cooper Rawlings is book boyfriend gold. From the second these two reconnected, he was all in. He was ready to shed his playboy persona and when his brother's ex girlfriend (and object of his infatuation) popped back into proximity he was all in, giving us everything we want in a MMC. He was such a present dad with Lizzy, a co-parent to her mom, dedicated to Bea and her safety, a beast in the bedroom, and selfless to a fault. Seriously. He. Was. Everything.
Bea was a great counterpart to him. I loved her dedication to herself, her career, and her brother. I loved how she embraced Lizzy as a role model and was willing to be a part of her life, even though it made things uncomfortable with her ex. I also really liked how she didn't hold anything against Carly and placed the blame for their relationship's demise appropriately.
As perfect as Cooper was, the story kept up with his level of perfection. It ebbed and flowed at the perfect pace. Each chapter left me wanting more while not feeling stagnant or overdone. There was an element of suspense that niggled in the back of my mind during each encounter that added the perfect amount of intrigue into the story. But Bea's wishlist.. phew. Cooper was the only man I've ever read who could have who perfectly met her fantasies and desires. I want more of them always and forever. It was un-freaking-matched.
Overall, Yes. Just yes. I need more, Maggie!! I NEED MORE!!
I knew from the bit you get of these two in book one that their story was going to be straight 🔥 and oh was it ever.
You get some added suspense thrown into this one too, which I was constantly shocked by.
Let's just say she makes a list with her girlfriends of things she wants to do sexually, it gets said by alexia out loud, and the MMC hears his name on it ... plus he's her ex's brother.
Yup. 😏

Mine to Gain is the second book in the Queen City series and my first book by Maggie Rawdon. This story follows Beatrix (Trix) Xavier and Cooper Rawlings. Beatrix finds herself back in the same town as Cooper. He is a professional football player, a single father to his teenage daughter, Lizzy, and her ex-boyfriend's brother. Although Trix wanted to avoid Cooper, it was clear from the start there was something magnetic between them. I loved the development of Trix and Cooper's relationship. They had amazing chemistry and fit well together. When Cooper discovers Trix has a naughty checklist, he jumps at the opportunity to help.
The steamy scenes were delicious. Cooper and his mouth had me fanning myself. He was down bad for Trix, and I loved every second of it. Despite the drama their relationship created, Cooper was determined to make Trix his. I loved the suspense element in the story. Cooper is protective of Trix and easily steps in to help her when needed. When danger lurks and threatens Trix's safety, Cooper provides her with refuge. I loved Cooper's relationship with his daughter and adored Trix's bond with her as well. There is definitely a lot going on in this book, but I loved the drama. If you are looking for a story with a good mix of romance, steam, and suspense, this is a good choice.
Narration: Lucy Rivers and Dane Anderson perform this audiobook in dual-style narration. They did well with the story and brought the characters to life. I could feel the tension, emotions, and chemistry. Lucy and Dane delivered wonderful performances, making this an enjoyable listening experience.
Thanks to Maggie Rawdon, Lyric Audiobooks, and Must Love Audio for the gifted audiobook copy. Opinions expressed are my own.
I was so excited for Cooper and Bea's story and I didn't know how the story was going to play out but it definitely was NOT what I read and holy moly was it good! Let's put it this way, Cooper was definitely the better brother. Holy Smokes did he do something to my insides!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Cooper Rawlings has only two priorities: football and his daughter. That is until he runs into Beatrix, his brother's ex-girlfriend, who is in need of a white knight and Cooper is there to help her out. But when Cooper learns about Bea's secret summer check list, he quickly remembers all of the reasons why she is off-limits. 💭 My Thoughts: This book was EVERYTHING I wanted and so much more! For one, can we talk about the little suspense that was included in this book? Now I don't know what I was expecting from Bea and Cooper's story but it wasn't romantic suspense but I am here for it! It kept me on my toes and had me guessing til the end.
Cooper and Bea's relationship was so perfect. These two were so vulnerable with each other. I loved their friendship, how Cooper has been pining for Bea for years even when she was with his brother, and can we talk about the mouth on this man 🥵 Like seriously, this man was so protective and dominate that it has me weak. Not to mention he had me swooning at wanting to check off every item on Bea's summer check list.
I also want to note that I loved how yes Cooper is a football player but the main focus was not on football. Which I found to be refreshing for a sports romance. Not everything has to be sports related and I loved seeing how their relationship progressed over the summer months with him being a football player in the background. Now with that being said, I NEED Ramsey's book immediately!
*I would like to thank Maggie Rawdon and Wordsmith Publicity for allowing me to read Mine to Gain as an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review!

