Before starting my NFL career, I flew into the city closest to the town I’d call home. I booked a room, went out to grab a bite, and ended up talking football with the locals, who had no clue who I was. Oh yeah, and I had a few too many drinks.
As the night wore on, everything became a little bit blurry. Deciding to use the men’s room before grabbing a ride back to the hotel to catch some ZZZs, the door to the stall behind me swung open and a chick with an SU ball cap on, barely containing her wild, dark locks, stepped out, glanced down at my junk, and said, “That will work.”

Even after finding out she was related to the owners of the New York Knights, there wasn’t a problem. We agreed it was no big deal. I didn’t even take offense to what that could have meant south of the border, either.
The problem arose when I met her sister.
They look alike, but they couldn't be any different. And no, it’s not what you’re thinking. I don’t have a sisters fantasy or anything like that, and I’ve never been, and never will be, the guy who falls in love. My heart just doesn’t work that way.

This was the story I have been waiting for in this new series and it was everything I had hoped for and more. The NY Knights football series takes us back to OG Blue Valley with the Riley connection and my favorite man Hudson Hart is front and center and I loved every minute of it. The cameos keep coming left and right and I am here for them, the nostalgia in stories past is incredible and puts a smile on my face everytime we get to see how far they have all come.
Hudson Hart really is up there, I loved him from his very first scene and was so excited to see him fall as I knew it would be as he likes to say..epic and unstoppable! What a guy.

Hart Breaker ( The New York Knights Players Club Book 1 ) Tropes 💜one night stand 💜Forbidden 💜Exs Sister and football romance. Let me just start by simply saying how much I absolutely adore M.J Fields’s writing, not only is she one of my absolute favorite authors but I can honestly and genuinely say that there has never been a book or series she has written I have not fallen completely in love with . Hart Breaker is the first installment in her brand new series and oh my gosh what an emotional rollercoaster it was and is . Hudson and Riley were everything together just everything from the second they meet the connection between them is instant and the chemistry well let’s just say every time they are near each other you can literally feel the steam and the sparks 🔥 coming right off the pages . Hudson is a NHL player for the New York Knights and Riley Just so happens to be related to the owners of the team which without a doubt puts her in the forbidden category. But this is not your typical boy meets girl and falls head over heels in love journey. Because Riley is not even available- she just so happens to be engaged to a complete a hole - everyone can see that she clearly deserves so much better . And Hudson well he is 100% determined to make her see just that . I seriously was not prepared for all the emotions this amazing book was going to stir in me . Everything from being utterly speechless, to yelling outta pure frustration, to smiling and laughing then sobbing like a baby and rooting so freaking hard . The angst , the humor , the witty banter, the off the charts chemistry, the secrets , the second chances , the drama , the love , the passion, the family and friendships, the heartbreaking and heartfelt moments, characters you simply cannot stop yourself from falling in love with . It has it all in spades and so much more .

Hudson had a one night stand with a woman in a bar, without knowing she was related to the owners of his football team. The problem happened when he met her sister, Riley, who inspired an instant, unexplainable connection in him. Unfortunately, though, she is engaged to a complete jerk and no one is stopping her from marrying him. How far will Hudson go to get what he wants?
This was a fantastic start to a new series with fantastic characters, funny banter, spicy chemistry, and a fun plot twist! I loved all the different friendships and family bonds that added to the entertainment. Hudson was extra swoon-worthy in his determination to protect Riley from a life of unhappiness. He was like a Golden Retriever Hero with a side of dirty talk and lots of Alpha swagger!😍 One of my favorite aspects of the book were the text threads! I love a funny text exchange!🤣 I enjoyed Riley as well, as she came to terms with reality and decided what she wanted out of life. Their connection was a bit of a slow burn on the page with all the outside drama with her fiancé, but once they hit their stride it was fire!!🔥 The ending was as sweet as sugar, and I cannot wait for Boone’s story!!

