National Highways is advising drivers to plan their journeys ahead of weekend closures on the A417 and A419 to carry out essential maintenance.
The work, which starts with a closure of the A417 between Burford Road Interchange and Quarry Interchange northbound between Friday 30 August to Monday 2 September, is essential to keep the concrete carriageway safe and reliable for drivers.
Various sections of the A419/A417 will be affected while the maintenance is carried out, sections of the A419/A417 outside of the works area will operate as usual.
Sarah Lewis, Service Manager for National Highways, said: “Safety is our number one priority, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but need to carry out these essential repairs to ensure the long-term maintenance and safety of carriageway.
“We understand that road closures are frustrating, but by fully closing the road, we can get this essential repair work done safely and quickly, causing less disruption overall.
“Once it's all complete, these improvements will benefit road users and the local community for many years to come.”
