10 Stunning Hotels in Cabo Pulmo

10 Stunning Hotels in Cabo Pulmo

Sharing is caring!

Cabo Pulmo is one of my favorite places in all of Mexico and part of that reason is because there are so few hotels in Cabo Pulmo. Which means that there are never too many people there at once.

As a day trip from Cabo San Lucas, this place can get popular during peak season. But most people come on a tour, hop straight on a boat, and then leave before dusk.

That means, if you decide to spend a night or two here, you will be one of the few who get to enjoy cold Pacificos and fish tacos at Tacos & Beer or big plates of grilled shrimp and rice at La Palapa.

There isn’t a ton to do in Cabo Pulmo, you either sit at the beach or you hop on a boat to go snorkeling or diving.

However, those three things are some of the best possible in the entire Baja Peninsula.

Get under water to see thousands of fish swimming in a school together. There is so much marine life in this part of Mexico. Afterward, walk along the coastline with the calm Gulf of California on one side and stunning mountains on the other.

The hotels in Cabo Pulmo are not fancy resorts. They are humble cabins and cabanas. There are hammocks on the porches, kitchenettes where you can self cater, and simply furnished rooms with unstylish bedding.

These are the best options which include affordable and comfortable cabins. The best hotels in Cabo Pulmo are clean, affordable, and run by incredibly kind locals.

Best Hotels in Cabo Pulmo

Some of the best hotels in Cabo Pulmo are available on Booking.com to prebook. But many of the cheapest cabañas don’t have websites or availability online.

For the Cabo Pulmo hotels that do not have websites, I will list a phone number.

If you do not speak Spanish, you can send them a message on Whatsapp. Then you can easily book a place to stay with them and then pay (usually in cash) once you arrive.

1. Bungalows Cabo Pulmo

If you want to stay at one of the best hotels in Cabo Pulmo and walk straight out of your door and onto the beach in about one minute, you should book a stay at Bungalows Cabo Pulmo.

Bungalows Cabo Pulmo is about as close as it gets to the beach without pitching a tent right on the sand.

The bungalows are basic. Some have one bed, others have two beds. Most have a small kitchenette and dining table where you can sit and eat meals. Most bungalows sleep 3 or 4 people, but there is one family bungalow that you can rent that sleeps up to five people.

The bungalows start at $90 USD per night depending on which size you want to stay in. Book a stay here.

The beach in Cabo Pulmo is a special place to be, try to find a hotel as close to the waterfront as you can (although nothing is more than a 5 minute walk in this town).

2. Bungalow Tiburón Toro

Bungalows Tiburón Toro translates to Bull Shark Bungalows and is one of my favorite places to stay in Cabo Pulmo. Bull Sharks can be found in the waters of Cabo Pulmo all year long, but hopefully you won’t find any in your bed at these bungalows.

These bungalows are located along the main street in Cabo Pulmo and have a real beach bungalow vibe with palapa-style ceilings. They are clean and perfect for a few days stay in Cabo Pulmo.

The bungalows have a double bed and a single bed inside so it can sleep up to three people. Some of them have a beautiful sea view out of the window.

The bungalows start at $80 USD per night. Book a stay at Bungalows Tiburón Toro here.

El Nido promises to deliver paradise in Cabo Pulmo.

This is an entire villa that you can rent for a minimum of two nights. It’s perfect for a family or a group of friends who are traveling here to go diving or snorkeling for a few days.

The property has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen and can sleep up to six people. There is an amazing rooftop balcony with chairs to relax on and insane views of the Gulf of California and surrounding mountains.

It’s the perfect escape from the bustling Cabo San Lucas or La Paz as a fun weekend escape. The villa starts at $200 USD per night. Book a stay at El Nido here.

Pop into Tacos & Beer after a day out on the water for ice cold Pacificos!

4. Villa del Mar

Villa del Mar is the closest thing to luxury you’re likely to find in Cabo Pulmo.

This villa is a stunning 3-bedroom home that sleeps up to 8 people. You are a 3-minute walk to the beach and the rooftop of the villa has plenty of space to relax and soak up the views over the gulf.

It is decorated in a vacation-home style with colorful but clean furniture. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to self-cater while you’re there and there is a big dining table to seat the whole group in the evenings.