WOW!! I was not expecting the suspense in this book. BUT I LOVED IT. Maggie Rawdon can do no wrong in my eyes. I love her writing and I already knew this series will be a 5-star read for me.
Mine to Gain is the 2nd book in the Queen City Series following Cooper Rawlings & Beatrix Xavier. We met both characters in Rival Hearts. Beatrix works in PR for the Chaos, the football team Cooper plays for. Bea already has a connection with Coop with being his brother’s ex. Cooper & Bea always had a good relationship but for Cooper there was always just something about her that drew him in even if she was with his brother. Now, they’ve broken up and Bea & Cooper find themselves around each other a lot.
I ate this book UP. I had a hard time wanting to put this down. I love everything about them. Cooper is a fantastic dad, he is supportive and protective. He will do everything for the people he loves. Bea is so strong and one of my favorite FMC. The bond she has with Cooper’s daughter melts my heart.
I can’t wait to see what Maggie has in store for us with the rest of the series. Thank you Maggie & Wordsmith Publicity for this eARC.
Single dad? ✔️ Ex’s brother? ✔️ Forbidden? ✔️ Forced proximity? Sign me up 👏🏻
Mine to Gain is book two in the Queens City football series following Cooper Rawlings and Beatrix Xavier.
We met both these characters in Rival Hearts. Bea works in PR for the Chaos, the team Cooper plays for. But they also have another connection, she dated his brother. Cooper & Bea always had a good friendship but for Cooper there was just something about her that drew him in even if she was his brother’s girlfriend. Now, they’ve broken up and Bea and Cooper find themselves around each other. After a girls night Bea makes an adventure list & who finds himself on it, Cooper.
This was a fun & spicy read. I loved how their relationship was based off a strong friendship. Cooper was an amazing dad to Lizzy & the relationship Bea and Lizzy shared was super special as well. They both just seemed to fit into each other’s lives. I DID not see the twist coming which was fun cause I love to be kept guessing! Maggie never disappoints with her spice & this book brought the heat. I also loved how we got glimpses into some of our other favorites characters and how their stories were woven into Bea & Cooper’s story.
I am so interested to see whose story Maggie gives us next, wink wink 😉.
I had assumed that “Mine to Gain” would pick up roughly around where “Rival Hearts” left off, but it actually started in the middle or so of Quentin and Madison’s love story. So nothing was repeated but interesting overlap that I enjoyed seeing!
Trix and Cooper together were absolute perfection. Their chemistry was so intense and I loved how there was already an immediate connection between Trix and Cooper. Since Cooper has seemed to hold a candle for her even while she was dating his brother. And the ex brother’s trope is so fun! Pop off I’m here for the added drama!!
Listening to the audio both narrators did an awesome job. Dane Anderson’s deep growl voice was top tier, and Lucy Rivers was the perfect counterpart. They both just did these two characters such justice, and I honestly cannot recommend the audio enough!
Tropes: ex-boyfriend’s brother, single dad, friends to lovers, friends with benefits, forced proximity, roommates to lovers, pining, he falls first, reformed playboy, romantic suspense
Cooper falls first and oh, so hard for her. He's the cutest, growly, protective MMC and boy, does he have a mouth on him 😏
I'm sorry to every MMC that has come before because Cooper Rawlings has taken over the book boyfriend top spot 😍😍
Ex-boyfriends brother will always be an elite trope and this one is done so perfectly with all the tension and possessiveness.
The added suspense aspect to their story is so freaking good. It's one that has you wanting to keep reading to find out if your guess is right or not.
This book has a bit of a different vibe to the other books from Maggie that I've read and I'm totally here for it!
It brings all the sweet and swoony moments, found family vibes and HELLA spicy scenes that she's known for, but there's a bit of a darker edge in this one and her writing is perfect for this.
To say I'm excited for where Maggie is going next is a massive understatement. I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT!!!
Ex's older brother?! Yes, please! This was so good! Full of spice, banter, and I couldn't get enough! Cooper has always loved Bea from afar but couldn't act on it due to Bea dating his younger brother.
Now, Bea is no longer dating his brother, and she's single. Back in his town working in PR for his team, the Chaos.
Sparks fly now that there's nothing holding either of them back.
I loved every minute of their love story. Coop's daughter was an amazing character, and I loved Bea and his daughter’s friendship.
There's some suspense thrown in here, which was nice. I enjoyed it wanting to know what was going to happen next!
I can't wait for what Maggie puts out next! I definitely recommend this!
I loved Rival Hearts, so I'm happy to he back in that world. Cooper & Trixie were so much fun. He is such a cinnamon roll, but then he was also absolutely not - 🔥🌶. I figured out the stalker immediately, but it still made for an interesting plot line - especially with how this ended.
I am seriously looking forward to Ramsey's story!! When you know what happens, I literally squealed! 😬