This is the story of Hudson and Riley. Their story is a forbidden romance that involves football and is full of all kinds of emotions. I was hooked from the first page. Hudson is in a new city where he is loving that he is able to cut loose since it's a new city and he can just be himself and talk football with strangers. What he did not count on was a very steamy meeting with a woman that takes he breath. She is really wild, carefree and very mysterious. This is his opportunity to have fun and not have to worry about a thing. What he did not expect in this no strings attached night of pure fun and fantasy is that he would find out that she is the relative of the owners of the New York Knights. This is the team that could make or break her football career. But the surprises are not over for him. When he meets his flings sister Riley who is absolutely nothing like her sister. She is very grounded and so serious all the time. But as serious as she is she is really one of the most kindhearted people that Hudson has ever met. However, she is engaged to a guy who is not good enough for her. I loved the way the tension in this book just bled off the pages of this book. You are hooked from the first page and won't lay it down until you are finished. I loved Riley. She balanced Hudson out in ways he didn't know that he needed to be balanced out. I loved reading this book. It was really great.

It's Hudson Hart's turn at an HEA, and he's almost as hardcore at it as his siblings hahah! These Hart kids really double down on walking straight into their forever. They love fiercely, and now that Mama Hart has her special someone, it seems it's happiness all around!
Hudson stumbles into town, talking sports with the patrons at a local bar. In the bathroom he ends up *ahem* one-night-standing it with the woman of his dreams - or so he thought. Turns out it was the look-alike sister of the woman of his dreams - but it turns out their family is part owners of Hudson's new team, so it's hands off. For both sisters. But when it comes to Riley Brooks, Hudson can't control himself. I admit I got a little confused with "Riley" because there's another Riley in MJ Fieldsville, and it helps to go with last names haha!
Hudson tries to hold back his feelings, especially due to the fact that, um, Riley Brook is ENGAGED to another man, but soon it becomes clear that Riley's intended isn't really meant to be her intended. And once she and Hudson give in to their attraction, they catch fire - and there's no looking back. They are so hot together!
The cast of characters in MJ Fields' books is the best found family. It spans multiple series, multiple teams, multiple towns - and yet, you can feel how much they mean to each other. They are real with each other. They fight, they laugh, they play, they mend each other's broken hearts. They are true family. I always know the books are worth reading. Can't wait for more!

The moment he met Riley Mae Brooks there was intense attraction he'd never known, but unfortunately she belonged to someone else. A someone else that didn't deserve her or treat her the way a woman she be treated. Now Hudson feels like he's stuck between a rock and a hard place, should he ignore his feelings and let her go or make his move, show her she deserves better and possibly change the course of her life?
The pages of Hart Breaker will melt your heart and leave you smiling. Nothing is sweeter than watching a guy break all the rules to steal the heart of the woman he wants. These two shouldn't have been together, it was forbidden for many reasons, but love totally won out this time. Riley was with a guy that didn't appreciate her and Hudson totally capitalized on that, showing her just what she was missing out on, giving her little tastes of the possibilities that could lie with being with him. It was so much fun to watch him woo her and steal her heart!

Overall I thought it was a fun and spicy book. I enjoy sports romance and all the side characters. The banter and text messages between the main characters was fun as well. I think I would have to appreciate the story more if I have read more of her previous books. I found the story to be a tad confusing because there were so many characters mentioned and I couldn’t quite keep up. I now understand that there are other series with some of the older characters but just reading this one it seemed like a lot to follow.
There was times where the book jump a little to a next scene and I was a little lost as well. Again, I think it would have benefited me to have read a lot more of her other books. Overall it was a fun one with a tad of the “forbidden trope” along with angst, chemistry, family/friend banter and good times had by all. If you have read and enjoy her other books then I definitely recommend checking this one out.