The villa costs $400 USD per night, but if you are traveling here with 8 people or even just three couples, it is fantastic value for money. Book a stay at Villa de Mar here.

5. Cabo Pulmo Vacation Rentals

This rental agency has three bungalows around Cabo Pulmo that you can rent. They have two studio bungalows and a one-bedroom bungalow. All of them are totally self-contained with kitchens, bathrooms, beds, and living areas.

The unique thing about these Cabo Pulmo bungalows is that they are all solar powered. They all have ample parking onsite, fast WiFi, air conditioning (a rarity in Cabo Pulmo!) and weekly rates if you plan to stay a while.

All of the bungalows at Cabo Pulmo Vacation Rentals have a minimum 2-night booking policy. Check prices and book directly on their website.

beach with tire tracks on it and small mountains in the distance with a bright blue sky overhead.

The weather in Baja means that it’s wonderful to visit any time of year, but the water is warmest towards the end of the summer months and into October. If it’s too cold, you can always ask for a wetsuit from the dive shop.

6. Cabañas Alicia

This is one of my favorite places to stay when I am in Cabo Pulmo. This little set of bungalows is run by a friendly family. They are small cabins with double beds, bathrooms, and a patio with a hammock to relax in.

Not all of the cabins have kitchens, so be sure to request one if you that is what you want. If you are only staying for a night or two, this is a very affordable option. It is tucked away from the beach, but still only a few minutes walk. This makes it quiet at night (except for the occasional rooster which you’ll hear all over town).

Bungalows start at about $40 USD per night but the prices are quoted and should be paid in Mexican Pesos (about 680 Pesos). You can pre-book your stay by messaging them on Whatsapp: +52 624 228 8860. You may also be able to contact them through their Facebook page.

7. Casa del Mar

One of the only beachfront hotel locations, Casa del Mar allows you to walk out of the front door and straight onto the sand.

There is one bedroom as well as a sofa bed in the living room so the villa can sleep up to four people. There is a large bathroom, a full kitchen, and a front porch where you can sit in the shade and look out at the beach with a coffee in hand. Or better yet, an ice cold Pacifico!

Casa del Mar costs $200 USD per night. Book a stay at this stunning villa here.

The main reason to come to Cabo Pulmo is to get out into the water, so you won’t be spending all that much time at your Cabo Pulmo hotel anyway.

8. Casa Tamarindo

Casa Tamarindo is a cute little cabin that perfect for a small family or a couple. There is one bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. There is a full sized kitchen with everything you need to self cater.

The cabin is a little bit dated compared to some of the other hotels in Cabo Pulmo, but it is a good price for the size and space you get. There are two large outdoor areas. One on top floor under a palapa roof and another outside in the shade of a tamarind tree.

There is a large table outside where you can sit to enjoy your meals. Just be sure to bring bug spray for the evenings.

Casa Tamarindo starts at $95 USD per night for up to five guests. You can see photos of the property here. Book a stay at Casa Tamarindo by sending them a message on Whatsapp: +52 624 16 85 186

9. Jewel of Cabo Pulmo

This is everything that the name suggests. This jewel of a hotel in Cabo Pulmo is a stunning Mexican-inspired home with colorful tiles, brightly painted walls, Guadalajara-style chairs, and tons of outdoors space to relax in.

You’ll find balconies, porches, and a garden spot to sit on and listen to the sounds of Cabo Pulmo. You can see more photos on their website.

The best way to book is to message them on Whatsapp: +52 625 147 1573. You can also reach out via email: info@jewelofcabopulmo.com.

rocky beach shaped like a crescent with a cart on the pebbles and then a very light green water crashing to the shore and streaks of cloud in the bright blue sky.

Check to see if your hotel in Cabo Pulmo has beach chairs because it can be a little bit too rocky for simply laying a blanket down.

10. Casa Pajaros

This Cabo Pulmo Hotel has two separate bungalows inside it. You can choose to have the bottom floor apartment, the top floor, or go all out and rent the entire house which sleeps up to eight people.

Both floors have full kitchens and bathrooms. The bottom floor has two bedroom and the top floor has one bedroom. The upper floor also has a huge open patio area to sit out on and enjoy the views.
