American Military Disasters in 1942

The six months after the United States declared war on Japan in December 1941 were disastrous. Political treachery and military incompetence led to a series of major military defeats despite years of preparation. Official American history portrays President Franklin Roosevelt and his team of Admirals and Generals as great professionals. Actual history proves they were incompetent clowns who caused embarrassing defeats that the American media covered up. Most of this history remains hidden to this day, especially in school and college textbooks.

LOL spoken like a true idiot. America Fought on TWO Theaters of War, unlike the British. The most embarrassing act of WW ll was when the British surrendered to the out numbered out gunned Japanese in Singapore. On the 15th of February 1942, Lt General Arthur Percival signed the largest surrender in British history at Singapore. The city was supposed to be a fortress, but his force of 85,000 men had been defeated by just 35,000 Japanese troops. The British in Singapore outnumbered the Japanese Almost 3 to 1! The British had the high ground, unlimited supplies of Food and Water.… Read more »

“America Fought on TWO Theaters of War, unlike the British.” Then you go on to discuss the British failures in the East. You don’t mention Burma or Malaya at all. So, the Brits fought on two fronts, right? You’re a donkey. By 1942, the Brits had been fighting for 3 years in Europe. Unlimited food and water on Singapore? Are you aware that Singapore gets all its water by pipeline from Jahor across the Strait? The Japs held Malaya. I’m not excusing British failures, but remember the US started the war in the Pacific by blockading Japan in the first… Read more »

Burma? Really?? Malaysia? Really? You compare Burma and Malaysia to fighting the Empire of Japan and Nazi Germany? That is laughable, but that is the best you have as a brit. Yes, America did blockade Japan which was an act of war, but that is besides the point of my post. America Defeated the Japanese in the Philippines, you know that, right? Don’t confuse a retreat for a defeat. The brits never defeated the Japanese in Singapore, the U.S. GAVE Singapore back to the Brits because there was too much to occupy for the U.S.. The U.K. is currently and… Read more »

The grand old Duke of York
He had ten thousand men.
He marched them up to the top of the hill,
And he marched them down again.
And when they were up, they were up
And when they were down, they were down
And when they were only half way up
They were neither up nor down.

I think that explains the British army perfectly.