I really wanted to love this story. I read all of the Taking the Shot and Rounding the Bases series, and I was really looking forward to Hudson's story. This is billed as an interconnected stand alone, but I'm not sure that I agree. Even knowing Hudson's brother's and sister's stories, I felt a bit lost quite often. I know there are other characters in the book that come from previous series that I haven't read, and I really felt like I was missing something. I was also feeling like a big chunk of the story was not there. The 2 years between Hudson getting drafted to the Knights and the present day seemed to be missing, and I feel like important stuff must have happened there with Hudson and Riley that didn't get translated to the page. It left me unable to really understand how the two of them could have any kind of a connection, let alone the intense one they're supposed to have.
There's spice, sports, and family, which I love, I just needed there to be more substance to the story and the relationship than there was.

There is nothing better than a new series by MJ Fields but when you get to see the original characters from the beginning you know you are in for a treat.

I really enjoyed this book and getting to know Hudson and Riley. The relationship he had with his teammates, especially Big Daddy Boone, made me like him even more. She drove me crazy for a while, where her boyfriend was concerned. I felt like she was disrespecting herself by putting up with him as long as she did. His actions while trying to stop her from marrying her fiancé were hilarious and the ‘cab’ ride was fantastic.
I didn’t see the twist happening. The reason he stayed away and she never admitted her feelings about him was a nice, misunderstanding, of their own making. The banter, antics and true depth of feelings were fantastic and I appreciated her apprehension when it came to his career and age, but was equally relieved when she realized what she had the opportunity of having in her life.
I can’t wait to see what happens with Boone (his daughter was adorable) and the rest of the team. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

When Hudson meets Riley, he is immediately enchanted by her but there are so many reasons they shouldn’t be together. Not only is she related to the owner of the football team of which he has just become a player, she is engaged to another man, and he had a steamy encounter with her sister that was never destined to go any further.

What an adorably complicated love story this was! Hudson is a professional football player. He is close with his teammates and has put his not so peaceful childhood behind him. He also is totally smitten with Riley…but boy is that story complicated. Riley is engaged and everyone is telling her she could do better…including Hudson. This is a fast pace love story. A story about forgetting your past and enjoying your future. About going after what you truly want no matter how hard the situation might be. I loved Riley and Hudson together…they truly belonged together. This was a slow burn that was definitely worth the wait. I look Forward to seeing what is to come next with this entertaining group of friends.

When I heard that am J Fields had a new series releasing I could t wait to jump in. This is Hudson and Riley Mae Brook’s story and it was an emotional story that moved me. They shouldn’t have crossed the line, but the heart wants who the heart wants.
From the moment they met the sharks flew but as Riley is already engaged she is off limits, until she isn’t.
There were a number of twists and turns in this story as Hudson does his best to show Riley that she deserves so much more. An entertaining, well written faced paced story that drew me in and I am looking forward to seeing what Ms. Fields has in store for the series.

At times I struggled with the mention of so many characters and trying to keep them straight in my mind, I really enjoyed this book. Riley and Hudson are swoony and sweet together.

I loved Hudson Hart and Riley Mae Brooks! This book has all the feels. I laughed so hard a couple of times that I cried. I kept interrupting my husband's TV viewing while reading lines to him. Of course, he just stared at me like I was crazy. I am always excited to get one one of MJ's ARCs. I have read most the Taking the Shot series, all the currently published Rounding the Bases books, and can't wait for more of the NY Knights Players Club. (One day I need to get my hands on the other, earlier series books.) If you have read any of the other series you will find plenty of old friends, if not, you will make plenty of new ones! Enjoy.

The first book in a new series. M J Fields does not disappoint. I couldn’t wait for Hart’s book. So worth the wait.
Hart has wanted Riley since she “welcomed” him into the family two years ago. He still wants her but now she is engaged to someone else. No one is thrilled with who she is engaged to but all Hart wants is for her to be happy. If he could he would put her on a shelf and protect her.
Riley has felt a pull toward Hart. But she has been hurt in the past by cheating ex’s. It is hard for her to trust anyone. There is also the issue of his age. He is only twenty three years old and she is nearing thirty.
The sparks between these two are explosive between the sheets as well as outside. Once you start you cannot put this book down. A 5-star read by a 5-star author.