Everything Maggie writes is perfection. I was glued to this book from the very first page. It’s wildly addicting, spicy af, and heartwarming in the best way. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Cooper and Bea have my whole heart.
What you’ll find: - football romance - ex’s brother - single dad - suspense - “let me help you complete your summer adventure list”
Holy moly, Maggie Rawdon you did the most and I can't stop thinking about this book! I listened to Mine to Gain within 14 hours. The steam, the spice, the mystery element... LOVED.
This was steamy but so well balanced. There was so many spicy moments but none of them felt unnecessary or like they were too much.
I listened to an advanced listener copy. The production by Lyric Audiobooks and narration by Dane Anderson and Lucy River was EXCELLENT. I highly recommend giving it a read or a listen!
Maggie Rawdon is fast becoming one of my go-tos for sports romance! Mine to Gain is both adorable sweet and swoony yet page turning intense. Forbidden, friends to lovers meets romantic suspense, and add in a single dad?! Yup, I was a goner. Cooper and Trixie’s story is so heartfelt and emotionally rich. Maggie packs in genuine connection and wonderful character arcs with a premise both spicy and scary….this one was such a treat.
I always adore the way Maggie develops and explores her characters, and given the rich and complicated dynamic these two have, I just adored how she explorer Cooper and Trixie’s attraction. These two have a history that makes their romantic connection forbidden, but they also have a genuine and authentic friendship that is really endearing and substantive. Friends to lovers always just hits differently- the established connection, the history, and in this case the longing- GASP, I just melt for it. I loved watching them navigate the challenging aspects of their bond as well as the easy ones- how something so natural and right can also be more complex- not only because of Trixie’s past with Cooper’s brother but also because of Cooper’s single dad status. Their relationship can never just be about them alone, not at first, but gah they fall so sweetly.
Cooper is just DELICIOUS. Cinnamon roll hear, super protective and patient, a wonderful father. He’s ridiculously swoon-worthy, and the man has been pining for her?! I mean I melt. He’s been altruistic, not pursuing his feelings….and his altruism also plays out here. But he loves her just so HARD. And Trixie is lovable, trying to find her way professional while navigating so much of her emotional baggage, catalyzed further by this stalker situation. She’s sweet and kind and so lovely with Cooper’s daughter. Their chemistry has so much heart and soul to it- I just adored them together. Not to mention, the spicy to-do list gave us some oh-so-delicious spicy moments. Scorching hot.
Outside of the anticipated brother drama, we also have a page turning heroine in danger plot, and I’m such a sucker for a protective hero when our heroine is being stalked. That meant this felt a little less sports focused than the prior, but I loved the added intensity it gave to their pull towards each other…the suspense, an additional catalyst that forced them to face their feelings…and to fall into each other’s arms. Particularly since it gives Cooper the excuse he finally needs to get Trixie closer to him. There was a lot with their family and the danger, and I wish we’d gotten just a bit more future closure for them, but I know we’ll see them in the rest of the series. I adored them so much I just wanted more!

“What’s that thing they always say? Hope springs eternal? That’s me when it comes to Trixie.”
Dual Audio narrated by Lucy Rivers & Dane Anderson

The Chaos series is a solid five star series! While Rival Hearts pulls at your heart strings, Maggie took a different route with Mine To Gain. She sprinkled some of her dark era and suspense into this story…TOTALLY MIND BLOWN!
Lucy Rivers and Dane Anderson did a fantastic job at bringing Beatrix and Cooper to life. Every scene left me swooning. This duo did an amazing performance .
ARC REVIEW:
“The beautiful thing about all of this is she’s not my brother’s girl anymore, and I have all the cheat codes to win her over.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I DEVOURED THIS BOOK! I loved it! Maggie scored with Bea & Cooper’s story. She checked off the boxes to all my favorite tropes. Single dad, ex boyfriend’s brother, friends to lovers, suspense, and a splash of fake dating. Chef’s kiss perfection !
Beatrix is working PR for the Chaos Football team along side her friend Madison. Cooper Rawlings plays for the Chaos and he’s Bea’s ex boyfriend’s brother. Now that they work together the secret crush he had on her is reignited. He’s a single dad and his daughter adores Bea. While hanging out with them Bea finds herself in an unsafe situation that gives Cooper the opportunity to become her white knight. Bea has a secret summer checklist that Cooper finds out about, and now he’s determined to check off every box. Will he succeed?
Y’all… this man left me speechless. The way he was feral for his girls. They were his priority . The spice…damn, this man’s mouth was filthy. The things he did were hot af. I will never look at a football the same again. I mean that in a good way. Maggie added just the right amount of tension, spice, and suspense. I’m so excited for what Maggie has up next for us.
Tropes: football, single dad, brother’s ex, workplace, cinnadom/stern brunch daddy, he falls first & hard, forced proximity, friends with benefits, protective MMC.