Hudson Hart was everything I thought he would be. Be prepared to swoon when it comes to him. That man is all golden retriever except when it comes to the bedroom. That man is a beast! I so loved seeing all my favorites from the baseball and football worlds. It made me all giddy! Riley couldn't ask for anyone better to be in her corner than Hudson, but first she needs to come to terms and forgive herself for her past decisions. I really got into this one and it was hard to put down. The characters just pulled me right in. A great book with a cast of characters that are going to steal your heart. Don't even get me started with Hudson and his teammate's little girl. Oh my gosh heart melting. Little Lily is so adorable!!! This is a must read!

I was looking forward to Hudsons book after seeing him in his brother Romans story, he was fun and my favourite character in that book but his funny banter wasn’t as present in this book.
I still liked him as a character, just a few less laughs when it’s his own heart on the line and he was reluctant to throw his heart out there considering Riley should have been off limits.
Riley’s has been cheated on and hurt in the past and is now playing the safe game with her choice of fiancé despite her attraction to Hudson.

Full of drama and a true emotional roller coaster, the story captivated me with it’s forbidden love plot, angst, secrets, twists and wonderful characters.
Hudson is such a gorgeous, golden hearted, multi-layered MMC and Riley is a kind, unassuming sweetheart, who deserves to be loved wholeheartedly.
I loved the chemistry between them, the text exchanges, and the humour. I loved watching Hudson woo Riley.
Well-paced, heartfelt, realistic and beautifully written, Ms Fields has done it again, this is another story for the Favourites pile. I can’t wait for the next book in this new series.

So good! I have read other novels by this author and enjoyed them. This novel did not disappoint. I love a good sports novel and this novel had a twist. From the first chapter this novel grabbed my attention. I had a hard time putting this novel down because it had a twist and I needed to know what was coming next. I loved Hudson and Riley's story. I loved that Hudson knew that he was the one for Riley. I loved their chemistry. I loved watching them fall in love. This novel kept me guessing what was coming next. I can't wait to see what this author has coming next.

This is a great start to a new series that I had a hard time putting down when I started it if only real life did not have to interfere with my reading! This book is a slow burn romance between Hudson and Riley that as their story progressed the chemistry between the characters did as well. This book is also a great set up for more books in the series as it introduced a lot of new characters leaving me wanting the next book of the series now instead of having to wait for it. Overall, this is a great read that I would recommend to others.

I’m so in love with this storyline, with Riley and Hart! Hudson Hart plays football for the New York Knights. Riley and Hart’s banter and angst and wow the sexual tension between them! Hart made me laugh! He is handsome sexy and goes straight after what he wants! And Riley is who he has always wanted. Such great character development and great attention to details.
I also loved all of the secondary characters, they brought happy memories from the previous books. I fell in love with Hudson and Riley and reading their very beautiful happily ever after!

MJ Fields can write sports romance and Hart Breaker is a 5-star read.
The characters Riley and Hudson are wonderful together.
As part of the New York Knights Hudson has always noticed Riley but never acted on anything more until he feels that her life is not going in the right direction.
He steps in but then feelings come into play that have them both second-guessing!
A slow-burn romance was added with Hudson’s supportive family, not his father!
Riley's relationship with her family is also strong which makes this book an easy read with very little angst.

Such a great story...I've been waiting for Hudson's story and it did not disappoint! Hudson & Riley so HOT and a fun ride! ;) Your head will be spinning with all the OG's that keep popping up! Can the crush ever turn into something more when the major crush is the sister of a one night fling? Plus she's engaged! You'll have to read this to find out if it does. I can't wait for more of this series!

I tried to like this book more because I really like Hudson and Rileys characters. The main issue with this story was I found the dialogue between characters hard to follow. I had to go back and reread a lot of it because I just couldn't keep up with it (that's probably on me) Despite that Hudson was top notch book boyfriend material. I also liked the interaction with him and his teammates daughter (thought that was super cute). All in all this story had great characters.
